The last time I cleaned it- a week ago I noticed what looked like a short hair line going across the area where the primer hits the breach face. I ran a stainless dental pick across it and it would hang up in it. I wasn't sure if it was a scratch or a crack, it's very small and doesn't show up when I take a pic of it. I'll just keep a eye on it.

I have just started seeing a ring around the firing pin hole and one small pit in my 9 major open gun. Is there any particular primer that deals with primer flow better than others?
I chose 9 major so I could pick up brass at every stage and it wasn't just my particular brass. 38 super guys look like they are looking for needles in a hay stack.

I would say most of mine look like #3 or 4. I try only shoot the 9major brass once in the open gun, but still will load minor in it.

I've never had a primer that wasn't flattened from my 9major. I started with load data from someone that I bought the gun from. I check the powder charge and oal more often when I load 9major ammo. I also check the powder charge with balance scales and digital scales.
The first 800 rounds without a hicup, then this weekend both 140's crap put. I don't think the diameter has changed. I think I stuffed to many in there, weak springs, worn follower.

Your prob. right, I put 25 rounds in it during the match, but when I practice I usually just put 20 in. After each stage it messed up when I picked up the mag, there were 1-2 rounds stuck under the follower.
First time this has ever happened to me, during a match sat. My open gun mag spring was hung up and the follower was stuck at the bottom of the mag. This happened to 2 140 mm mags. Rounds were getting under the follower. What's wrong, needs new spring, follower?
Started in IDPA CDP, then ssp, revolver, esp. US Steel challenge. USPSA production, then limited. 3 gun tac.optics. now uspsa open and idpa ccp. A different gun, match and class every weekend. I like to shoot all of them.
If possible shoot both of them before you buy. I started with a STI and it's awesome, but the cz is to. 9 major is the way to go, it's easy, cheap and is everywhere.
