Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Thanks Sarge. I'll give that a try. Furrly- STI Mags. 140mm, 40 cal Dansedgli- I'll check that first! I didn't imagine fitting the grip would be necessary, but thought I should ask. Thank you.
  2. I tried searching with no avail, if I missed it, please link me to it. Anyhow, I recently installed a new factory STI grip on my Edge. After the install my mags no longer drop free. Did I install something incorrectly or do they need to be worked after installing? If they do need tuning, just a file and take my time to widen it out? I've not worked on a grip like this in the past, but I am generally speaking, quite capable. Thanks in advance!
  3. +1 for Safariland 5189 for G17 I've also just started using the DAA PDR holster. It's nice thats it's lined to not damage the finish on your gun but it seems to be a little sticky so far. I've seen people recommend Teflon spray inside to help break it in. It's on my shopping list.
  4. Ok! Got the answer.... Just got off the line with STI and apperently it sounds like it was my fault... Mostly. The thought is the second stop ( I guess it's called) with the ears that are supposed to rest against the barrel wasn't quite lined up. It was close enough for the first few times I opened the slide, but got twisted around at some point and locked up the barrel. STI is working on a redesign but for the time being they are offering new recoil masters with the little ears ground off. I opted to continue to use mine, and just be more careful. If it happens again I'll request the stop gap until the redesign is available. As many others have said, great customer service!
  5. How were you able to free yours up? I think I'll call STI in the AM and see what they have to say. I'm guessing what BigGabe said is probably true, but I'll update here tomorrow.
  6. That was my first thought, but would the slide have racked at all? I was able to slide it back 5 or 6 times at the least before it got stuck.
  7. Looking for a little help with my new Edge... here'e the rundown... Friday night I finally had time to degrease my edge and clean it for the first time. Broke it down, cleaned it, and lubed it. Reassembled. Everything was going well so far. Racked it a few times and started a function and safety check. First up was to again check the chamber before I dropped the hammer just to be sure it was unloaded. Tried to open the slide and nothing. It was stuck. The slide would move about 1/4" rearward then stop- lock up hard. I checked the thumb safety- fine. Checked the slide stop- also clear. Inspected the magazine well and nothing appeared inside either. For the life of me I couldn't find what was suddenly hanging up the slide. I tried the usual 1911 fixes for a stuck slide- holding the slide as open as it would go and then whacking the grip- nothing. After searching the web and finding nothing, I was getting desperate. Grasping at straws I saw the tip of the recoil master was sticking out just a hair if I brought the slide back as far as it would go. Having seemingly run out of options I pulled the end out, put the removal tool on, and suddenly the slide came free. Has anyone had anything like this happen? The only thing I can come up with is the little tabs on the recoil master somehow got spun and were locking the barrel lugs to the slide, sticking the slide in place. What I can't figure out though it why this would happen after the gun had been racked a number of times? Any help would be great. Thank you.
  8. Is the inventory live? I'm about to pull the trigger and order, but I'm having a hard time believing the number!
