    aw...cute....but in a morbid way...
  4. I myself have never had any surgery done, and although I wanted to at one point, I changed my mind. I'm not sure about my eyesight, all I know is that I'm nearsighted and it's pretty bad. My English professor is legally blind and has been for a few years now. She suffers from Diabetic Retinopathy and from Cataracts at the same time. So, it would be like looking through incredibly cracked, foggy glass panes. In 1999 she went to her eye doctor and he noticed that there was some damage to her retinas. He told her about Lasik surgery which could possibly fix it, but the risk of her waking up blind was very high. He recommended that she not get the surgery done, and that it was just an option for her. She ended up getting the surgery and when she woke up from it, her retinas had been damaged even more by the lasers and became how she is now. Every time she goes to sleep, even to just take a nap, she has a 50/50 chance of waking up completely blind. This is because, while a person is asleep, the eyes are still active in what is called (REM) and this puts more stress on the retinas. The result could end up with her retinas being completely seperated from the rest of her eyes, and permanently losing her eyesight. I've worn glasses since I was eight, and contact lenses since I was fifteen. Although they are a hassle at times, I would rather have to deal with them and be able to see than to lose my eyesight. I don't mean to sound biased, and sway you in a certain direction, because the results are differet for everyone. As for me, I'm not going to take the risk. Good luck with your decision and I hope things turn out well for you. -Lucielle
  5. aw what a sweetheart. i own a big ol' St. Bernard, and although he's no longer very young...10 years old...he's still my cuddly puppy...he's the stereotypical St. Bernard, long shaggy hair, floppy ears, droopy eyes, paws as big as your head, and to top it all off...enough slobber to replenish the oceans if they ever go dry... speaking of puppies and the range...at some matches, you can see me with my other 'puppy'...he's real cute too, and well known. his name's BJ Norris...
  6. ...wish we had a Goldilocks here in MD...all the good Filipino stores and restaurants are in Cali... ...
  7. hehehe ambot...that is my favourite word... ugh gross, balut??? i can't eat that stuff. it freaks me out. now, pulvarones and lumpia...yum yum yum...especially pulvarone with pinipig. and fresh lumpia, with the brown sauce...heavenly... .... and YES my mother is married... ...
  8. Whoa, wait a second...300#...what are you implying here??? ....??? And yes, I do date a shooter... ... shooters... psh... hehehe
  9. Wow rhino, your family must have some REAL strong genes...or something...it'll be quite a challenge for anyone to live up to that. Any man is quite a hero if he still gets it on at the age of 80...and being able to father children...::whistles::...now THAT is a feat... And yea, you have some pretty high standards there rhino. But if you want to know about my sister ( her name is Kathy )...BJ will be more than happy to fill you in on her little quirks... Wait a minute! I am NOT a dating service here...but uh, she goes to the highest bidder. Just get her away from me... ... Kimberkid-- How far away do you live? If you live farther away from Maryland than Indiana...that'd be good...oh, and BTW...lol who are you??? ...
  10. ...when you say small, do you mean the number of members in the family? or the stature of the people? or the size of the people? lol...mmm don't answer that question... rhino-- I just happen to have an older sister. But, she isn't that much older. She just turned 21 this year. So, I guess it'd be ok...she's legal. I'm not too sure if she would want to move to Indiana...but I sure don't mind if she does... ...one less annoyance for me...And, we don't look a thing alike. I'm not sure if that's good or bad though... ...
  11. hmmm very interesting... what is it with IPSC guys and Julie??? lol sorry, I'm not a guy...I can't really be attracted to her...but I will admit she's good looking... I'm liking those pictures from the "Flats"...and yes, the irony is impeccable. I especially enjoyed the wildlife shot... ...and here I thought that the only gorillas in the US were in zoos. Guess I was mistaken...
  12. Haha, good job rhino. Who taught you that? I don't know what you look like, so I can't comment... ... But, from what BJ told me...::Gag:: ... Haha, just kidding. Yea, I have a friend who is also a Pinoy, but he was born and raised here. When we were younger, a few of us "Ilonggo speaking girls" used to snicker and talk about him infront of his face and he wouldn't understand it. We've kind of grown out of that...kind of. I still pity him that he can't speak or understand the language. He's a full-blooded Pinoy though. It seems like he's lost part of his culture... ... Wow, it's great to know that I've got some (distant) family here in the forums. I feel loved... !!!
