So I took the slide off for the first time to put some oil on the rails and saw these marks by the disconnecter. Should I be worried? Do I need to contact Ck or is this something that's cosmetic only and won't effect function and I should keep putting rounds down it. For reference I've only shot about 150 rounds through it so far and it's my first 2011 so I'm nervous.
Really don't know what could have put those marks onto the frame and if it did happen to make it through QC, it should not have.
It shouldn't impact the function at all, but if you want you can return the gun and get a replacement. We want you to be happy with your pistol.

Get the slide/frame fit done and fit the barrel. Install the recoil system and then you can put the whole assembly into the vise assuming the barrel fit is nice and tight. No need for an elaborate fixture.

Yes, you can use a 7/16" endmill. I would rough out the slot with a 3/8 first, then run the 7/16" in there.

Wow, sounds like I can't go wrong with any of my options! You have to love that.
BTW, I emailed CK Arms to ask if their mount would work with my Delta Point, and Matt Cheely answered within a minute saying that it wouldn't fit, but, if I sent him my Delta Point he'd make one for me that would. Now that's service!
Kudos, Matt. Check your mailbox, you'll have my Delta Point shortly.
I was just about to email you and ask...

The design prevents the over-insertion of the release into the grip so the magazine can drop freely. It doesn't keep the mag from over inserting.
The STI release will allow you to push it in far enough to trap the mag in the grip.

$29 on a carbide chamfer mill would probably be a better choice

Hi Matt, while I've got you hear I've got a question where I am I've found it nigh on impossible to get a 10-32 bolt that will work with the mount and fit in the cmore holes to mount it. I've got some nice M5 bolts that will work fine, is there any problem you know if running an M5 tap through the current 10-32 UNF hole to re-tap it to M5? I 'think' it should work but thought you may have more experience with the different threads. Still love the mount and it's by far the best fit on a tanfoglio V12.
I haven't tapped the hole out to M5 so I couldn't help you there.

With doc187's order that leaves 2 extras I believe. All US orders have shipped and international will go out this coming week.

C-more screws are 10-32.
The posts are an interesting idea...

Any way I could get a silver one?
They're all going in the same batch so all black.

At least A. I shoot about 1-2 match a month, have only has two practice sessions and easily made A as my first classification.
So you never practiced with a handgun? Bought a gun, shot two practice sessions, no other training and classified as A?
Anything is possible and I seem to recall a few who made GM at their initial USPSA Classification, but I think most of those has some sort of background in firearms.
I'm sure it is possible for someone out there to pick up a gun and shoot an A classification, but they would be few and far between.
I certainly had a background in firearms, shooting bowling pin and PPC matches. Had a Master classification as my first in Production, and I had never shot anything with quick reloads or movement.

I will get these mounts run in the next week or two when I get back from SHOT show.

I placed an order with a well respected Gunsmith to build a 1911 framed open Steel Challenge pistol with an RTS2 optic. After searching, finding and reading this thread, and many others, I am concerned about the choice of the optic. I understand that steel shooting doesn't jostle or shock with the same force or power factor from ammunitions as USPSA open firearms, but I still don't want to be without a dot in the middle of an event. Does anyone have an opinion on a Deltapoint or a Trijicon RMR? I was considering changing before holes are drilled and it's to late to change things. The RMR Dual Illuminated seems very interesting to me.
The RMR is a reliable scope, especially when it's frame mounted, but the window is smaller than any other scope.

another vote for Cheely, Matt has built over 20 guns for me and they have all been reliable, rock solid performers
20???
I don't know if it's quite 20 yet, seems like it though. Adam has an addiction...

It's generally more expensive than most people would assume. 80% of the work in building a pistol is in the top end and fitting it & the barrel to the frame. Money is better spent getting a 2nd gun rather than a 2nd top end.

Matt Cheely makes a nice mount, Arredondo also makes a really cool mount. Others also make custom mounts, JV Dynamics makes custom mounts when ordered he will make one. Hope this helps.
Is Matt making one for the deltapoint now?
No I was waiting for the Pro version to come out incase they change anything about how it mounts. The latest scope mount design I'm working on will have a mounting platform that is sized to fit many different small scopes, so we'll be able to make a small change to the programming to make it fit different scopes.

I don't have frame/grip combos for sale on the webstore. Easier for you to pick the frame and the grip you want, and checkout. Then it's a DIY combo!
