  1. and to think I have been bugging you for years at SWPL over the +4's, lol. Are you going to make a custom spring and follower for them?

Yeah, it's the only way to get 23+1. We'll probably be retailing the spring and follower combo, with pad, for 41.99.

  2. I just had a conversation with Beven at Grams last week about base pads and it changed my opinion.

I was going to go with TTI pads because I thought they looked easiest to get off. Beven said one issue with the design is the way you slide off the pad it catches the spring which then over stretches during removal. He is getting reports of springs failing before their scheduled end of life and think the pads could be the issue.

Beven recommends his own pads or Dawson's to avoid the spring stretch. He mentioned some shooters have drilled a hole in the bottom of the TTI pad to use a tool to depress the spring so the pad can slide off without stretching the spring.

I haven't heard of any issues with spring failures strictly because of the spring. You can shoot me a PM with your number and I can have Taran talk to you directly.

  3. The round is hanging up on the indents of the tube. I think TTI may be able to form those farther down the tube. Might want to give them a call

That would be the correct answer, screwed around with a caliper to replicate the position and realized that the round was getting stuck under the bump on the mag body, Used a harbor freight sanding tool to make that more of a ramp and mags fit 23 and bench feed all 23 rounds without binding.

    http://www.harborfreight.com/air-tools/sanders/38-in-belt-air-sander-60627.htmlWas perfect for this job!

Were you the gentleman who called us earlier yesterday?

  4. I think they need to be shown what generation Pmag they are for on the website. The .308 extensions don't fit on a Gen 2 mag, but on a Gen 3. There was no indication on the site, when I bought them.

Noted, will fix it tomorrow! I know we have them on the .223 basepads, but it may not have made their way onto the .308 ones. Thanks for pointing it out!

  5. It is for CCW. I shoot limited.

Gotcha, then you should be fine. Different stippling and retexture can sometimes put you out of divisions like USPSA production if you stipple thumb pads and such.

  6. I want the Benelli M2 and I'd like to send it to TTI but I don't think I can make the schedule work out for the first match. Leaning toward the 1301 now with a tube extension. I figure if I like it, the 1301 will keep me entertained for a while before I go completely hog wild. I also got suggested the new Browning A5 but it appears to only hold 5 rounds and I didn't see a magazine extension for it.

    When's your first match?

February, but I've already bought a beretta 1301. Man now I feel bad with you guys being forum members.

Np, I was going to see if I could get it turned around for you quickly. We're coming up on about 250 bolts, which is most of the turn-around time.

    Enjoy your new shotty!

  7. Well, maybe my disdain is misplaced when I say "STI". Stock base pads and internals I might have an occasional issue. The TTI ones that I'm running though, FTF last round almost every time plus a lot of double feeds. This is with all the recommended internals that TTI sells. Oh, and it pretty much happens regardless of which of the 9 mags I have them on is in the gun at the time. I was on the verge of trying other base pads, or sending them off to a mag tuner, but then I happened to shoot a hopped up G34, and that was that.

There are so many things I like about the Glock, such as the grip angle and overall feel, the aforementioned lack of manual safety to forget when dumping, and the utter reliability of the thing. The Glock mags have ZEV-branded TTI pads on them and they run flawlessly.

I'm not selling the STI, as I do think there might be a day when it would make the difference for me. In the meantime, I just really like that Glock.

P.S. Fellow Hi-Power fan here! How I wish the high-cap mec-gars fit in the USPSA gauge, before my mentor (probably wisely) talked me out of it I was *this close* to taking one to my first match!

    Hmm, which magazines are these?

  8. Hello: The 4mm Grams base pad is like the Dawson SNL ones. Grams 2.5mm is like the standard Dawson +1. I have both but prefer the Dawson's. I have a couple of broken Grams base pads here, never broke a Dawson. I have bent a TTI so I could not remove it. Shooters Connection is were I get mine from. Thanks, Eric

Shoot us a call and I'll get you a replacement. You might have an older version with a thinner bottom wall.

  10. So I'm setting up a Glock 34 for Limited (minor) for the 2016 Monster Match at Frostproof and the 2016 Custom Gun Classic because Taran Tactical had a nice Black Friday day sale and I got a bunch of TTI Firepower Base Pad kits at a good price.

I also ordered Taran's new Gen 4 Glock Magwell and realized it's not set up to deal with my large backstrap. My bad. Great product, but I should have asked before I ordered it so I'll have to send it back.

Is there such thing as a large backstrap friendly Gen 4 Glock 34 magwell that will play nice with the Taran Tactical TTI base pads?

I'm thinking of trying either the aluminum or brass Gen 4 Mag well from Dawson Precision.

Refunded that magwell for you, friend. Shoot it back to us at your earliest convenience. =)
