Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I’ve wanted to try one for a couple of years now. As a match progresses the belt tends to loosen quite a bit. It’s lots of trouble to go to the safe area and cinch it back up again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I've since added a tungsten guide rod made for a S&W M&P Core. It runs sweetly! probably well over 1000 rounds now with No Trouble from the SRO or dovetail mounting it. So far so good for 2020.
  3. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Well I now have a viable cover that stays on the SRO from Range Panda dot com. My SRO is 2.5 moa. No problems at all yet. I've run at least 700 rounds through the Glock 34 with a dovetail mounting plate for the SRO. I will soon purchase another glock 34 gen 4, but an MOS version this time. That will make this gun my back up rig, and the MOS the main runner. I'm running an 11 lb. Recoil spring 4.5 lb striker spring and "The Edge" trigger group. No other mods really.
  5. Thanks. Ordered it!! U rock! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Does anyone know of a Cover for the SRO?? You’d think they would’ve included one as delicate as it is. Thanks in advance for any info. One friend said there’s a place that can 3D print one for it. ? Don’t remember where tho. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I've had mine for a month now. I've sighted it in and practiced a little. I've competed in one match with it (Carry Optics division). Mine is mounted using a dove tail mounting plate onto a Glock 34 Gen 4. No problems yet, other than the Elevation adjuster has moved about 1 or 2 clicks. I keep it marked. So far so good.
  8. Agreed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Jeez at that price point you’d think that wouldn’t be a prob. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I’m wondering what anyone thinks who has mounted one on a Glock with a mounting plate. That’s what I was about to do when I get the SRO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. https://practiscore.com/results/new/29280 In this match a PCC shooting minor beat out everyone including other divisions shooting with Major. I'll have to keep looking, although I just recently saw that situation in the Limited division as well. It doesn't take long to look through match results at Practiscore.com There was also the recent turn over in the revolver division in which more shooters switched to minor because it gave them 8 shots instead of 6 with major. Now those who still compete with the major PF .45's in revolver are at the disadvantage AND the minor PF shooters are WINNING the revolver nationals. So I guess the answer is to just get everyone to shoot minor and then it will fix itself. Lol. Or heck, just go shoot some other discipline and forget all about it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I don't think anyone thinks "major" is so Great or think that they rock and minor sucks. The difference is not just the PF. It's the difference in recoil. There is a LOT less recoil in 9mm than in 40. I wanted to shoot 9mm minor limited and actually still do from time to time. The scoring system is fair though, and as I stated many still compete with minor in Limited and do very well. I disagree with your saying that the scoring system "all but guarantees a win for major". The Alphas score 5 points for both major and minor. So go ahead and shoot Minor, just get as many alphas as you can and don't drop and Deltas. You CAN win with minor. but the difference in recoil between the 9mm and 40sw Does need the scoring difference. Either way, good luck with your campaign to do away with major scoring. Also check match scores on Practiscore and see the Lim shooters who use minor. Many of them do Really well and even win from time to time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. There is a "difficulty" difference between shooting 9mm at 125PF and 40sw at 165PF. You have to control more recoil in Major than in Minor. That's the reason for the scoring difference. You can achieve faster follow up shots with Minor 9mm than with Major 40sw. Also, 9mm with the same length magazine (141mm for Limited) means more rounds, making for fewer reloads and Decreasing the difficulty of running a course of fire. Those are 2 reasons for Minor having a lower scoring system than Major. For those reasons, I certainly hope they never do away with Minor/Major...Keep things the way they are. Although I will say that I know several Limited shooters who prefer 9mm for the division and ARE competitive against Major PF Limited shooters. There are obviously fewer of them though, because the limited division is more about speed, and those shooting 9mm HAVE to worry about accuracy in order to compete with the higher scoring Major PF shooters who can get away with more "C Zone" hits and an occasional "D Zone" hit. As well, there's no need to compare Production or Open Division shooters with Limited division shooters... They DON'T compete against each other. A competitor only competes against others in the Same division. No one looks at the highest scoring shooter of the whole match, but rather the highest scoring shooter of their division (most shooters who achieve the highest score of an entire match are usually from the open division). Also within one's division you're theoretically only shooting against others in the same "Class" (i.e... GM, M, A, B, C, D). So I'm only competing against other "B" Class Limited Division shooters at any given match. Although it IS nice to end up beating some "A" and occasionally "M" shooters inside the limited division at a match. I would also add one more thing... A lot of these questions could be easily answered with a visit to the USPSA.org site, which has a PDF version of the latest rules available to anyone. It's only around 150 small pages... so take some time to read through it. It will open your eyes/mind about a lot of perceived issues. =))
