  1. The barrel can't properly tilt without it
  2. His Instagram showed the gun before he left the states
  3. A small crescent cut out at the 6 position?
  4. Having shot the 9 Days of Nationals all the matches, or two major matches in different states over a 4 day period I can sympathize with how draining this can be.
  5. The "new" high cap, minor only, iron sights division you feel might be coming down the pipeline is prod 15. And yeah at this point I don't really care if divisions turned into separate ones of maj and min to the exclusion of the other. Well, a sense of history and nostalgia...
  6. I just watched my video of the 2017 idpa classifier and I say you shoukd be able to make MA with the new one easier if you practice at all and aren't a wuss. Haha I was definitely blunt
  7. Because many of you have never seen, or even shot, here is me doing it and talking about the strategy to do well on it. https://youtu.be/41RIqO-H49s?si=n5n8hAOnY9z7qSEm
  8. True, having shot MA on the older 90 round it was indeed a way to separate people. And it was definitely a broad test of match skills. No surprise, given its similarly to the Hackathorn standards. (Google the name new kids) Personally, if I can't shoot MA in any division on the 5x5 cold, then something is wrong with me.
  9. As I've said many times, "If you're good at sand bagging you only do it once." Yeah, people plaque and match bump hunt all the time. Interesting thought, to match bump you only need to beat 5 people at that day and time. But to do it via the classifier, you have to be ALL the people who shot it to get the numbers used. So bumping via the classifier is actually a skill "win" over a greater number of people..... And yes, I was at the Nats where the 5x5 data was gathered and I did shoot it.
  10. I do not miss solid walls. They made stages much harder. And yes, lim major is decreasing in popularity. And in Jan 2024 we'll have "does the new 15rnd limit mean prod will grow?" threads I look fwd too
  11. Not being trite, but the match search function on practiscore shows quite a bit if you can drive a little
  12. There was a time not long ago when there was no 'equity bump' in idpa. Now you can't be classified more than one division apart with pistols, so there is no one who is say MA in ssp and and then MM in esp. That used to happen a long time ago, but the rules changed.
  13. We used to do tons of this on early tac sports, cutting the dust cover back, for the very reason you mention.
  14. Thank you to those who've wished me well. I do appreciate it and it makes the work easier.
  15. I wore it at the AR section match this weekend. Shadow 2, Prod set up. You can tell it is not as laterally stiff as other belts. But I liked it much better how it could tighten exactly how I want and sit where I want on my hips/waist.
  16. From the Atals tuning thread pinned, you can make some good inferences for a TS
  17. Just have everyone put 'WML' as part of their name if they're running one when they register. Run all the other stuff as normal but you now have a way to see at a glance who had one. Orrrrr.... as I've seen other places they just make the match in practiscore time plus and make two divisions, hand held and wml and that's it.
  18. I've been away from competing seriously for over a year and half due to a major illness/injury. So just a reminder for myself and others.... Don't travel to a match without a spare gun. Don't make any changes to your gun before a match unless you can extensively test them. Check the zero of your gun as close as possible to the day your fly or drive out. If you're using ammo you bought versus made, get extra and check it. No matter what. Function, chrono, grouping. Don't "think" something is right or will work, but rather know.
  19. Got the Eley Competition 9mm 147gr ammo today. Ran it in my gen 5 Glock 17 and a Shadow 2 Orange. It made pf in both of them. It functioned perfectly being slowly hand cycled and then shot in both guns. The extreme spread in the Shadow 2 Orange was 74fps, the standard deviation was 14, and the average pf of 10 rounds at random was 129.7 power factor. The rounds very consistently measured 1.142" for me. Round nose profile. I shot 10 rounds, standing freestyle, at 30 yards into a (size medium) fist sized group. This is great for me so super happy with the accuracy as well. I feel very confident picking up 550 rounds of this at Prod nats in a few weeks.
  20. your tldr, it's like a cr speed belt with a ratchet and takes a few minutes to set up. now just a stream of conscious observations I wear a 30" pant or sometimes 31". I originally did mine for 31 and ended up redoing the sizing for 30 inches. they say you can cut the belts with scissors to size them, i used diagonal cutters. the inner and outer belt are almost the exact same thickness. the outer belt measured 0.24", compared to a daa premium measuring 0.40 the set up isn't really ambidextrous due to the buckle design. i used a "regular' keeper from another belt for the tail. it feels about the same stiffness as a cr speed belt. so not the stiffest but better than a regular single bet for sure. the inner belt part that can be shortened must be worn in the same place as the buckle for it to work right. i wear my usual double belts with the inner belt overlapped in the back and the outer in the front. not so here. it takes some time to set up, especially if you're like me and you don't trust the directions and are afraid of cutting it too short, so it took me a while. i only utilized their printed instructions, not anything online or in video form. my boss hanger and daa racemaster pouches mounted up perfectly. I did move things about 1/4" forward because of the smaller circumference I could acheive. but i am still running stuff at my hipbones... you can make it far tighter around your waist than any regular double velcro belt. is it a 126 dollar belt? i don't know. if you bought a ratchet kit, the kore inner belt and converted a belt you already have would you be ahead? I don't know... especially if that type of conversion is out of your skill set. I used it in a live fire session at the range today, one heavily focused on movement. the belt was completely unnoticeable, which is perfect for new gear. I am going ot use it in the AR section match this weekend.
  21. No, I do not have the ammo I'm using physically with me. No, I have not used this ammo before. I put myself in a rough spot I know. To resolve the issue I ordered some of the same ammo to be delivered to my house next week. So I will have a week to work with it in my match gun to see how it all goes. Rather than finding out in the practice bay the morning of... I know all these rules, I've shot CZ's since 2014, I worked for a CZ gunsmith and yet here I am..... 1050 or 1100 need to get back in stock for 9mm....
