Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I’m subscribed to other shooting sports forums on TT, so I don’t think so.
  2. Had a friend recommend this and thought I'd ask the good folks here for thoughts ... http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/96982/SPS+SPP40BC+PANTERA+40S+16R+BLKHC Looks like an STI and have read a couple comments on standard parts fit.
  3. BB 147s for my production 9 and never worry about steel. Just my $.02 Sent from my KFSOWI using Tapatalk

I had a FFiii on my previous gun and appreciate the sideways Cmore on my new gun more for the reasons stated above.
  5. Congrats. Just celebrated 18 yesterday and can relate. Ups and downs, unexpected challenges, surprises ... And there's still no one I'd rather spend the rest of my life with by my side.
  6. Check shooters connection Sent from my KFSOWI using Tapatalk
  7. 2nd for the Cheeley sideways setback. Love mine! Sent from my KFSOWI using Tapatalk
  8. Brian Enos practical shooting and Ben Stoeger skills and drills.
  9. Ok, so I've read Brian's Practical Shooting and Ben's Skills and Drills as primers. My question is: What is your training regimen?
  10. I'm also considering that I'm setup to load .40, but not .45. I know, it's only a couple hundred more dollars to setup for a .45 load (dies, toolhead, powder measure, chamber checker), then work up a new load, stock more / different bullets ... vs get another gun that I already have load data, tooling, and rounds to fit ...
  11. Thanks, scottlep. My current 1911 .45 is a SA RO, so I had considered them. The RIA as well. Looks like I missed a STI Spartan by a couple days that I would've seriously considered as well. That is the price range I've been looking in.
  12. I've always had a 1911 chambered in .45 in the stable. I've had everything from Citadels and Stars to Colts and Springfield Armory's. Then I got bit by the USPSA bug. I wanted something a little cheaper to shoot than .45 and went the Glock route in 9MM (Gen 4 G34 as my production gun). Wanting to keep the same feel for my carry gun, I picked up a G19. My poor 1911 became a safe queen. Now I've picked up an STI for Open and am shaking up the stable, so to speak. I'm looking at 9mm 1911s to add to the collection. I've also been considering a .40. So .... a couple questions: What are 'decent' and 'reasonably priced' 1911 9mms? What are the thoughts on .40 vs .45 in 1911?
  13. Not really new, but a long time lurker (like so many others, I'm sure). The forums here have long been a go-to when I'm looking for good information relating to shooting sports or reloading. It is finally time to quit lurking and see if I can help others like I've been helped.
