  1. Interesting! You will have to let us know if you have any issues with it as you use it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Bought mine from brownelles. Some one recommended them on here. They work great! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I took plastic off the stock until it was below the female piece on mine. It now works as it should. I used a file and tried to not hit the metal female end. I could tell after playing with it for a bit that the male end wasn't recessed far enough to engage the balls. I had to take a little more plastic off then I expected I would have to. 4. Dang dude, you did steal it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I ended up picking up betetta chokes for mine when they had a cyber Monday deal at 40% off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Start by looking at post 1136 of this thread. There is a good article on 3 gun chokes linked there. As far as the 3/4 vs 2 inch...from what I have read up on (I had the same question) it is the shape (length of the taper). The longer the choke, the more gradual the taper. This lessons the shock (sudden compression of the shot) the shot undergoes as it hits the taper in the choke. Suppose to make for a more even pattern is the theory. If any one would like to chime in, I wouldn't mind hearing another take on the topic myself! The skeet/trap/sporting clay guys I have talked to seem to like the 2 inch chokes for their really fancy guns... I bought 2" modified (shoots like a full with steel shot) to use when I try my hand at duck hunting. Yet to be seen if I will ever need it for 3 gun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I have a beretta 3/4" IC choke and IM that I just picked up for mine. I also have a beretta 2" mod choke that I bought for shooting steel at ducks. The 2" tube is pretty close to flush. Haven't taken any pictures yet with any of the other chokes in it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. To be flush I think you would need the +4... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. This is my 24" with a Nordic +5 tube and the stock flush IC. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. That's correct. Mine is closest to flush with a 2 inch extended mod choke that I bought for duck hunting. With the 3/4 extended chokes I bought it's not quite flush. Other than looks, it won't hurt anything. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. May have to pick up that red follower. My spring is at the recommended 12" past. Never did any cutting down after that. It's the first time it's happened. I will have to keep an eye on it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Had a 2 gun match today (pistol/shotgun). The 1301 ran great. The last stage was a SG only stage. Ran through the stage and the SG locked open after my last shot. They said show clear. Rolled the gun over and put my chamber flag in. Put the SG away. Got home tonight and was cleaning everything up. Pulled the chamber flag and hit the tube release and was quite surprised when it actually released a shell! Starters, my bad for not double checking the mag tube was empty. Any one had a shell not release from the tube? Any one try to color their follower or put one of the red low drag ones in? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Heads up guys, Beretta has 40% off for cyber Monday on their website. Just ordered a few chokes for my 1301. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Went really well. Came out 8th out of 12 on 4 of the 6 stages. Which was surprising since I was taking it slow on purpose. Came out 11th after forgetting a spinner on the last stage and attempted to take it with my pistol! Total brain fart when I ditched the 1301! After putting 5 or 6 rounds on it and started to go for a reload the RO recommended I take the penalty since "you will never flip that with a 9mm" Taking one shot would have gotten me out of the not engaged target, but the additional shots added to my time + penalty. Nice lesson I guess for my first time out! Shooting the cow boy targets would be fun! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. https://vimeo.com/111883937 First stage of my first 3 gun match back in July. Actually loaned out my 1301 to two guys having issues with there JM Pros on the final two stages. The guys were great at instructing me at what to do and giving great tips and advice. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. My 24" 1301 with +5 Nordic tube fits in my safariland comp bag with out using the extensions sleeve. So far I really like the bag. Well organized and plenty of room for everything you need. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Any of you had issues with the QD port on the stock? Bought some QD's at Cabelas and the Nordic clamp and QD plate. Really didn't think much of it. Threw the sling on, stuck the 1301 in my case, and headed out duck hunting this morning. Had a few times in my coffin where I notice the sling had come undone. Originally thought maybe I had bumped it. Next time I stood up, I slung the 1301 and started to walk away when I felt it falling. Grabbed it before it ended up in the water/mud. Happened several times on my short walk. When I got back to my spot, started looking at it. The clamp side is noticeably more engaged and won't pull out then the bottom. Button is basically still partially depressed when all the way in. Looking at it tonight, it appears the QD is recessed enough that the plastic stock is not allowing the QD to go all the way in. Figuring it might be the QDs I bought, I took the factory sig sling off my 516 and tried it with the same results. Plan to take a file to the stock right around the QD. Just curious if any one else has had a similar issues with it? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Interesting. Only 250 rounds through mine so far. Been reading all the forums to see if any failures have popped up. Sounds to be pretty dang reliable so far from what I have read. I haven't had a single issue yet with any factory ammo. It didn't cycle the super light loads a over under skeet guy gave me to try. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Noticed no one has answered this. Unfortunately I can't answer your question. Did you get it figured out? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. Out of curiosity, what did you end up buying? And most importantly...how was the class? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. Most people are cutting them at 12" past if you look back through the 1301 thread. I cut mine at 12" and haven't had any issues. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. Cutting off the open end, counting the coils from the end of the open end to the next coil down at the same place, you are cutting off 4 coils? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. For a $5 spring, it's probably can't hurt to experiment. Noticeable difference though in the force required to push the lifter up? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. Dave is down 3.5 coils now and seems to be working well for him Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  25. Dave is 73 the spring you are trimming? http://www.brownells.com/schematics/Beretta-/1301-Competition-Trigger-sid1061.aspx#s57155sid1061 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
