  1. Was having trouble with accuracy in a couple of my 9MM handguns with the 125's from BBI. In other guns they were some of the best groups those guns have ever shot. I rescind my opinion that JHP's are the most accurate bullet design. Wanted to try some .357's to see if they tighten up the groups in the suspect guns. Don't want to order in bulk in case they aren't any better in said guns. Have already ordered .356 bullets in bulk from BBI (on hand and testing), DG (on hand haven't tested), Blue Bullets (backordered), and Precision (backordered). Like I said the .356's are lasers in several guns and okay in others. The .356's work good enough in the okay guns that I'll be happy to burn through them, but want to test some .357's before I ordered any more in bulk. As far as I can tell DG is the only one custom sizing right now with product available. Ordered some .357's from DG and just got a shipping notification. Chandler at BBI responded they are unable to stop and custom size right now (which is understandable). If I'm not mistaken Blue Bullets doesn't custom size any longer, and only runs 9MM at .355 (I haven't contacted them, just what I read on here. I haven't contacted Dave at Precision. Are they still custom sizing? I know Eggleston has lots of custom sizing and testers, but they are a little on the expensive side and are OOS on everything at the minute. Any other suggestions or corrections to my assumptions?
  2. Ordered a case of 115 and a case of 125 from DG on 3/27. Both cases shipped on 3/29. 115's showed up yesterday 4/1, the 125's are still enroute. USPS says "In transit, arriving late". They were well packed but about half the 500 count bags were broken open. I'm putting that on USPS as per usual. Bullets look great. Will test next week. Wanted to try some .357's. Ordered 500 of each 115 and 125 from DG on 3/29. They said it would be a week for custom sizing. Just got shipping notice this AM, awesome! Haven't fired a single DG bullet yet, but couldn't be happier with CS, shipping, and prices.
  3. Just went back to coated bullets after about 10 years due to current situation. Recently switched to Clean Shot. Was very unhappy with coated bullets in the past and am now realizing a lot of my issues had to do with using Titegroup with lead and coated lead bullets. Of course it will work and lots of people use it, but it really isn’t the correct powder for the task. Do you have any other powder available? Here is my Titegroup Data for a 115gr bullet with different firearms noted, if that’s all you have. Should get you in the ball park. * indicates my chosen load. 4. Just heard back. No discounts at this time. Ordered placed. I’m sure they’re great.
  5. Thanks. Put an order in the other day to get in line. Ordered BBI in the mean time to start tested coated lead again. Also ordered Precision to get in line there as well. Also gonna try DG, seems like they are shipping quick. I made a little price chart the other night of several of the more popular coated manufacturers. With the Blues 5% forum discount they are tough to beat. The BBIs I have tested are amazingly accurate with clean shot, but if the blues preform as well I will probably stick with them, and just order BBIs or DGs if I need them in a pinch.
  6. They are still on par. Ordered 2 cases and they were at my door in Scottsdale in 5 days. UPS vs USPS, and the box was in one piece and still sealed. Nice change from my recent USPS experiences.
  7. Thanks for the info. I reached out to DG. I figured the worst they can say is no. I’ll order from them regardless of the discount, but if I can save a couple bucks as I’m sampling everyone’s wares I’d be stupid not too. Maybe they bulk discounts for 10,000+ orders like some of the manufacturer’s do? Thanks again for the info.
  8. Anyone have a current coupon code for DG? Trying all the more popular coated bullets and wanted to give DG a shot.
  9. Sorry for delay. I only have 1 trimmer, but I use 2 tool heads. One of the tool heads is set up with the rough trim die and decapper. The other is final trim and size die. I just move the trimmer around. Not worth it to me to have multiple trimmers. My final step on the second tool head is to run finished case through a Forster full length sizing die with the decapping pin removed so I can use it in the final station. I also use the second tool head for fired 300 blackout brass. It’s time consuming but I’m doing thousands of cases at a time so I’m not doing it often. I also only use LC brass for 300 BO. I bought a poop ton of LC 5.56 brass years ago that had damaged necks that worked perfectly for the task. You I can use any die you want for the final trim if you can get ahold of the GSI rough trim die. I’m out on the road. I’ll try and get pictures of my tool heads for you when I get home. if you go back and read my other post above I think I may have gone into more detail.
  10. I’d skip the 223 sizing process to start. Seems unnecessary and may lead to the case spinning inside the 300 blackout die while the 1500 is trying to trim. Seems like the case spinning inside the die is what leads to many peoples cutting issues. This is the reason GSI went with a 2 step process for cutting and then trimming to length. Not saying you can’t do it in a single step....
  11. I’m running the MG 95’s at 1.020” out of my G34. 3.6grs Bullseye @ 1083 FPS. It’s like cheating.
  12. It’s amazing how fast things can change. I’ve always been in the “JHP’s aren’t that much more expensive all things considered” camp. But man how that has changed in a 12 month period. Prices have doubled and tripled. Availability is spotty. No bulk ordering or discounts. Might be deal breakers I completely left plated and coated bullets behind years ago because the cost of FMJs and JHP’s was only a a buck or two when buying in bulk. Now I’m starting to try coated bullets again based on cost and availability. I tried SNS and Gallant in the past and wasn’t impressed. Still much dirtier and not that much cheaper at the time. Just ordered some Precision, and BBI. Think I’m gonna put an order in for Blues as well. Loaded up the BBIs to try tomorrow hopefully. BBI shipping was great btw. At my door in AZ in less than week. Still not sure about coated in the open gun? I have about 10,000 Everglades JHPs left so I have a while to mull it over.
