  1. When we experimented with running 9mms through our 627-4 .38 Supers (mine was sold years ago), we had decent results with heavy bullets, presumably due to their longer bearing surface. Lighter-bullet 9mm loads? Not so much. The real advantage of the 9mm 8-shot concept would be to use cheap factory 9mm ammo.....like WWB, for example. And for that, we need properly-dimensioned (.355) barrels. Or so it seems to me. I quess it would be too much to ask for 1/32 barrel twist Tom
  2. Yeah, preferably the Performance Center version..... I got mine from Smith&Wesson shooting sports center in 2006 Tom
  3. How come it looked like the only "full" sized players introduced were the players that made the team from Toronto and Detroit Tom
  4. 5" 5906 approved for production 40.9 oz Tom
  5. I see it listed from more than one distributor, I believe it to be a standard Performance center gun, rather than a distributor exclusive! Names for distributors to check with? Thanks Tom
  6. Why would you ever have your arm back there when you're reloading once it's set? At least it's easy to verify visually that it's set where you want it. It is on the left side of a Square Deal very easy to bump . Is there an adjustmunt for tightness? Tom
  7. I am with pyrrhic3gun, would like to know who the distrubitor is? Tom
  8. The micrometer adjuster is very easy to bump, roll your arm against and change the powder drop. Tom
  9. Appendix D4 states the pistol can be 2 ounces over the listed weight of the pistol on the approved pistol list with an empty magazine inserted. I got this from the approved handgun list: XDm 525 C .40S&W 5.25" barrel (32 oz.). So, theoretically, you can get away with your mods, minus the magwell, IF the gun fits inside the box with your "slam pads." Also, I thought I read somewhere that the Black Ice holster as not Production-legal, due to how the holster was cut WRT the ejection port. I'd measure it to make sure it's legal. Yeah, I misread the list. So the gun is only allowed to be 34 total. Even closer than I thought it was and even more reason to be careful. Remember, scales are like chrono's. Does not matter what your scale says, it matters what a match scale says. Sarge, I agree scales and chronos should be certified or not used. Or why have rules that cannot be enforced? Been in racing to long, with all that sillyness. Tom
  10. During the race at LeMans a few years back we had a driver ask to pitt this lap...we needed to run 4 laps about 16 minutes before a fuel stop, were told he did not think he could wait that long. His wife said we should bring him in as he may be having problems with a Kidney stone!!! When we got him out of the car I have never seen someone in so much pain. It was a stone and he was cleared to drive later in the 24 hr race. Tom
  11. I hear this pop up once in awhile but even here in the farmlands of Ohio I have never found corncob in a feed store, co-op, whatever. It sure would be nice, but so far.... Try The Andersons grit o cob. http://www.gritocob.com/product-list.aspx Tom
  12. That would be okay, but I might prefer this: 10.5.6 While facing downrange, allowing the muzzle of a handgun to point uprange beyond a radius of 3 feet from a competitor’s feet while drawing or re-holstering. Knees bent or straight...I hate stupid rules that are hard to enforce. Tom
  13. I only shoot dots a bit in Bullseye, still shooting revolvers mainly. My issue now is that when the front sight is sharp shooting Bullseye it is now out of focus shooting two handed. Tom
  14. I load on two Square deals, one small primer one large. The press setup for small primers will seat large and small primers below flush the one setup for large primers will not seat large or small primers below flush. For my RCBS hand primimg tool we made the seating rods +.010" longer, with that I can seat all primers well below flush. Tom
  15. Jake, check with Indiana Gun club in Fortville. Tom
  16. A friend of mine is a Preacher. One Sunday his wife asked the 5 year old why he was not in Sunday school? He said I do not know why she sent me home Mom all I said was SH*T quietly to myself!! Tom
  17. 4.8 to 5.2 WAC 115 Zero in my 5"M&P. Tom
  18. 3.7 N-310 with a Speer 230 gn FMJ run 690 fps out of my 1911 5" and is very soft. I am going to shoot it at 25 yards for Bullseye. It shoots a 3" group at 50 yards. Tom
  19. I found that if I took the top diffuser off the screens my chrono would then pickup the moly bullets. Tom
  20. No.Same chrono just change screens everything else is the same . Tom
  21. Joe Leininger MO-JO guns .Brush Creek LTd.
  22. Besides the published weight of the guns the scales become an issue. Just like NASCAR the only official scales are the unit the match uses...all others and certification do not matter. Published weights may also reflect a requirement to meet contract requirements for sales to some. Tom
  23. I had a issue with my CED chrono also. Mine would read over 150 fps diference between sky screens and infared screens with the same load same guns, only changing screens. Sent them to CED to be checked...they said they were in spec. When I asked how they checked them I was told with a airsoft pistol. Said they had no other way to check them. Tom
  24. I believe the .22 TCM /9mm guns use a copy of Para mags. Tom
  25. How is a chrono calibrated clock speed? CED said they do it with a air pistol. Tom
