  1. Well then it's not a functional difference. CZ-USA and Ghost/CZ-Custom are two different companies. Has CZ-Custom Shop put out 2000+ Accushadows already?
  2. It's sold through CZ USA has a CZ USA SKU and is in the CZ USA catalog. Sounds like the functional equivalent of the S&W Performance Center to me. Does CZ-UB or CZ-USA own CZ Custom? http://cz-usa.com/company/about-cz-usa/ http://czcustom.com/about-us.aspx PC is owned by S&W. Just like Sig Custom Shop is owned by Sig.
  3. Has anyone independently verified the CORE 5" vs non CORE 5" model to verify those weights? Seems like 3oz is a bit of weight to drop from cutting the slide for a RDS and then adding back on a plastic cover and screws.
  4. Dawson should have replacements. Just curious, but what holster were you using? I've seen issues with M&Ps running taller than .180" fronts and Safariland ALS holsters.
  5. So there is no issue. That is why S&W did not do anything.
  6. And most of the GM cars sold with the ignition switch that had the weak detent springs didn't kill their owners..... but when a manufacturer recognizes a problem in the design and implements a fix, they shouldn't continue to use up all the old junk just to save money. The fact they changed the design is proof that they knew their was a need to correct something.... Or perhaps the design was changed to streamline production...because the safety models came later and it doesn't make sense making multiple style frames and sear housing blocks. This is not a safety issue. When your gun stops working as intended, send it to the manufacturer or perform required maintenance. Until then, there is no problem with the gun. I just sent a pistol today to S&W...on their dime...for a warranty issue...if you actually have a legitimate issue involving the functioning of the firearm, they will fix it for the customer. But when a gun stops working, it is a safety issue. What does M&P stand for? They are marketing these for defense and their reliability. Not everyone just uses them in a game. Any mechanical device can stop working... we could play the safety issue all day with cars, planes, boats, etc. Firearms are mechanical objects which can fail. Learn to deal with it and maintain your equipment.
  7. Do you have an example of an originally owned, non M&P issue they refused to provide a label for return on?

  9. Besides the wobble...how did the gun actually shoot?
  10. I agree with above. The gun works as designed by Smith and Wesson. If you want the latest parts (even though you do not need it), buy them yourself or next time before you purchase or accept delivery on the firearm, check it yourself.
  11. Actually none of the 2014 Pros are coming with the latest sear blocks or frames (and no, this is not a sample of one; I pulled 6 Pros from one stores latest batch alone). My last 2014 Pro also did not come with the latest slide release revision (but my handful of 2013 non-Pros did). With that said the guns still work fine. My guess (and this is pure speculation) is S&W assembled quite a few Pro lowers many moons ago and they sat. Assembly was not completed until slides/uppers were installed and the guns were shipped (thus the 2014 shell casing dates). I know this may be disappointing to OP, but if the gun has no issue, S&W has nothing to fix for you. This is not an isolated incident where they made a mistake. With that said, if you do have an issue with an aftermarket non S&W sear, you can always order the newest universal manual safety SHB and slide release. I've never had trouble even with older Pros (with the small sear plunger) that have been used a bit with Apex parts so I never even bothered to upgrade the SHB. Keep in mind that the newer SHB with larger plunger will add to the trigger weight.
  12. This is what I have been hearing from people; and I think with me just starting out the M&P Pro out of the box will be plenty good enough for several years. I just picked up a few new ones. There are some variances from the scores of samples I just pulled at various retailers (build dates from October 2013 to May 2014). If you find a really good one, it will not need any Apex work. The new sears + H Trigger Bar + Newest Slidestop revision give a really nice out of option that minimize overtravel (the break still is in the 6-7lb range). The platform has evolved quite a bit from when I started using them in 2005. Define good? That is a subjective observation and one that I don't necessarily disagree with, however and in the end, the OP may not have the technical knowledge or even the desire to dick around with the trigger system on the M&P. That is why I responded in the fashion that I did. You're right, "good" is subjective. The latest batches of triggers still break heavy, but some samples will have less gritty pretravel. What I have found across the board is the H Trigger Bar + Newest Slide Release + a PC/newest stock sear will have very little overtravel out of the box. Across the board, it seems that the latest guns with the PC Sears are very workable options with breaks about a pound less than a stock sear and reduced reset distance. Interesting enough, the dozen or so COREs/Pros I looked at did NOT have the latest Slide releases. If the OP does not have the capability to install the Apex USB/Sear, he will not have the ability to install a FSS that you recommended for a limited build. As for the question of POA/POI, the answer depends. When shooting 9mm, the load itself will determine how it hits with a set of sights. For example, in my latest Pro (a 2014 build) with stock sights, the gun shoots to the top of the blade at 25 yards with 124gr ammo. If I shoot 115gr the impact is going to end up lower ("Combat Sight Picture"), if I shoot 147 grain it will be closer to a six o clock hold. The factory designed the gun to shoot behind the factory dot with 115 grain ammo.
  13. You don't need a gunsmith to get a good production legal trigger in an M&P. The latest batch of stock M&Ps break in very nicely, but if you want the better an Apex USB + Sear will give you a nice trigger.
  14. Agree on all points. I'd like to see an HTAC .140 - .150 rear as well...and maybe even a non serrated version
  15. Kinda like an Accushadow being a "production" gun...
  16. I don't think anyone has an ambi (not one you reverse) magazine release for the M&P.
  17. I liked the 13lb Glock 17 ISMI Recoil Spring with the Cajun 15lb Hammer. I know others who run 11lb Recoil/13lb Hammer as well and don't have issues.
  18. Agree. Awesome tip. I picked some from my local Publix Supermarket and it works very well. Didn't come off all day even after getting my hands wet!
  19. Yes they will. On the stock guide rod as well in the P-09 if you unscrew the end cap.

    New M&P

I wonder if the "tightness" matters? If it's accurate, will there be another problem? Will wear and tear accelerate? More recoil? The "slop" will not be an issue. The wonderful thing about the M&P is you can change the locking blocks and sear housing blocks which house the rails. I would be more concerned with how tight the barrel locks up into the slide, rather than any slide to frame fit.
  21. How much more do these weigh over a factory plastic basepad?
  22. Mobil 1. M&Ps aren't super picky about which lube you use. I personally stay away from Frog Lube/Roller Coaster Track Lube after seeing it put ARs out of commission...
  23. I may be wrong here, but I don't think it matters if it's done internally. I seem to recall this being an issue because the changes were being done on the trigger lever itself which is visible. I'm sure someone will set us strait either way. Thanks for the info! IIRC, the rulings in the past are in line with what Magsz is stating. Any internal change to affect pretravel still affects the external aesthetics to the gun when at rest. In the past, these triggers have not been allowed hence certain Vanek triggers were a no go in Production. How some triggers are getting approved that have less take up is beyond me.

  25. This should not be the case anymore. The tighter tolerances were rolled out in the Gen 4 barrels, but the latest Gen 3s should be the same.
