  1. Nice rig! Can you explain what your "+1 follower modification" entails. I also use TTI base pads and extended springs and also get 20 rounds reloadable. What special do you do to the followers? Thanks, Adam.
  2. How does one tell if the squad shoots AM-PM-AM or PM-AM-PM? All squads are labeled as Sunday 7:45AM.
  3. Neither Lake Wales or Sebring are known for their culinary delights. However, eating at Norby's is a tradition among shooters and Woody's has good BBQ. http://www.norbysgreatsteaks.com/index.html http://www.woodys.com
  4. I just wanted to give a shout out to the guys at 21st Century Gunfighter. They replaced my broken magazine release without any hassle or cost. I always appreciate a company that stands behind their products.
  5. Domineaux and CPW1265, Thanks for the response. Would you mind pulling your mag release out and reporting back on any wear (the tab on mine was completely eaten away). Although I am likely to go with the metal version, I am interested in hearing on how other releases have wore over time and use. Thanks, Adam.
  6. Has anyone experienced a failure of the magazine release? During the make ready command, my M&P Pro 40 would not retain a magazine - it just slid out repeatedly. Upon removal of the Costa Catalyst extended magazine release, the reason was clear - the tab which retains the magazine had worn off completely (after 1.5 years and 3000 rounds). I would like to hear of any similar experiences with the plastic Costa Catalyst - in order to determine if this is typical wear or unexpected failure. I would also like to hear if anyone has had issues/failures with the metal extended magazine release made by LF Arms. Thanks in advance, Adam.
  7. Maglula UpLULA Universal Pistol Magazine Loader - the only way to go!
  8. In modifying my production gun within the 2oz. weight limit, I came up with the following: M&P’s captured guide rod and spring weighs 0.92 ounce (26 grams) SSS’s steel guide rod weighs 0.84 oz. and the tungsten guide rod weighs 1.7oz. Depending on brand, an uncaptured recoil spring weighs between 0.18 ounce and 0.32 ounce. Assuming the higher weight for the uncaptured recoil spring, the uncaptured guide rod and spring total 1.16 ounces for steel and 2.03 ounces for tungsten. Therefore, the net increase by going from a captured to an uncaptured guide rod is 0.24 ounce for steel and 1.11 ounces for tungsten.
  9. TTI for M&P 40 - 20 rounds reloadable. They also disassemble quickly without tools for cleaning. No need to look at any others.
  10. Thanks for the input. I intend to go with a Ruger 22/45 lite.
  11. Does anyone use or have an opinion on the Beretta U22 NEOS? I am considering one for my daughter to use for SC. Thanks in advance. .
  12. From apex site: The APEX Duty/Carry Action Enhancement Kit (DCAEK) was designed to provide the M&P (9 mm, .357 Sig & .40 only) pistol owner a smooth, consistent 5 - 5.5 lb trigger pull with the advantages of shorter over-travel and shortened trigger reset. Otherwise, best to take it to a gunsmith.
  13. One and two days to go and we have 58 shooters pre-registered - this step will save participants time when arriving to OK Corral. Match breakdown: 6 Stages with 83 paper targets and 31 steel targets for 197 rounds. I am looking forward to a great first match.
  14. Two and a half weeks to go and we have 40 shooters pre-registered - this step will save participants time when arriving to OK Corral. I am looking forward to a great first match.
  15. Letter to USPSA membership here: http://uspsa.org/document_library/Public%20announcement%208-12.pdf It's like high school all over again
  16. Also at Universal - see http://www.mmwshooters.com/
  17. None in Palm Beach County. We travel to Markham park - http://www.sfpc.org/ Port Malabar - http://www.pmrpcipsc.com/plugins/servlet/mobile#content/view/589827 Universal Shooting - http://www.universalshootingacademy.com/ Between these three venues, you can shoot just about every weekend day of the month.
  18. I run a 9mm M&P Pro 5" in production using the standard BLADE-TECH Outside the Waistband (OWB) holster with the DOH and a sting ray belt loop (works well with a CR Speed belt). Good retention and easy to draw from. I also use the CR Speed mag pouches. As for mods, I installed a SSS Tungsten Guide rod with 14lb Wolff spring and have a Custom trigger job by Pedro Ortiz (Savannah, GA) - 3lbs, less take up, very little over travel and short reset. Hope that helps. Best of luck, Adam.
  19. MidwayUSA Competition Range Bag - very large, well made and reasonably priced. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/939259680/midwayusa-competition-range-bag
  20. If you email them, they will send you a price list. I then called in my order. Two day delivery for $26 to Florida.
  21. I just ordered a case of .40 major and it ships out the same day.
  22. Please clarify your post and problem - maybe with a photo to two. The tungsten guide rod that most M&P users have is an uncaptured guide rod and works with Wolff or ISMI springs (try 13 or 15 lbs to start). The SSS model number is 1669 for a 5 inch barrel - see link at http://www.speedshooterspecialties.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=103_91_217 I am not sure what you mean in stating that you are using a "stock" spring - the stock springs are captured springs and will not work with an uncaptured guide rod. Hope this helps.
  23. Why wouldn't the decision makers do a rotation of locations throughout Area 6?
  24. Sorry, my mistake. I did not realize that leaving out lines 21 and 22 in the 1/1/13 updated Limited chart was an elimination of these restrictions. Thanks.
