  1. I have ESP's Stealth model and like them, but I only wear them when shooting. I like it because I can leave them in all day, they are comfortable and I can still carry on conversations. You sound like you're wanting a dual-purpose setup to wear them when not at the range. Several years ago, when my kids were at Front Sight, they had the folks from Sport Ears there. My kids bought the electronic, custom fit pieces. It was pretty slick in that they first gave you a hearing test to show you the frequencies where your hearing was deficient. Then, depending on the model you purchased, they would build you a set that compensated for those deficiencies. This might be overkill for range day, but I can see where this would be nice when using as a hearing aid. There are several companies in the business now, so shop around and see what they can do for you. Their prices seem pretty similar for comparable units. As for quality, I can only speak to Sport Ears - my kids love them and had no problems - I'm guessing they've had them a little over 4 years. My ESP's are only a few months old, but I've no complaints. Good luck!
  2. My buddy does this with his STI and it runs 100%. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. If you click "Details" near the bottom left of the warning, you can click the link, "Visit this unsafe site." and it will let you in. It's a pain in the butt, so I'm back using IE.
  4. it only happened to me on my work computer and only saw it today. I assumed our tech dudes blocked it. Haven't experienced it at home.
  5. My experience is that of RiggerJJ. I've been processing and loading 5.56 on my 550b. When I started I tumbled in walnut, decapped on a single stage and SS wet tumbled. I have a head setup with a RT1200 for processing and another for loading. The RT1200 does fine and I see no need to chamfer and deburring. I have a 650 I use exclusively for loading pistol ammo, but recently bought the small rifle collator plate. My plan now is to wet tumble, sans SS pins and after cases dry, throw into the case feeder for decapping and processing. I have a Super Swager, but so far I haven't run across any crimped brass. I'm fairly new to loading 5.56, so still figuring things out for efficiency. My plan is to continue loading on the 550, but it won't surprise me if transition exclusively to the 650.
  6. Welcome to the forums! I have one I use exclusively for processing and loading 5.56 - it's a great press.

  12. 2 of my boys bought Sportears about 5 years ago. Not sure if the model but were $1,500 at the time. They love them. The 360 sounds like a higher end version. I believe they were a hearing aid manufacturer before they got into the hearing protection business. I haven't seen any of the electronic in-ear hearing protection that wouldn't be a little bulky, as opposed to the smaller units that hearing aid specific. I suppose it would work though. I have a set of ESP's. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  15. "Home Error" Tried a fresh install and got the same message but it allowed me me send Tapatalk the error message. It had a crazy long string of computer code or some kind of string that it automatically filled to identify the problem.
  16. I have a Trojan like yours. I bought it used and the previous owner did a fair amount of work on it and said it had a 12.5 lb recoil spring and a 17 lb main spring. I'm new to the 1911 platform and am learning like you. I don't have a Shok-buff, but from what I've read, they come apart rather quickly and need to be replaced after a few hundred rounds. The first link below is a good video by Nic Taylor who uses, at least at the time, an aluminum buff. Nic has some other good videos on his channel. The next video is from Atlas Gunworks on tuning a recoil spring. It's interesting, but for me, doesn't go into enough on spring weight and the effects of tuning (cutting) the spring. From what I've researched on springs, cutting coils reduces spring weight. So it seems to me if you need to cut off some coils, you would need to start with a heavier spring... Anyway, my Trojan runs just fine with Winchester 180 gr white box and various reloads I've been working up. While I haven't chrono'd 180 gr white box, should be around 178 PF. Wish I could be more help. If I learn more about this, I'll pass it on. Best of luck.
