  1. I just went to Blue Bullets and DG Bullets and looked at how much a case of each would be to my door. Per 1000 they are within 15 cents of each other (124/125 grain RN). I could not find the size on the DG website. I may have just missed it. I was looking for .355.
  2. I bought one a few years ago because I had a bad case of tennis elbow. I did not want to spend the money because I thought it was not needed. After owning one, i think it is as needed as the case feeder. I can easily load 100 in 5 minutes. I think it is the best thing you can buy for a 650!! Enjoy!
  3. I use a Thumbler's Tumbler and wash 1000 cases at a time as well. My brass is not deprimed at this point. I use brass pins instead of SS. I drain the water and rinse. I then use the Berry's Brass Pan Sifter to get the pins out. I pour about 250 out at a time and shake around until all of the pins are out. Sometimes the pins fly around when I am shaking them out, however after 75,000 rounds, I have never had a pin make it to the reloader. I was about to try a rotating separator, however after this thread I may stick with my current method. I usually let mine dry for two days. Once I was drying 45acp and thought they were dry after 1 day, I reloaded them and 2 or 3 out of a hundred would not go bang - water in the primer holes. Now, I wait at least 2 days and sometimes use a fan.
  4. I am glad you found the fix. I have the same problem. I have tried everything. I have replaced everything but the shell plate. I even did the realignment tool but it still hits on #1. I will have to try that next. It is so frustrating. Thanks!
  5. How much bell do you have on the cases? I am not familiar with a 550, however on a 650 you would also want to check to make sure your platform was tight. If the two bolts that hold down the platform (under the shell plate) become loose, it can make the dies off center (like the dies were loose). You can always call Dillon, they will help you figure it out. Good luck!
  6. I got tennis elbow really bad last year. The doc said you have tennis elbow. You should not make this motion (it was the exact motion you make when picking up a bullet and placing it on the case). I thought it was a joke at first. When I told her it was the exact motion you make when reloading, she did not understand why I would ever want to reload bullets. She said, "Well don't make that motion". I was "forced" to get a bullet feeder. I really did not want to spend the money on a bullet feeder. However, it was one of the best things I have ever purchased for my reloading. I can easily load over 1000 and hour on my Dillonl 650.
  7. I have a Thumbler Tumbler and it is awesome!!! I can't imagine a better tumbler. I think they make a small one.
  8. Thank you guys for the information. I loaded up some at 4.0 grains and shot them today. They are definitely lighter than any factory loads. I may bump them up some. I need to chrono them to see how fast they are. I took your advice on the length and did not use the crimp ring. They were very accurate. Where do you get load data for wad cutters? Donnie sent me some load data and he showed 4 being the max. He was saying to use the crimp ring and roll crimp a little. I am sure that would make a diference. I have spent hours trying to find some type of manual with load data for this bullet.
  9. I have some Bayou 135 grain SBNWC for 38/357 magnum that I need load data on. I have 8 pounds of w231 that I would like to use for these loads. I have only loaded 9mm and 45 acp so I am not familiar with wadcutters. I have looked in numerous manuals but I cannot find any load data for this bullet. First, can you shoot this bullet in a 357 magnum case? This bullet has a crimp groove. When you seat it down to the crimp groove on a 357 magnum, it makes the OAL a 1.430. I don't see any load data for anything that short. I have a Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook on order in hopes that it will have some load data for a wadcutter. Does anyone have any loads for this bullet and powder? Where can you get load data for wadcutters? Second, I have the same problem in 38 Special. The Lyman Reloading Handbook does have a similar shape bullet (#358091) but has it in 150 grain. I have not checked to see if the OAL works out. At least it gives me a place to start. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
