When you buy a safe, you have to fill it up!

Take it from experience. An 18lb cat can survive for 28 hours locked in a safe.

Worth every penny to get an attorney. nothing in the legal system is ever 'easy' or 'simple'
Depositions are stressful and time consuming. protect yourself.

One of the best parts of my job.

Gun hit the floor, causing the firing pin to move forward to detonate the primer and bang. The shear force of the slide trying to go back broke the thumb safety off as it was in the up position. that's why the case was still in the chamber.

Maybe Bolen can chime in if he is on this site? Seems to me he'd want to sell his product without having to fuss with things too much.
I run bolens in my SV mags with no mag tuning. I of course get the feed lips adjusted. What exactly needs to be done to the mag to get it special tuned?
Inside and outside of the tubes need to be adjusted properly.

But what does that mean exactly? Are they using mandrels? If so, i want one. Maybe someone could teach us exactly what they do since no one really does tuned mags anymore.

I've been debating posting this - one because it's thread drift and two cause it's slightly controversial -
So that's my $.02. I just had to get it out - sorry to pee in the cheerios of any or all posters on the topic. This game is tough. There is no concrete road to the top. Even Everest has several paths to the top. Most don't get there. Many do though, because they picked the path that best suited how they could attack the mountain.

Glad someone said it!
I think perhaps there needs to be a distinction between "practice" and "training"
As you say, many shooters go to the range and shoot the same drill over and over. Never training on what they don't like, never doing what they do like a different way to see what happens.
I'll have do dig up one of my driving books, `Speed Secrets 5, The Complete Driver` by Ross Bentley, the topic is what it takes to make it to the "Top" , it applys directly to top level shooters too. I'll look it up but simply put a complete athlete incorporates having the following skills, racing, testing, physical, mental, marketing, career. Change it to Shooting, training, physical, mental, marketing and career and it covers many of the top shooters, people like TGO, Doug K. Julie G. etc.
Under what it takes to make it, there are 5 factors, Talent, commitment, money, people and a plan. If you don't have all 5 you'll only see limited success.
Good post. From my own experience as a surgeon: I used to train surgical residents, some had 'it' while most didn't. There are those that are innately talented in doing what they do. That is why we say good surgeons are born and not necesarrily taught. Some just cannot comprehend what is under their blade before they make an incision. Most people just cannot visualize in 3D and in real time. Some with time and experience get better, just not great.
I notice the same with shooters, some just never progress even after shooting for years and years. They have either plateaued because they are happy where they are or they have not taken the proper steps to advance. Some just pick up and gun and can run with it. they easily grow, adapt, and improve.

App in today. saturday shooting limited.

We have a few pecan farms in our area...actually lots. I tried some crushed shells at one time. Even though dried, they were quite oily which attracted grit to the shells just cleaned. crushed walnuts from petco work better.

just checked speed shooters...none available.

These need to be for IDPA.

Who makes a good speedloader pouch for a 686 38/357? I use comp III's.

Does any one know if you can ream the chambers to accept longer .40 loads. I've got an original 646. i don't shoot it much as i have to change my loading setup.

I love the ones that say, "That target array combination is illegal."
I simply reply, read the rule book.

Application going out tomorrow. fun Match! this year i'm going to shoot it and not RO. Put me with Pdoyle and Mr. Nunley.

Yes, but repeated runs do effect the HHF in the database so they do indirectly effect you.
Really? Prove it... As near as we can tell, based on data gathered on the forum, etc, the HHFs in the DB haven't been adjusted since they were initially set. Otherwise, there are quite a number of classifiers that would have much higher 100% marks than they do...
Sure, USPSA gives lip service to adjusting them, but in practice, it simply doesn't happen.
(eta - I don't mean that to be combative... just that the notion that someone grandbagging is hurting anyone but themselves seems to be an urban legend ).
they sure do move up the HHF's. Take 99-33 (raw deal). i had shot this in June for a 97%, the month prior to that, dirtypool had scored a 100% with the same hit factor.

Measure your bullets. probably not the right diameter, or way too much crimp.

Mine happened with WSP's. Primer didn't fall out of the rotary tray and tried to refeed. the sound was louder than a defective north korean missile launch.
Was the original sound followed very quickly by another less "solid" somewhat squishy sound? hahaha. The one I blew made me jump big time. I only blew one primer, though, & it was completely my fault.
MLM
You Sharted?

Take a box to the USPS store and weigh it. note that weight, add gun to box and close, weight it again. subtract weight of box from total. Keep gun in box.
note: check with federal laws...... Seriously, i've known guys that have done this.

if you are teaching me, you better be able to show me some skills. His excuse if probably the worst i've ever heard.

For 950$, I'd buy the dang thing. New it would cost you over 1800 with the mags, shipping, tax, etc.
Make a nice steel gun.
