  1. I cancel if we have lightning, which in southern new mexico happens during the monsoon season or if have had a severly heavy rain and the bays are flooded. It is just not safe to shoot at our range during those times.

Snow.....people here just don't travel when it snows and you don't want to be driving on the local interstate...

    I think i've cancelled 2-3 matches in 7 years.

  2. Ammo and the sight.

Plated bullets do not work well with comped guns and higher velocities.

Not alsays so. My other comp guns all work very well with plated bullets. I also use a custom open 40 S&W on an STI frame, a single stack switch top with 9mm and 38 super barrels, and a single stack .45 with a Clark drop in comped barrel. All shoot great and the plated bullets keep from getting lead in the bore from an exposed lead core of the FMJ base. I now only shoot jacketed hollow points or plated bullets in my comped guns to keep from havihg to scrape lead out of the comps. I have also observed others using plated bullets in comped high velocity guns with great success.

Im just speaking from experience with my SV open guns, none of which would run plated bullets. Impacts were all over the place. the bullet would stay intact but past 7 yards the accuracy was horrible.

  3. Sorry the search function is not working today.

does anyone know which safariland model 002 holster will fit the S&W 327?

It is the Jerry M. model with the scandium frame and unfluted Ti cylinder and Ti barrel.

    Thanks for any help.

  4. I had a primer set off the whole stack in my 650. primer got stuck in the index ring (the round plate with holes in it) tried to refeed as it didn't drop.

Have you seen the part in Saving private Ryan where tom hanks gets his bell rung? that was me.

  5. for single stage press reloading. any of the major brands work well, for progressives, use the dillon.

I started off with the lee loadmaster then the 1000. I had nothing but problems, i couldn't go more that 20 rounds without something screwing up. I gave both presses away and bought a 650.

On the Lee, the primer feeding system is lousy and cheap, Many vital parts are plastic that when deformed are unusable.. And you have to pay to have those parts replaced,

I hate wasting money on crap that doesn't work, then having to spend more money in the end to get a good product. I have not regretted buying any of my dillons, 550 650 and 1050. Out of those, the 1050 was the most finicky, I lost the index bar off the backside and the thing works wonderful.
