  1. I was wanting to pickup a Benelli Supernova with a 24" barrel. I have looked around several places in Colorado with no luck. Several to be found with longer barrels. Also looked online with no luck. Anyone know of someplace in Colorado to checkout. If not, any ideas for online that would ship to my dealer?
  2. There used to be a MSTN/PRI rail that provided the correct eye relief. Worked out well on one of my rifles.
  3. How much overhang do you have on your sight from the top edge of the dovetail to the muzzle end of the sight?
  4. A quick look at it using a basic CAD model shows you would get full cleanup if you were to have the centerline of your new dovetail 0.250" from the front of your slide. Opening at the top would be 0.260". Looks like you get it to work. If it doesn't you could always weld up after you try it.
  5. That would be my soon to arrive Xmas gift! Working with Venry has been awesome. He has come up with exactly the gun I was looking for. My concept was one gun for everything. Limited, IDPA, summer steel, and occasional CCW. I was inspired by EricW's similar idea of one gun for everything. Can't wait to get my hands on it. Thanks Venry! You have been great to work with.
  6. I wouldn't get a Caspian slide. I have a CCF frame setup with a Caspian slide and a KKM barrel in .40SW. The Caspian slide needs a lot of TLC to work properly. I still have to fit the striker (rubs on the thru hole in the breach face). Hopefully Lone wolf makes a better product.
  7. TSS Fat Free - so far I love it.
  8. Is it possible to make the notch deeper or would this interfere with the sight?

Jager- Are you making any polymer rods for the Glock?
  10. Thread hijack-...HSMITH -let's see a couple pics of the new gun with your new design slide cuts, or throw them up in the gallery. Always like to see good looking guns... -Hijack off-
  11. Who does tungsten sleeved barrels now?
  12. That is a good looking slide. Did you mill it or EDM(you mentioned grinding)? How was it to cut? I would imagine the tenifer would be pretty hard on tooling until you finally broke through it. I like the look. I could see doing something similar to the Caspian slide that I have. At least it would break up the lines.
  13. I will have to check mine when I get back home. I didn't notice this problem, but it probably is. I'll try to post pics this weekend. Has anyone else seen this on their frame? It would be nice if Larry from CCF would address this issue on this forum (since he already has the post about his winner's circle).
  14. When is CCF going to be coming out with a magwell for their frame? Sooner is better than later, otherwise I will just go with the glued on setup.
  15. Is Dan Wesson building a .40 now?
  16. I am wondering if the same principles of slide weight apply to the Glocks for a limited gun. I know on the S_I guns that lighter slides are goal. Do Glocks respond the same if slides are lighter? I ran a few timed drills (bill drills and VP)a little while back comparing a few different guns. I compared a 6" STI FF, Glock 20 w/ 40 SW barrel, Glock 35, and a CCF frame with a Caspian G35 slide w no cutout. The G20 was the fastest on the drills for me. The S_I seemed like the easiest to shoot(trigger was so much easier to work) but was 2nd in time, the CCF was next followed by the regular G35. The glocks all run WTS sights. The STI has bomars. The g20 has a RS trigger (with a couple of mods for reliability), the CCF a vanek, and the G35 is stock. I started wondering why the G20 turned in better times? Was it because of the heavier slide? Definitely shoots soft. Then again so did the CCF gun and it has a heavier slide as well. I recall reading that Mad Scientist used to shoot a G24 with a caspian slide with no cutout that he liked due to the increased slide weight. This seems counter to conventional wisdom for the 2011 guns. Has anyone experimented with Glocks by lightening the slide? Granted, I don't get a lot of time to practice with any of them, but I was interested in comparing the different platforms. I have turned in better times in the local steel match with the STI fwiw. Haven't had much time to get used to the new gun. I know it is the Indian and not the arrow ,and I need to pick one and practice. Just thought it was an interesting comparison, and started wondering about slide weight on Glocks.

I have a Caspian G35 slide that I am using with a KKM barrel on my CCF SS frame. The KKM barrel cycles and fires fine. I was concerned with what appeared to be minor peening on the locking block and the barrel. The peening was not consistent with the pattern shown in the link above. There was metal displacement on the top surface of the locking block, but the gun functioned fine. Definitely no binding. So far I have only about 500 rds. through the combo. When I get home again, I will measure up a stock barrel and the KKM. As for the Caspian slide- I am unimpressed. Had to clean up the extractor slot so the extractor would move freely. Had to open up the safety plunger hole(plunger would not move freely). No debris hole as previously mentioned. One other item- it appears the hole in the breachface and/or the breachface dimensions for the striker are not quite right. I don't have as much striker tip protrusion on the Caspian slide. I have had a few light strikes that I attribute to the slide issues(I am running a lightened striker). Hopefully Lone Wolf will get the slides right. Eric- care to share more info on your recoil setup? Length of your washer stack? How did you determine the stack size? I like your idea a lot more than the supplied buffer setup.
  18. I don't recall exactly, I think it was somewhere around 6-7 months, but I believe there were extenuating circumstances in play during that time period. Didn't really affect me. I ordered while I was gone with work and it arrived before I returned. Benny was great to deal with. I specified a couple of things I wanted and let him do it his way. I would give him a call and check on his lead time. I don't think my wait was typical based on what I see here for delivery time(usually shorter). Although it was nice to be able to basically order and forget about it(no need to worry that the final product will turn out great).
  19. Very nice tri top treatment. Who did the work? JS I think thats one of Bennys latest ones.--------Larry Correct. It is one of Benny's TSS Fat Free guns although it doesn't have the triangle emblem. I like it- it'll shoot better than I can. I have had for a few months, just no time to really shoot it due to work.

Did you end up doing anything to the right side frame rail where it hit the trigger bar?
  21. Since were sharing, here's a pic of my FF 6". Haven't gotten much time to shoot it. I did get to shoot one of the local evening steel matches with it. So far I love it.

What did you use to bond the magwell to the frame?
  23. Is the peening only on the barrel, or is there some on the CCF frame as well? Slight peening on the locking block as well. I am going to monitor it and see what happens. If I get ambitious I may take some measurements and compare the factory barrel to the KKM. Haven't had time to mess with it lately.
  24. Any updates? What did KKM do to your barrel? I have a similar situation with the CCF Frame and a KKM barrel. I know the CCF site says to use only Glock barrels, but I couldn't see purchasing a stock barrel for the gun. So far no problems, but I haven't put a lot of rounds thru the gun yet.
  25. Has anyone tried the Lightning Strike on the large frame with any of the popular based pads? I too was interested in the NHO, but am looking at other options that might be readily available.