  13. Ordered a case of 180’s and a case of 125’s from BBI on the 3/16. At my door in Scottsdale on 3/20. Similar order from Precision on the same day to get in the queue. Will advise. Also considering trying Blue Bullets. Anyone got an order update on Blues? Looked back through here but the last Blue update I saw was awhile ago.
  14. I find Xtremes shipping cost to negate any saving. I have run various manufacturers heavy plated HP’s through my open gun. They work, but the accuracy is not great when you push a plated bullet that fast.
  15. Rocky Mountain Reloading I only run JHP’s in my open gun as well. But I use FMJ’s for pretty much everything else. JHP’s are tough to come by right now. I will use plated 147’s for my suppressed 9MM AR but that’s the only thing I use plated for any more. I just figured I try the coated lead again for bulk practice pistol ammo. It’s the only real cost effective and available bullet right now. Supposedly the coating process has come a long way in the past 10 years. We’ll see. PD, MG, Everglades, and RMR all make 115 and 125 JHP, just nothing available right now. Except Everglades. But their prices right now are HIGH. Not faulting or chastising them. Just more than I’m willing to pay. MG and Everglades both make 95gr JHP. MG makes the best 95gr JHP IMO they just haven’t been available for a very long time. Both companies are OOS.
  16. As of right now. Little expensive but there are there. Guess it's all relative at this point. No bulk discounts. Precision Delta Edit: sorry, guess I could have added this to the recent bullet order thread.
  17. PD has 115 and 147 FMJ's in stock right now. But at $.105 each no thanks. Doesn't look like PD is doing discounts on 2000 or more any longer either. I just assume back order them from RMR at $.089 each. I guess if you need them now you need them now. I have a pretty good supply of FMJ's and JHP's still. Not what I'd like, but enough to keep me shooting till a back order comes in. I just ordered a bunch of coated bullets from BBI and Precision Bullets to try incase things don't turn around any time in the near future. First time in about 10 years I've gone back to coated led. Uh.
  18. I check MG website daily I have an open window for MG and PD that I refresh daily. Maybe multiple times a day. Everglades prices have doubled and tripled but they do have some products in stock.
  19. Thank you. Does BBI give a discount off 1st time orders like Precision?
  20. I'll be using Shooters World Clean Shot BTW. Finished off my supply of Titegroup and HP38 with the FMJ's.
  21. Thank you. I will heed the advice. I'll order a couple of cases from BBI and put a back order in with Precision. Dave from Precision did get back to me by the way. Couldn't do samples because he doesn't have any was the short of it. Said 9MM projectiles are going to be an issue for another year or two.
  22. I thought I saw a post in the Recent Bullet order that said BBI were falling off on shipping orders? Maybe I’m mixing the companies up. Need to go back and check.
  23. Thank you for all the feedback. I really appreciate it. I have been using RMR and Everglades pretty much exclusively for years and years, but the current situation has almost eliminated that option. Waits are insane and prices have skyrocketed. Plus RMR dropping the bulk option is almost a deal breaker. I had bulk orders in my cart last fall but got sidetracked and never put the order in. Wish I could have that to do over. I have a pretty good supply on hand, just trying to plane ahead.
  24. Looking for info on Precision Bullets from those who have used them. And how they compare to other coated bullets. I scoured this forum, the web, and YouTube but there isn't a ton out there. There are misc post here with sporadic info, but all just general stuff. There was an add on here for 40 Cal Precision Bullets and someone commented that they were the best coated bullets they had used. Said they used some type of proprietary coating that was different than all the other. It sparked my interest. Wondering how much is truth and how much is hype. I started with bare lead pistol bullets when I first started reloading years ago. Then switched to plated. Then tried coated lead (S&S Casting, Missouri Bullet, maybe a couple others). Then finally went to FMJ's and JHP's. At the time, if you purchased the later in quantity they really weren't that much more expensive than coated lead or plated and were just so much better that for a couple bucks more per 1000 it was well worth it. I have enough powder and primers to last a lifetime, but I did not anticipate that projectiles would be so hard to come by this time. I didn't stock up on projectiles and I am regretting it now. During the past shortages projectiles were the one thing that I really never had trouble getting so I naively though the same would hold true this time. I was obviously wrong. I have plenty loaded for now, and still some unloaded to work with, but at some point here in the near future I'm going to need more. Lots more. I shoot anywhere from 5000-10000 rounds a year depending on the year (across all my calibers, both rifle and pistol). With the current run on reloading supplies and sky rocketing cost of raw materials I'm looking at possibly going back to coated pistol bullets for bulk shooting and like I said this brand caught my eye. Do they really smoke less, and are they cleaner than other lead and coated bullets? Is the proprietary coating really better? I'm clear on how to load lead properly. I've loaded thousands and thousands of them. I understand powders, bell, and crimp makes a UGE difference with lead and coated. Not really looking for loading info. I tried reaching out to them to see if I could get a small sample, but haven't heard back. May try calling them today. Has anyone ordered from them recently? I saw there were a couple comments in the Recent Bullet Order thread, but they were from late last year. Hadn't seen anything current. Much appreciated.
