  1. I'm still fairly new to matches. I've read a lot here and in BE's book about shooting on auto pilot and being totally relaxed when shooting a stage. While I felt that I understood the concept, I had never experienced it. Well, I was able to take my first class this last weekend. About half way through the class There was a stage the instructor set up where there was 3 shots moving forward, and 4 targets moving to my right using barricades and a mag change. By that time I was warmed up and I was feeling pretty good about the class. I got ready and indexed to my 1st target and.......I just shot the stage, all hits on 6" plates. After i got off the line I realized that I did not remember doing the mag change, the moving barrier to barrier or even if I had seen the sights when I broke my shots. It was a really an "a-ha" moment for me. Needless to say I throughly enjoyed the class and plan on taking more. I'm really enjoying this sport. I only took it up last year and I'm hoping to get into some more matches when my family life will allow it.
  2. I thought I'd say Hi to you all. Been shooting all my life but I've been doing more Pistol shooting than anything else the last couple of years. Picked up Brian's book on a whim and saw some imediate improvement in my shooting so I thought I'd lurk around here for awhile and see what else I could pick up. I don't shoot competion yet as the local IDPA matches are during the week and I work the evening shift, but maybe something will change in the future. I do all my own reloading. I'm on an RCBS single stage right now and have been for the last 30+ years as I reload for rifle also. I am looking at expanding my loading area and picking up a Dillon in the future. I almost picked one up last year but I decided to spend the money on a new P220 instead. Can't blame for that I guess.
