  1. Busted out the caliper and found something interesting. When I load the mag with rounds, the mag body arounds the mag catch hole expands by about 0.003". That was enough to make the mag drag around that area. So I clamped the mag in a vise and pressed it to about 0.006". Now all the mags drop freely.
  2. It is exactly how I have mine, narrow on the left and wide on the right. Lefty here.
  3. Thanks for the tip Gary. Ill try to lightly pinch the mag body.
  4. I was testing function on my TS today. I noticed that the mags were not dropping free. There is already resistance just barely inserting the magazine. However, the mags will drop free when it is empty. I started to add rounds and check to see if its still drops and by the 6th round, it will start not to drop free. Interestingly enough, I tried my newer mags and they will drop free, regardless whether it is loaded or empty. The ones I have trouble are older, well used mags. Took out my grips (no problem there, CZC thin grips are shallower than the frame) and checked out the mag brake. the bottom part is free and clear but I cannot confirm on the top part near the pin. Any ideas? Mag brake? But the (older) mags drop when it is empty. Could it be the older mags expand ever so slightly when it is loaded? Thank you.

    CZ Open

Your right about that! I'm just skimming around how much it is to CM my TS up. The comp alone is already 245 bucks at CZ USA!
  6. Original barrel, likely fitted correctly. I escalated and was able to speak with a different GS. Very pleasant and responsive. His feed back: 1. This is how CM's are built - they will end up with a rattle but gun is sound mechanically 2. Agreed that it's not reasonable to have to use a buffer - although still a good thing for practice trips (not match or SD) 3. Agreed that the rattle could be annoying especially price of gun / quality expected 4. He has chamfered the guide rod head on one side and feels this takes out the tiny slack caused by how the rod was seating, and eliminates the rattle I will post pics and test results once I get the gun back - but this encouraging. And if this fix holds, looks like it's a simple remedy that could be done by an LGS. Much happier with CZ response this time. Do you have to forcefully move the CM to make it rattle or just tipping it over and it already rattles? What gunsmithing did your LGS propose for the CM? I too would be disconcerted if I had spent a lot of money on a CM and it rattles easily.

Can a TS in .40 also play in Open? Are there comps available, big stick options? Or is it better to just convert a TS in .40 to 9 then play Open?
  8. That's a very flat shooting gun!
  9. You have SS Minor as an option. Doh! I always forget there is life after 45 in the 1911 world.
  10. Over a couple of years, I saw a shift form G34's to CZ's and Tanfo's here at my area.
  11. Easier Scoring: I give the edge to SS Easier Trigger: I give the edge to SS Easier Reloads: I give the edge to SS Easier Accuracy: I give the edge to SS Easier Recoil: I give the Edge to Prod Allowed Modifications: I give the edge to SS Overall: I give the edge to Prod. Wait, what?! Just a humble opinion for the mediocre C class shooter. For me, pickups is a way of life (lolz). Switching from Production to Single Stack this year, I absolutely miss those two extra rounds.
  12. Absolutely great point on the sear. The sear is only $9 whereas The safety is $35 at CZ-USA. I had the 1911 thinking that's why I thought of going for the safety first, thanks!
  13. I just installed a CZ Race hammer on my Tactical Sport. It was almost a drop in, but the sear/safety engagement is a wee bit tight. Do you fit the safety to the sear leg or fit the sear leg to the safety. I'm inclined to fit the sear into the sear leg. Thanks.
  14. Finally got my Tactical Sport from my Cerakote guy

    TS Modifications

Did a frame reduction on my CZ TS over the weekend. Just knocked out the 'waffle' checkering and flatten the hump on the lower rear back strap. The magwell flare on the front back strap is the part I had a hard time the most.
  17. I can seem to find it on the net; what is the stock recoil and hammer spring weight for the CZ75 Tactical Sport in 40? TS 40 shooters, what is your recoil and hammer spring weight? Thank you.
  18. Coming from the left, the door opens form right to left. I just check my Contour headcam and I didn't sweep my hand; missed it by probably 2-4 inches.
  19. Same here, mag button on the left side. Trigger finder on the frame while the middle finder do the work of releasing the mag. Did it on my m&p, now 1911, and probably on my CZ75TS in the future.
  20. I'm a sporadic USPSA shooter for the past 3 years and this is my 1st match DQ. We had a big level 1, SS/Prod. only match last Sunday. Targets on both wings and a door to enter in the middle to shoot more targets. Swept my hand while opening the door. Shooters in my squad told me lefties are riskier opening doors. Going through the motions, I can now see why. I was equally pissed and humbled by my DQ. At least now its ingrained in my brain what to do when opening ports in front of me ~ move the gun up!
  21. The pin that holds the elevation for my rear CZ Tactical Sport sight is backing out. I test fired my newly acquired (used) CZ TS in 40 for 50 rounds. I didn't even realize the pin that holds the elevation backed out by about 1/8 of an inch. Anybody experience this and cure the backing out pin? Thanks.
  22. I am looking around for my first chrono and saw Caldwell Ballistic Precision Chronograph. Price is very good and I do like that it has a smartphone interface. I am worried though about its reliability since it's fairly new (?). I was originally eyeing Competition Electronics Pro Chrono. Thanks
  23. I just want to ask if anyone have ordered parts form CZUB? Right now, it seems that they have CZUB short grip panels and anodized flat trigger. Is your transaction and shipping smooth with CZUB? Thank you.
  24. I used S_I mags as an example since most Limited shooters shoot 2011. I actually have a CZ75 TS w/ CZC pads, springs and followers. Seems like the mags fit 21 rounds, 20 reloadable.
  25. Thanks guys! My definition of reloadable was totally off. "My S_I mag holds 20 rounds, 19 reloadable." -I get it now, lolz
