Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Bought a shotmaxx and got it a few days ago. Only used it for dry fire par times. Excited for apps to come out, hopefully for both android and iPhone.
  2. Does anyone have loads for a factory flock 17 using this powder, and 124gr falcon hard cast lead? I'm literally setting up for reloading (just waiting on the primer tubes for my used Dillon sdb I bought, and my bullets). Haven't loaded before, my in laws bought ne the wrong powder for Christmas and I can't find anyone to trade with. No powder to be found where I live, 150 miles from Wal-Mart or gun stores.
  3. I suffer from this also. With my RMR Glock, (stock but has zev tech connector and gen 3 trigger bar), I can go 5 for 5 on a 3x5 card at 20 yards. But when I try the f.a.s.t. test, I have the first round in the lower portion of the card, and the next one drops below the card. Don't notice being low on the body shots tho. I have to slow way down to keep them on the card. But if I'm not timed, I can almost put 2 in the card faster than in the fast test. Man I need instruction.
  4. I can do a 1.5 most of the time....I have a trainer too but need a 1. I am buckling down on working out and this is part of it, so hopefully I can rep the 1.5 soon! Awesome thread. My friends laugh at me for using CoC's.
  5. So y'all get a full firing grip from iwb too? I have trouble getting a full firing grip, fully, from aiwb.
  6. Ill have go give that a shot. I shot one mag yesterday and didn't have to adjust my grip. I just squeezed harder with my right hand, and used my fingertips as a hard ledge....scooted my left hand back also where it's touching part of the blackstrap basically. I think I found a winner. Thanks fellas
  7. Ah, that makes sense. I need to squeeze more with my right hand. Should I apply pressure from pushing my hands together? Like smashing something in front of you, using your chest muscles to squeeze your hands together
  8. I also considered adding the medium blackstrap so I have more area for my palm there. But that might negatively effect a different aspect.
  9. Thanks bud. Ill watch the video when I get home (only get "edge" out here so no video). So I need to squeeze my right hand harder so that it makes a more solid ledge for my left palm, right? I also thought about that texture part.....grinding that panel down and adding grip tape to it.
  10. Here's a couple pics: Never mind new members can't post pics I guess . What seems to happen is that my left palm pushes my right hand fingers farther foward towards the front. If I squeeze the snot out of my right hand too, I can control it, it seems. But I always heard not to do that, as you can't control your trigger finger as well when you squeeze your trigger hand hard.
  11. Hey guys, I have a question. A couple of pieces of info first. Right handed, snd a beginner. Shooting a gen 4 g19 with a RMR 8moa, slide milled by mr Housel and has BUIS. I have medium/smallish hands. I can close a CoC #1.5 most days with each hand. Can pump out lots of reps with the trainer ;I skipped the #1 but will get it soon). When I am shooting, thumbs forward, grip taught by the knowledgable people (from books and video), my left hand slides forward causing me to readjust my grip. Even if I squeeze the heck out of my left hand, it still does it. When I squeeze harder, it wants to slide farther forward, over my fingers of my right hand. Squeezing my left hand doesn't quite work like a c clamp, I assume my my fingers are too short. It's more like a c clamp that's more on the left hand side so it slides forward on the left and farther back on the right side. If my fingers were longer, it would actually be a left to right clamp. Any ideas or tips? I just can't seem to keep it from slipping no matter how right I squeeze. Thanks guys, Ian
  12. Culberson county. I think there are matches in midland, and El Paso.
  13. Thanks bud. Yes I have my own range....actually it's 40 yards wide so hopefully I can host a class or two someday. I have a friend here that shoots gssf and used to shoot uspsa, so I'm sure hel talk me into it. I finally got over all the hate between "tactical" shooters and competition shooting. Realized that shootinh fast and accurately is what it's all about....and nobody does that better than competition shooters.
  14. Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a rancher, 26yrs old, live in west Texas. Not new to guns, but new to actually trying to be "good" with a pistol. I ordered a square deal b for reloading 9mm so I can shoot more, and just finished brian's book, and have j michael plaxcos book due any day. Lots of knowledge here.....I mainly am here to learn to shoot well for self defense more than competition. Tho I will go to some local competitions for fun. Thanks, Ian
