  1. Just finished a trip down the road to Gramercy yesterday and bought 1,000 rnds each of .40 S&W 180gr. and 9mm 124gr. I also got a sample pack of 110 gr. to try in .380 Auto. I'm assuming that a crimp that is just enough to remove the bell should be sufficient for the 9mm bullets. I loaded a few .40s yesterday and found that I needed to lower the RCBS crimp a bit just to size the bullet so that it would feed into my SR40. I loaded with HS-6 and used Lyman 49 as a guide for lead bullet powder dose and OAL. I'll load some 9mms this afternoon with WSF and see how they fly tomorrow.
  2. Hi all, I am a newbie to this forum. I have owned and shot mostly handguns since the early 70s, and after a hiatus of a decade or so have begun shooting again. When the price of a box of TulAmmo 9mm hit nearly $50.00 a box and that's all I could get, I began to reload 9mm, .40 S&W and .380. As a newbie, I find myself frequently in search of loading data. The Lyman manual is often sparse and seems to give very low minimum loads. The Hodgdon site seems quite good, but often has holes in the data in terms of bullet types (more extensive than Lyman 49th though). I have run across this site on several occasions, so I thought I might join it. I'm not a competition shooter (retired competitive fencer instead), but I really enjoy shooting and my wife does as well.
