  1. Yes. The 929 is sold as 9mm for that reason- not 9x19
  2. Usually, you can keep the extractor and change cylinders. I have several guns I have done this on, and so far so good. This is not always the case for it working out this well, and you can always ship the gun and new cylinder to a qualified revolver shop to be 100% sure it’s correct.
  3. Take your time. It will go back. I like to use the flag to push it in, that seems to work better than a punch for me.
  4. Front: Dawson .200 tall .115 wide. Rear: Bowen .400 high .100 wide.
  5. Like a trigger stop. You can leave it out, just extra parts like the lock and flag. You may want to use the factory firing pin for cci primers. Most aftermarket don’t fair well against anything but federal.
  6. What Alec said. Order a Bowen.
  7. Set your mainspring for 100% ignition, then your rebound spring is just for the resetting of the system. The rebound is 100% personal preference. Some people get a 4 something pound trigger with a light rebound and are good with that. A lot of builders use the factory springs and adjust them rather than replace. The spring kits are popular too. I think it’s important to be able to experiment with both and decide what you prefer.
  8. Those numbers seem a bit off to me. Even with a bore to site distance of 1.5” (cmore standing up) and a 15yard zero, you aren’t 1” low until 4 yards. Fun fact: with that bore height and 15 yard zero, that’s also a 45.23yard zero, and the most the trajectory is ever off by is +.5” from 25 to 35 yards. This example will hold an X ring from 0-63 yards.
  9. Set crimp for accuracy. Don’t worry about bullet pull.
  10. I think what happens is that the extractor rod grows forward As it loosens, and with guns that lock up on the rod, it makes it difficult to open the cylinder. As far as I am aware, there’s no way for a loose extractor to cause the action to jam up. So in a 929, a loose rod won’t do anything to the action since the yoke is retained differently.
  11. Left hand threads on extractor rods. One drop of blue loctite and a decent hand tightening and you’d be good to go. Hopefully you’ll get your gun back in time to shoot for next season.
  12. I prefer to just modify the factory, but it’s very popular to get a JM mainspring and a Wolff 11lb rebound with lightened hammers.
  13. Try sizing your brass with a undersize or super die. Ideally you want to use the thickest available moons for reliability.
  14. 929 for limited and open in icore, USPSA and steel. 625 for idpa and Limited 6 in icore
  15. I got info from Mike on this too. I don’t want to share it because I haven’t personally tested it. Mark I think if you start with the Blue Dot load mentioned above, and load long, like 1.550 or longer, you can get some good data.
  16. Can you buy that online or does it have to be over the phone? They give you a price yet?
  17. I didn’t mind the rain. Gave everyone a chance to hang out and catch up.
  18. I’m not sure we are the best group to ask. I know it’s worth a lot more than I would want to pay for it compared to a collector. Maybe gunbroker would show what people are bidding them up to with or without sales? I wouldn’t use one of the buy it now options on there to get a realistic price, they’re usually way off.

Not sure the cost yet. But when I find out I’ll let everyone know. I’ve been too busy getting a new carbon fiber guy that I haven’t gutted that broken gun to mail in yet.
  20. I think until a shooter is below 70, a 617 is equal to other rim fire autos. Once you start getting towards the top of the game the gun you’re most familiar with is more important than the gun itself. I honestly think a 617 can break 70. No one has done it, but it’s plenty capable.

Some open major ammo got mixed into my practice ammo. That’s what I get for having someone help with my ammo. It wasn’t an extremely hot load either, 168-169 from a DVC. I don’t think titanium is the best choice for high pressure loads. I know there’s 327s and plenty of other factory magnums with titanium cylinders, but none that handle pressure like 9 major.

I have a cracked 929 cylinder if anyone needs to see that it won’t handle major.
