Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I like it alot in 40. 4.5gr under a coated 180 gr blue at 1.175. Also 4.1/4.2gr under a coated 200 gr blue at same oal. Averages 10 or less on sd. Used 5.0 grs with 180 hp fmj Precision Delta at area 6 match and had 6 sd at chrono and a 173 pf. All shot with a 5in sti
  2. I say a little less extractor tension. With the slide off, how tight is it to slip a cartridge into place on the breech face?
  3. This was an excellent match. I shot on Thursday, worked stage 5 all the other days. A very well run much indeed. Excellent stages, awesome competitors, and one hellva hosting range.
  4. I really like claydot, however, I have been using Cleanshot lately. I put the 8lbs jug of claydot up till further notice. 180gr coated bullet at 1.180 oal with 4.7 gr cleanshot is soft, clean and a 170ish pf out my sti edge.
  5. were the blue plates no shoots (penalties for hits and repainted between shooters) or hard cover?
  6. I use claydot, close to 10lbs worth. Really like it. 4.0 gr, 180 gr coated lead at 1.185 length and get an avg of 176pf and smooth recoil pulse. I have used some cleanshot to work a new load. Meters wonderfully with my lnl drop. Im at 4.5 gr under a 190 coated lead , 1.185 length and got a tight s.d.of an avg of 11 over a 10 shot group. A 173 pf easly with a soft recoil pulse. (sti edge )
  7. I use a lot of claydot (6lbs so far, with 8 to go) in 9mm, 45acp and 40sw major since no clays to be found anywhere.
  8. I had a great time. Shot like crap. Ending up with 2 no shoots and 9 mikes all day. Heck, I was willing to sign up for next year half way thru. looking forward to coming back
  9. locked up a Saturday afternoon spot. Looking forward to this. I hear its a great match
  10. Minor equipment as mentioned was a double stack 9mm (glock34 or a RI) and different holster. And you are correct. Lesson learned.
  11. I am the shooter in question. I signed up for this match in January 2 minutes after the registration opened. At the time, I was shooting minor in other class. I had just switched to limited (major). Didnt even think about again till half way thru the match. I was wondering why my H.F. was so low for the stages when the score keeper was calling them out. In my mind, I was thinking what a crappy day I was having. At the end of day 1 stages, we had a hour to call any gripes to attention. Everyone waived the gripe time so we could get the stages torn down and head out. On my way home I checked practiscore and see the "minor" listed by my name. HOLD UP, WTF buttercup. Started my panic emails and phone calls (thinking problem iissue was caught half way thru the match) So now, After a few emails back and forth with my RO;s and a CRO, and the match director, It was determined that since the chrono stage was being tossed (the chrono owner/operator shot it) due to damage and no back up on hand, the PF ruling was reverting back to registration. They (all ROs/CRO/ MD) say that there was no way to prove my power factor. Must go with what I declared, kindly put, I should have double checked everything at check in. I also asked, since I am going to be scored minor, can I shot minor equipment? NO was the answer, with rule numbers being stated. Fine, I will just now use this as an expensive practice day. (still had Sundays 5 stages to go).. I even brought a question of, How do we know if all the other "major" declerations are true? Can I protest all other major shooters? (would never have done that, it was just a question) Answer was, Since no chrono, all other shooters go by registration. Lessoned learned. The hard way, And yes, I believe it cost me at least a top 3 finish in my class, No big deal in the end. I still shot, shot like crap, had more fun than anyone else there. And even caught my screwed up SC state registration. (thank god, I would have been pissed then)
  12. 9130 Kensington Dr Waxhaw NC 28173 www.cr-pc.org I will be in for some of the 4th Sunday matches. Looking foward to them
