  1. I believe the gun must be returned to the address shipped from. Tom
  2. Oh salt...to increase your thirst great plan!! Tom
  3. My experience with S&W revolvers is it would be very hard to tell what was shipped with the gun, then there is the issue what if it was replaced at the factory or authorized repair center latter on. With triggers smooth, serrated, flash chromed, blue, forged,MIM,internal trigger stops? There almost as many variations with hammers also . I can understand why the manufacturer would not want photos of a Production gun being used in competition with a bobed hammer. Then there is the issue of Custom shop guns. I was told that if it was shipped from a Manufacturer as a custom shop item then it was not allowed... but if you built it with available parts then it was ok..HUH. I see this as a huge mess with CZ products and a few others. Tom
  4. Sure did! Worked well before the speech too. Thanks bud. Looking forward to it. Group tighteners...hit trigger finger with hammer just before match??? Does this mean i have to lisen to you now Kevin? Great job bud!!! Tom
  5. Besides requiring calibrated Chronos at matches looks like we now will need cerfified measuring devices at all matches Tom
  6. Thanks for the info. Tom
  7. Heat the spot with a propane torch...bet you then can see the crack. Many cracks start from the lack of a radius on a inner shoulder. Tom
  8. What does "Designed by HearthCo" Mean? Tom
  9. 4.8 of WAC with Zero 115 #135 at 1.10" is 1096 fps and shoots under 2" at 50 yards out of my 1911. Tom
  10. I had heard that CZ was using them in some guns...but have not seen any. Tom
  11. Has CZ used the Brilley bushing in any of their guns? Tom
  12. Has any one tried to get Autocomp direct from St. Marks Powder their # SMP224. May only come in 20 LBS containers or bgger. Believe you need a 07 FFL . Tom St Marks - Spherical Powders.pdf BALL Powder Propellant.pdf
  13. I am testing Winchester primers at this time also. 1: 686 no dash with a 6.75 # trigger pull, stock hammer.200 shots and no missfires. 2:610 no dash with a 5# trigger pull bobed hammer, mixed cases, 48 shots no missfires. Tom
  14. While dry firing pay attention to how much overtravel there is. Once you get used to that the jerk will probably go away. People are making internal trigger stops for the M&P. Tom
  15. HUH...take off more material...now it is legal ? Tom
  16. Yeah except for the whole DVC concept that this was founded on.....but hey if we are changing things why not change that and let 10 round 22 revolvers playWhy not? The open guys shoot what might as well be high capacity .22LRs aside from the ridiculous price tags attached...And that 115gr bullet at 1450 feet per second.Get your 40gr 22 over 4000fps and we can talk When your gun has the recoil of a 22LR who cares what the power factor is? I'm pretty sure a good open gun might have the muzzle flip of a .22 with proper technique; I'm equally sure that the recoil impulse generated by the open gun far exceeds that generated by the .22 LR..... How does DVC explain Major and minor? Shoot What FPS works for you and if a .22 knocks down steel you are good to go. Tom
  17. Looks like the best thing to do is...no power factor. Projectile must pass thru target and backer to be scored, steel must be knocked down. Many ploblems solved. Tom
  18. Winning is not everything. The most fun I had in sports was a Little League in which every player had to bat and play position in every game .Looking back now a very team and family friendly environment. Tom
  19. Does Hodgdon manufacturer any powder? Tom
  20. Maybe USPSA needs certified chrono's and scales at major matches. Oh and boxes. Tom
  21. Hmmm... Now that needs some looking into. I just read everything they had on the M2 on their website. The only reference to accuracy I found was in response to a question about using longer spacing arms than the standard 2 foot "The CED M2 Chronograph is designed with advanced digital firmware and processing speed that eliminates the need for longer rails. At 2 ft. spacing of the sensors, it provides 99.8 - 99.95% accuracy" But it would be interesting to hear their thoughts on any other sources of variations, such as lighting conditions. The 10% number came from CED when they had mine in to check inconsistent readings with both sky screens and Infrared screens. Many times there would be a 100 fps difference between the screens. I was told they were in spec when they were checked...with an air rifle. As they have no other way to check them. Tom
  22. CED says accuracy of their chronos is + -10% Tom
  23. I agree. Open should be open, including holster placement. Why should open be different ? What is the intent of this rule? Tom
  24. http://www.gunsinternational.com/SMITH-AND-WESSON-S-W-MODEL-986-PRO-SERIES-9MM-REVOLVER-NEW-2014-SKU-178055.cfm?gun_id=100410854 I called yesterday said they are in stock. Tom
  25. You seem to LIKE stirring the pot just fine. You went from thinking the classification system needs revamped, which it doesn't, to saying giving out a plaque to a lower class shooter is why we are plagued by sandbaggers in the sport, which we are not. There are some sandbaggers and grandbaggers for sure. Some are even famous. But the vast majority, literally nearly all, of the shooters in this game are straight up shooters who want to have fun and do as good as they can. I forget, there are how many thousand USPSA members? And most of us can name at most 10 famous top level shooters. To me this sport is not about winning the national championship. As a matter of fact I could care less who wins it to the point of being sick of reading about it month after month if FS magazine. Shooting USPSA is much much bigger than the nationals. Those guys and girls who get those dinky little plaques that they appreciate so much are the ones who make it possible for the sport to exist. I too like random draw for the masses. As far as I'm concerned, if a match can afford it, give the winner of each division a huge cash payout. They earned it! But you can't just pay them and give all the other shooters who gave you that money in the first place, diddly squat. If somebody wants to sandbag to get an 8X10 plaque then they are a moron. And you, nor anybody else, should waste time thinking about them. Going to the point of comparing us to the politically correct world of say, soccer, where everybody gets a prize so we don't hurt their self esteem is a slap in the face to the shooters who sign up to shoot as well as the staff who steps up to make it possible for us all to have some fun and shoot with friends. I have only MD'ed one major match so far, but nobody I sent a plaque to told me to keep it because it was meaningless. As a matter of fact most sent me sincere thanks when they received theirs. Where's the tylenol!!! +1 Sarge. I would go a little more extreme...pay match fee and for an additional $35 will put what ever you want on your plaque. That way everyone can have one. Tom
