  1. Yup, for the past few years the matches are more of a social shooting event for me, which keeps them fun. I get to hang around and shoot with a bunch of buddies. Doesn't get much better than that. I NEVER do any dry fire practice, and my performance shows it, but I don't care because it's all just for fun these days. But, if USPSA isn't doing it for you. Grap yourself a shotgun and try Trap. I started that last year and I had no idea how much fun sucking at trap could be. Or, build/buy yourself a precison rimfire or centerfire rifle and start shooting that? It's all about the shooting, not the competing. And, yeah Shred, I know this isn't directed at you, it's for the OP, but I just grabbed your post to reply. I guess I suck at forums too, but this place is still fun...
  2. Yup, first I bumped up my spring to 15 lbs I think, then had to bump up my ammo, which was a bit on the light side anyway. It ran good this summer, I liked not having to worry about positive ignition and never had any light strikes.
  3. I use a Site-Lite STL-100 for long guns. It works great. I never even considered one for handguns. Just shoot at a big target, up close and adjust as necessary. I suppose if I wanted one for handguns the cartridge type would work plenty good enough to get you on paper. I guess I could also use my Site-Lite, but just never thought of it.
  4. Glad to hear that. I had been postponing my next chrono session until you reported back. thanks for the update.
  5. Lol, I've double replied, or asked the very same question on 2 consecutive days because I forgot I already asked it. But, as a follow-up, I shot mine all last winter with a 407k and loved it. Switched to centerfire for the outdoor season, but will be switching back to the P322 for indoor steel over the winter and am looking forward to getting it out to play with.
  6. Definitely waiting to hear back on how this works. I have to chrono some more ammo next week.
  7. yeah, that’s a good idea, I may have to do that as well. There’s just a few other items I need to get first, but a backup PAL Filler is definitely high on the list.
  8. Well, based on the tone of your message, and their response to you, I guess it’s safe to assume that the 4 messages I sent them were all “dismissed”. i sent mine while at the range, and I was quite upset because I had limited time, and needed to get through a chrono session. Then when I got home and found one they changed the export process, I sort of lost it. I probably should send them an apology, but I’m still a bit torqued about it. No matter how they changed the app, there was absolutely no reason to change the format of the exported data. It’s a simple CSV file, why change that??? Now none of my excel import macros work and I don’t have time to try and fix them.
  9. I agree. I used it in July and it was fine, then I took it out yesterday after the update and they screwed up everything. Yes, it still records the velocity of your shots, but they totally hosed the export function. who in the heck exports a Zip file via email these days??? Many mail servers don’t even allow them to pass because they are easy to hide viruses in. And why did they separate every shot string into its own CSV file? That’s ridiculous. And, they don’t export any of the “custom” fields. Heck, that’s where I put important load data like the OAL of the cartridge. They totally blew it with this update. Oh yeah, the graph that gave you a quick look at shot velocities no longer works in landscape mode, and you can’t see all your shots on the same window. You have to scroll off to the sides. I was very disappointed, don’t they actually check any of this crap before pushing out an update that changes everything? I am clearly annoyed as I keep all my data in a spreadsheet and now it no longer works. I sent them 3 or 4 messages yesterday through the app. I hope more people do as well.
  10. Getting mine checked next week, I'll be curious what it is...
  11. Thanks, I’ve been researching since I posted this. I think you’re right. I keep going back and forth. I already ordered a cheap rail to replace the sling studs which will let me use a bipod I already have to start practicing, until I can get to a match and check out some gear. I’ll hold off buying a bipod for this rifle until then.
  12. Giving this a little bump, because now I want to try it out. Just ordered a lefty Bergara R-14R rifle to get me started. What are you all using for a picatinny mounted bipod? I’m skipping the ARCA rail for now. I was looking at the Atlas bipods and noticed some do NOT allow for canting left to right. Why wouldn’t you want the cant feature? They are a little cheaper, but it seems to me you would want the mobility in a bipod. Please set me straight. Thanks.
  13. Who makes a decent aftermarket MOS mounting plate for these Sig red dots? Thanks.
  14. Glad to hear it. I’m 4 years behind you in age, but many more in fitness habits. I'm just starting to get a handle on this whole fitness/nutrition thing. I hope I’m able to stick with it. I figure when I eventually retire and have more time to shoot, I want to still be able to do it.
  15. For me, it was to maintain my RO status. I’ve been a member of USPSA since 2005, and an RO since 2009. I’ve never shot anything above a level 1 match. And in the last 5+ years I’ve shot only 2 actual USPSA matches. The rest have all been “Action Pistol”, falling steel, and many other unofficial matches, but I’ve maintained my membership because I liked keeping my RO status active. I had renewed just prior to the rate increase announcement, without knowing about the increase. I’ve been sort of wondering for the last few years why I renew, now I won’t have to wonder as I won’t be renewing.
  16. Thanks, I’ve had very good luck with Euro-Optic and also Kenzies Optics. I’m just not ready to pay street price yet. As for the wider window, I’m wondering if it will be better for me, since everything I see is “through the window”. I have a very narrow field of vision so I tend to not see what’s not in the window, or very far outside of it. I’ll have to che k one out at the next match, I’m sure there will be at least a couple in use.
  17. personally, I think the 3moa dot size is too small for a pistol, and probably too large for a rifle. I would not be interested in it, too many other options available.
  18. I have 3 SROs, all less than 3 years old. I have two mounted on Glock 17s (primary & backup), and 1 spare that I haven’t decided what to do with yet (covid panic buy) that I use for action pistol/USPSA matches. One of them stopped working at about the 1 year mark. When I opened the cover to replace the battery, a couple of the finger contacts fell out. They must have broken off the circuit board. Trijicon was great, and replaced the optic, but it took just over a month to get it back. Luckily I wasn’t waiting for it. I like the 5moa dot and have no complaints with the performance. I just wonder if I’d like the bigger window of the XL a little more??? Although, I didn’t realize how expensive they were. They’re almost $200 more than an SRO!! Does anyone know where the best deals are to find one in stock? Preferably somewhere that offers free shipping, and no tax? Maybe my best bet is to wait for Black Friday since I don’t really “need” it just yet.
  19. Bumping this to see if opinions have changed. I'm now considering one of these to play with on a Carry Optics Glock. I was thinking about the new Holosun 507Comp as well, but can't make up my mind. Currently shooting SRO's, but I think I'm going to be needing another optic so now's the time to evaluate...
  20. I have one with a JG Vex trigger that is very nice. It's on my backup G17, but that gun will become my primary by the end of the summer.
  21. I don’t think it’s an advantage, just “different”. Like I said, I won’t replace any of my SRO’s with it, but the next time I need another red dot, I will definitely consider it.
  22. I have both of those guide rods, and the Wolff gen3 springs will all work. When Wolff says they’re not for gen 4 or 5, they really mean you would first have to get a new guide rod, and adapter, which you seem to have done.
  23. Hmm, not sure why you posted this here, but I will concur that they do good work. They’ve done two Glock slides for me and I’m very happy with their work.
  24. Hey all, looking for an assist here. I’m trying to find out what the OAL is of a CR Speed outer belt, end to end. I would like to get the lengths for sizes 34, 36, 38, and 40 if possible. so if you have one and want to measure it, I’d appreciate it. Thanks, -Cuz
  25. Why not use the ratchet belt without an inner belt? As long as the belt is secure, you don’t need to use an inner belt.
