Just thought I"d share my experience with this product as some other left handers out there might benefit.
I'm shooting a Gen 2 G17 and thought I'd try out the Vickers Extended magazine release. It's a good product. It's nicely made and the install was quick. I think it would be just about perfect for a righty. It's not too sharp, not too long....it's just right!
However, being a lefty it didn't work for me. I found that the extension just barely grazed my trigger finger. It wasn't a bid deal but still slightly distracting. interestingly, the added length actually slowed me down. I found that with the added length, my index finger would press down more on the side of the release rather than the top of the release. This led to less positive ejections and required more force. With the original stock release my finger pressed straight down on top of the release, had more positive ejections, took less force and was smoother overall.
I tried it in my right hand and it was fantastic with my thumb.
So long story short. If you are a lefty you might want to try it out on a buddy's glock first. If you are a righty, it's pretty much perfect.
