  1. Why do you guys think they did not close the door and require single action only for LO? I thought that this division opened up for the 9mm, 2011 that is the hotness today but other CO guns can play in LO as well. (at least that how I read it) I mean, I am not complaining but thinking what is their thought process in keeping it open to CO guns as well.

The first shot is presumably racked by hand? Is the disconnector winding up in the right spot only when actually fired?

    Yes, hand racked.

Now that you mentioned, it was weird that I had to shave a little bit out of the EGW disconnector head to fit into the hole into the frame. I have never done that in past ignition upgrades. My STI Tac is 2013 vintage, maybe different size dico hole back then?

Im quite unsure, but what happens when the disconnector isnt fully back where it suppose to be? Could this be the curprit? I did shave the head of the disco, but maube it wasnt enough?

  3. Bought a used STI Tactical DS as a backup to my Edge in Ltd.

I immediately added an EGW ignition kit, Cheely grip w/ Cheely short flat trigger, and Wilson Combat ambi. Tuned the trigger to my preferred 2.5# trigger pull.

Doing some dry fire, trigger feels great, almost like my main Limited gun, Edge. When I tried it in one stage in a club match, it took me a while to fire my first shot in a point blank target, hmm okay.

Today, I brought it to a static range so I can figure out what height front fiber sight I need to get. I am not on a clock so I took my time to take my shot to get accurate results for my front sight selection. Again, my first shot I dip my gun so bad I feel like a newbie. Then after the first shot everything feels normal.

As I collect more data for my front sight, I saw a pattern that I always dip my gun at the first shot, then it goes away thereafter. I then investigate this; loading just 2 rounds in the mag. Sure enough the first shot is heaver than the second, that is why I always dip my gun on the first round.

Its almost akin to a DA/SA gun really. If I have to quantify it, I would say the first shot is about 4# then the rest is what I measured 2.5#

But when I function check in dryfire its all 2.5#. This is only happening with live ammo, at the first shot. I've done a couple of 2011/1911 ignitions already, this is the first time I've experienced this. What gives?

Similar experience.  Eventually cancelled and got my money back.

    How did you cancel?

I am in the similar boat; tried FB, email, and phone text. No reply back. I tried email today, hopefully I could get a reply back.

Ordered on 12/14/21 thinking okay, I think that is enough lead time for the holster to arrive for the L2 match on March.

No holster then, and I doubt it if it will arrive in time for another L2 match in 2 weeks. GX holster is great: impeccable lines, form, fit & finish. I think its the best out there, I have one on my CO. But the very unpredictable lead times puts a sour taste in the mouth. Had the same experience with my CO holster. I'll wait a few days and probably going to cancel my order as well.

  5. -Swept the floor after reloading 400rds and saw two primers on the ground.

-On a fresh primer tube fill, I never skipped a primer throughout the session

-When the primer alarm goes off, and me thinking I still have 4 left, sometimes it only gives me 3... sometimes 2

With no primer skipping until when the primer alarm goes off, I guessed that sometimes primers fall when a few are left because the number of primers left after the buzzer seems inconsistent. Anybody have this experience? I already have a 45acp on top of the primer rod. Primers I retrieve are reused for the next session. But the ones the goes to oblivion, well... primers are gold these days!

Off the top of my head, here's a partial list of the crap brass I throw in the dumpster....Plus anything that's steel, aluminum, stepped or bulged.
    Maxxtech
    MXT
    FM
    Aguila
    Ammoland
    ZQI
    WMA
    Xtream
    A USA
    Troy
    GFL
    NORMA
    DoubleTap
    Shell Shock
    TECH
    OMPC
    Perfecta

That's almost my list too! I highlighted those I don't like. Stepped brass (FM, Ammoland) are automatically thrown away. The rest I will use, but I just don't like how it feels when priming.

cbrussell, is there a BOSS Y-plate in between or does the PDX lined up with all the 3 holes on the GX holster? I am pondering switching to kydex setup on my Limited.

  8. I just bought a sw929 an cannot wait to play with it in USPSA.

I have a question with the moonclips. The 929 came with 40 moonclips which is great. I do see though that the moonclip has a rolled edge on one side and a sharp edge on the other.

Is there a proper monnclip orientation in loading the ammo? Thanks.

Anxious to read your range report as I have 5000 of these exact primers in my inventory that I bought several years back from Cabela’s for $17.50 per thousand...Mark

okay, finally able to test these primers; 10 rounds rapid fire no problems igniting with 2011.

  10. Scraping the bottom of the barrel in our club, I bought some Sellier & Bellot small rifle primers? Just from observation the primer cup is more squared off than Fed, CCI, Win.

So how are they in your experience. I am going to use it for STI Limited 40, with extended fp. I was banking that it will be alright since 2011/1911 have strong ignition.

  11. OP, I use BB 147's and they are always on the high side: 148-150gr. I like this, as it gives me a buffer in PF. But on my chrono session, I still use 147gr for calculations.

Last year, on all the level 2 matches I shot, they grab the magazines on me after I shot the stage before chrono. They weigh one bullet and shoot 3 rounds for average PF. I shoot for 130PF and always get 132-133PF, possibly because BB 147's are on the heavier side.
