  1. Been off the forum for a little while now. Was browsing and found this post. Forced me to go do a little research. Can any one tell me when the 1301 comp gen 2 came out? I haven’t had any luck google searching it. Pretty sure I own a first gen. What changes did they make with gen 2?

  2. I definitely had a POA/POI change on my JM 930 to the point that I was racking my brain on how to bring the POI down. After some research, I took off the clamp and the POA matched the POI. I now use a taccom clamp and "free float" the barrel.

Interesting concept, but it doesn’t give a sling point, which is the only reason I have to need clamp mine.

  3. A charging handle? I was asking if there was a way to "easily" mount a trijicon rmr dot...oops sorry, saw that u were replying to another question. Apologies.

Yeah, I don’t shoot open so I can’t help you with the mount! However, I see you mentioned the newer 1301s have a different action length?

  4. You must have big thumbs. My small hands got stuck a few times. Luckily it was right after I got it and wasn't trying to go fast yet. I had my lifter welded the first week I had it.

  5. That's a big help thanks a lot!

There are some longer chokes that I have seen out there, but I didn't care enough that the tube was longer than the barrel. Real reason I went with extend choke tube was so I wouldn't have to use a wrench to change them out. I just go hand tight and check it before I shoot. Never have had t come loose.

  6. It does come factory with ic. I'm purchasing a Nordic extension and was going to buy the extended carlsons to match up close and be able to change without the wrench. Does anyone know how far the +5 Nordic sticks out past the barrel on the 24"? Thanks

This is my 24", +5 Nordic with extended beretta IM choke

  7. How did your loading port come out? I actually have touched mine yet! That is my next mod, but being my first shotgun I am really not sure what angles I will want on it! So I have been shooting it stock!

  8. You will need the clamp to use a sling. I only put the clamp on mine when I need to sling it. I have tried quite a few different rounds in mine. I will have to go back and check my list to see about the white box. Don't think that is one I have tried yet. I have been keeping the box ends to track what I have put in it.

  9. Most of the guys on here run no clamp. I have one, but the only time I run it when I need to sling the shot gun. Mine eats anything I have put through it. I haven't had a jam yet. Mine has not auto fed low recoil hand loads the skeet guys let me try at the local range. Lately I have been feeding it Wally World federal since its cheep and feeds just fine with mine. I haven't played enough with slugs to figure out my point of aim issue. Mine is also high by about 8 inches.

  10. Picked up a Nordic low drag follower today at a local gun store. Had been looking at upgrading my 1301 with one to help recognize when the tube is empty and to further experiment with small performance upgrades. I will be curious to see if Iam able to notice a difference or not. Either way I like the red!

  11. I went with a +5 and didn't buy the clamp originally. Ended up buying one later just so I could use a sling (so far only used it for duck hunting!). It is not typically on my gun though. It's not needed. Maybe one of the guys using a +6 or longer will chime in if a clamp is actually needed for the longer lengths. If you have big hands you won't need to weld the lifter. I had mine welded up due to small hands. Shoot it for a while then decide if and how you will open the loading port. I haven't done mine yet. I eventually will.

  12. The post you are looking for is 1136 for 3 gun chokes. Linked article from Pat is there. Really depends on your clubs typical ranges. The Pat link walks you through it pretty well. So far I have stuck mostly to an IC.

  13. Why not get a 9mm barrel for your xdm 5.25? Actually wish I had gone that route so I would have both cals in one gun. A lot of guys do it that way.
