I'm estimating that I will hit 6.8 to 7.0g of CFE with a 125g blue bullet @1.150 to get around 170PF. Do you think I should start at 6.0g and work up from there? Maybe like 6.0, 6.2, 6.4......etc Or should I start lower? How would you do it? I'm using CFE, 125G RN Blue, S&B spp, and mixed brass. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk

Thanks! So the switches are probably touch sensitive and not pressure activated? Like I said, I barely had a chance to fondle the thing at the gun store before heading to work. Picked up the gun today. I didn't have time to break it apart but initial impressions are very good. Super tight lock up and slide fitment. Probably take a little breaking in period. Looks good. I ended up ordering a 170 and two of the 155's. Is it possible to convert 40 mags to 9mm? I have six of those in 140mm.

I'm new to 9mm major. Let's get that out there right now..... I have almost 20lbs of CFE pistol that's been sitting in my basement for close to 2 years I bet. I've heard some say that it might work for open buy I can't really find more than a few hits from searches and they are from 2014. Does anyone actually use the stuff for open? Is it recommended? Or should I leave this stuff in the basement and use a different powder?

Well I bit the bullet and ordered a CK from shootersconnection. I figure if I really love Open I'll order a custom later on and sell the CK or keep it as a back up. I got the CK Hardcore with the RTS2. Now, what kind of magazine setup should I buy to get started? 170mm, and two 140mm? Or three 155mm? Or what do you suggest? I enjoy the conversation as I've always wondered why people tended to stay away from 40 in open...... the only reason I'm hearing is strictly capacity and maybe cost of projectiles. Are there other reasons like perhaps 40 recoil impulse sucks compares to 9/38? Capacity is probably an issue on 1% of stages around here but probably a larger issue at the bigger matches. Yep, that's how I decided to go open. I bought a Walther PPQ Q5 with a FF3 and just absolutely love the dot and can see it much better than iron sights. My eyesight acuity and clarity seem to be fading. I hate the trigger and grip compared to my 2011 so I thought the logical conclusion was to merge the two. Dot on a 2011 platform and getting major scoring to boot! Oh, I re-read your post and I see your saying to play more with the CO gun before going all out on a open gun. Right?

Interesting....... I wonder why .40 is not used much in open. Can't but just be the round count, right? Seems like it would produce plenty of gas to work the comp. Plus safer to load ammo.
