  1. Improving the mental game is just as important. Finding the way to bring your mental focus, even when you are not "feeling it" is a part of the game or games. Now, all that goes out the window if you overdue yourself. You are the only one that can make that call. I, personally, don't find it mentally difficult to switch between styles of shoots. If it gives you a problem, then follow Bkreutz advice, or find a way to up your mental game. Another way to go is to try to fit your match schedule to when you are sure you can bring the mental focus you expect to have and shoot whatever style of match fills the bill. Much of the differences in the game can be worked on in dry fire and not have a detrimental effect of switching styles of shoots.
  2. You used my name, all that follows is your mistake. Had you not done that, and responded to the OP, I would have had no reason to respond. Making assumptions about somebody is often a reason for them to get "wound a little tight". I am sure you don't want to hear my assumptions of your excuse.
  3. WTH are you talking about? I misread/misunderstood what tanks said earlier. He made a clarification for me, which I already responded to. Then you make a non-relevant post about points down. Now you make the assumption that I have not shot IDPA before, and that I have shot USPSA? I realize that you are giving guidance, based off of your assumption. So, I will leave that to those that the assumption fits.
  4. Gotcha. Misunderstood what you were saying.
  5. Maybe I missed something but, CCP is 8 rounds in the mags.
  6. I bet he knows that Carry Optics is minor power factor only. He didn't mention making major.
  7. When I built on a Lone Wolf slide it came bare, meaning no channel liner (plastic sleeve). It is very tight and difficult to install. However, if you use the correct tool it is very simple. Take a look for a channel liner install tool. Maybe, someone else has a cheaper way. But that is what I used.
  8. You would be right, if this discussion was about old rules. Considering that the title of the thread is "New Rules for 2017?", that might be a give away.
  9. I must have missed that. I don't see what you are talking about. Can you help me out?
  10. Neither squads or stages were locked to devices in my case. We were running 2 squads.
  11. I had the same problem as described above. A shooter was DQ'd and as you try to go to the next stage, the tablet would show "Practiscore has stopped working". Restarted Practiscore, restarted the tablet, but neither made any difference. I had a backup tablet that was able to score the remaining stages. I was able to pull the info from the "stopped" tablet to my phone, which had not been used in the match. When I did and tried to then pull up another stage it also would stop working. It seems clear that a DQ is causing the problem. Remove the DQ and it would then run.
  12. 6.6 should get you real close to what you want. I hope you are prepared for quite a bit of smoke. HS-6 will definitely be smoky.
  13. I'll add more to the bandwagon. DK and don't worry about any others.
  14. None. Could actually be beneficial. But they should be scored separately. Just become a "PRO" and quit your whinning. No more shooting against guys that are higher classifications than you.
  15. Just bring whatever gun and equipment you have and we will make a NEW Division for each competitor. Let's say like, "Polymer, 17 round, Limited, Minor, Optics, breastfeed". You must bring a note from your mom on the last part.
  16. Hell I want and Auto Division. Machinegun only. 2 round mag limit.
  17. That's exactly the problem I have with "Unlimited". You would be narrowing down the list of guns to a very select few. That's originally why IPSC went to 15 rounds. People were complaining that it was turning into an arms race. I don't know what the capacity is on all guns but I believe the max is 19 rounds. I know the XDm holds 19. I'm not sure what else does. Perhaps this could make the people that think metal framed CZ's have an advantage happy, since they only hold 18. Yes, I am aware of why IPSC went with 15 rounds. That's exactly why I chose 15 rounds. We all see somebody come out with their flavor of the week (new provision division of the week). Their usual thought process is, "I don't like the divisions that are available, because of one reason or another, and I want something that will fit my gun perfectly. Maybe give me a personal advantage. Hmm, I shoot an XDm and it holds more rounds than almost any other gun. That's it, make Production Unlimited. And all guns will have to still fit a box so I maintain my advantage." Another excuse for this post, Instead of spending my time working on learning how to reload and working them into my stage plan, I will spend it on the internet stirring the proverbial pot. In fact, I will make another post with a Provisioin Production 15. Or all of these: -BUG division. 6 rounds max minor scoring. -Limited Minor 15 -Production 15 -Limited Minor with Optics. 140mm mag -Lever action carbine -Tactical (lights, lasers, etc) -.22 pistol division. Introduce Ultra Minor PF -.22 Rifle division
  18. That's exactly the problem I have with "Unlimited". You would be narrowing down the list of guns to a very select few.
  19. Limit the mags to 15 and I'm with you. So basically, change production to 15 rounds instead of 10.
  20. New Carry Optics statement made just now. https://www.facebook.com/USPracticalShootingAssn/?fref=photo
  21. Following that logic, there would only be 3 Divisions, Open, Production and Revolver.
  22. I cannot think of an advantage. Maybe someone smart than myself can. But, in "Stock" (SSP), I see why you are not allowed to add something to your gun. Same rule applies in USPSA Production.
