Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Actually, the barrel went back to Apex twice and my entire firearm went back once with the Apex barrel. I spoke with Apex several times trying to help solve the problem. They tried hard to get it to work with no luck. They gave me a full refund and Apex also paid all the shipping costs involved with the process. I can not fault Apex. Apex stated they have seen some M&P Core's exhibit this problem and other M&P Core's that did not. The conclusion is the factory tolerances are not very tight. They have seen some large variations on the slides from the factory.
  2. Tried several different factory ammo and reloads and all showed the same problem. no crack in the barrel. Apex looked at it several times and the theory is the problem is due to the crappy factory tolerances on the slide. I may just have to wait for Apex's m&p slide/barrel to be released.
  3. You are correct. I even tried several different types of off the shelf and reloaded ammo.
  4. Sure, My 5" M&P9L Pro Series C.O.R.E has a Leupold Deltapoint on it with the Apex barrel. When I use this firearm in competition or practice, after as little as 10 rounds the optic will start to accumulate a smoke residue on the glass of the optic from the gases from the fired cartridge. On a high round count stage it can get pretty bad. This does not happen with the OEM barrel, but does with the Apex Barrel. Tried various factory ammo and reloads. I worked with Apex extensively with no luck. Their customer service went above and beyond trying to remedy this phenomenon. The accuracy of their barrel was great and I was disappointed that we could not get it to work. Trust me, I am still a big fan of Apex and will continued to buy their parts.
  5. Compatriots, I'm looking for some input on after market, more accurate, barrels for a 5" M&P9L Pro Series C.O.R.E. I tried the Apex barrel, but had problems with it fogging the optic. What else is out there that is worth a look. Needs to be accurate and reliable. thanks

  12. I am looking for suggestions on how to mount a small red dot reflex sight on my M&P22-.22LR. I was thinking that I would need to get the slide milled and tapped similar to the M&P CORE. I am trying to duplicate my M&P9 CORE for practice. Does anyone know of a gunsmith that does that kind of work? Or any adapters? Or a replacement slide? Thanks
