  1. I hope so. I ordered one on 10/23 from Canyon Creek (Richard Dettelhouser). He said it would take about 2 weeks. Cost was pretty reasonable too..I think it was about $20 plus a new mag catch. He said it might require "minor" fitting, but it would probably drop in. Good Luck, Keith
  2. Has anybody tried using Winchester 296 in 38 super? It would be nice since I have a couple of kegs of it laying around.
  3. Thanks warpspeed. Since I've never been to the monthly match, are 2 guns, i.e. open and rimfire?
  4. It's getting close. Any more information? It's just one day? How big is it? Any vendors? TIA, Keith
  5. That's great news. How's Para's warrenty service?
  6. Now you've got me worried I was thinking of getting some of those P18 10 rnd magazines. Does anyone know if they're the same as the P16's?
  7. Can you measure the battery holder? The batteries are named by their size, i.e. DL2032 = Duracell Lithium 20mm diameter x 3.2 mm thick.
  8. I guess Radian might have changed the design. My mistake. I thought that the flesh colored plugs and the black plugs were the same. Here's the one's I got: http://www.radiansinc.com/HEARING/enhance_ear.asp Just about any hearing protection isn't adequate for a comped, ported barrel open gun . If I have the time, I usually leave the area
  9. I got mine from Cabella's: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/template...&hasJS=true I see that they offer a large variety of plugs now.
  10. I don't know about those brands but I have been using the Radian plugs. They claim a NNR of 26. I also have a set of Peltor Tactical muffs and they seem to be about the same. The Radians seem to have a bit more trouble on windy days than the muffs but they are a lot more comfotable on a hot day. The sound amplification part of the Radians is MUCH more powerful. When I first got them, I had the volume turned up too much and I kept looking for someone talking to me while I was setting up. I couldn't see anyone closer than about 50 yards
  11. I just got back from the Steel Challenge where I talked to the Springfield rep. He said that he's see that problem before and he believes that the extractor needs to have more tension on it. I really cleaned and retensioned the extractor and I haven't had a problem yet. I won't be able to run a signficant amount of ammunition through it for a couple of weeks but so far so good. Keith
  12. Heggis, Thanks for the reply. Actually, I'm more concerned with the shape of the trigger. I'd like to reshape it if possible, or get another with a different contour.
  13. I'm with the other guys...do it yourself.
  14. Craig, Thanks for the reply. The problem is, I know of only one gunsmith locally that I would trust, and he won't do any trigger work, unless it duplicates the factory specs BTW, I was hoping to find a smith either in the San Francisco bay area or in the central valley. Regards, Keith
  15. I've tried the search feature with no results. Does anyone know of a gunsmith that will do a trigger job on a Buckmark? TIA, Keith
  16. Paul, Thanks for getting that cleared up. Maybe you should print out that reply and take it with you. I'm sure other people might not understand the flag. Keith
  17. I read in the Steel Challenge program that the 22 rimfire will be started with the pistol pointing at a red flat. Does that mean there's no "elbows touching sides"? Does anyone know where the flag will be positioned? Thanks, Keith
  18. I just got a Weaver base for my JPoint. Would that work?
  19. I saw they cashed my check on Monday and I got a package in the mail yesterday. I opened it with great expectations.....there's just a program and an entry form. I don't know what I was expecting, but I guess I'm getting so excited, I was a little disappointed Oh well..............A month and a half to wait..............
  20. Can I ask what the second choice is? I never have been able to find a pair of Nike's that felt comfortablel. Thanks, Keith
  21. I don't bother shaking the flip tray to line them all up the same. I just pick up the ones anvil side down first, then flip the tray over and pick up the rest.
  22. I just got a Ruger 22/45 to use for the rimfire events. My question is at the end of a stage after you drop magazine, show clear..then what? I can't drop the hammer because of the magazine safety. Do I put an empty mag back in and pull the trigger and take the mag back out? Thanks, Keith Sorry about the second post, I guess my flinch is worse than I thought.
  23. I have been using a Kimber conversion with a Jpoint. I am now setting up a 5-1/2 inch Ruger 22/45 with a tube style red dot to try. I sure wish they made a magazine loader for the conversion like they do for the Ruger/Buckmarks.
