  1. The Taylor Freelance 41+1 kits were rock solid for me but that was after doing prep on the mag body and follower. You want to clean up any flashing inside the mag tube and around the skirt of the follower. TF wants you to taper the back of the follower slightly as well. In my experience if you can thumb out a full mag as fast as you can 2-3 times, that's a good indication the mag is ready for a range test for full confidence.

  2. My preference is 135gr bullets as you get the slower recoil impulse but better feeding than 147gr, which tend to be truncated cones. That said I haven't shot reloads in a while and box 115 and 124s shoot fine and any difference I see would be negated by an extra 10 mins of dryfire a week.

    Shoot what's cheapest imo.

  3. I've shot both and for competition I prefer the 4 weight SCS. The 5 weight actually has more buffering potential beyond just the weights as the slide is made out of steel vs the aluminum of the 4 weight slide. The 5 weight actually felt softer to me but the dot moved way more and my double taps were usually alpha charlie instead of two alpha with the 4 weight at the same distance. If I was shooting recreationally, had a higher caliber gun like 40 or 45, or had a bolt that needed the weight removed to be compatible with a SCS I would run the 5 weight.

  4. Was this a costume match or something?

No disrespect amigo, but if you showed up to a regular match like that outta the blue.... Dang!

It was the last match for the indoor league, they hand out trophys for everyone then hold two small stages. It's usually BUG orientated, so I figured it was a good venue for the suit with limited round count and minimal movement. The one stage being 24 rounds threw me off but ended up working out ok.

  5. Our indoor winter league had its trophy night match where they distribute plaques and have two small stages, so I figured that was the perfect venue to try out my newly completed Stormtrooper armor. A coworker borrowed me his Sterling 9mm pistol and I did my best to miss every target like a good stormtrooper.

This table start blew as I can't see anything below my nose level with the helmet on and bending over isn't the easiest.

  6. Getting a handguard in a shorter length would cut weight for you, but I don't think ditching the TD is worth it. It's aluminum and not out at the front of the gun like the handguard, so I don't think you'll notice the difference as much. Plus it looks awesome and sometimes you have to make sacrifices to be cool.

  7. Mine took 2 or 3 weeks to show up. It's a really good cost per round carried setup and I used it for a season on high round count stages. My only complaint is that the retention is a bit too much and can be a very slight detriment to speed, it's also limited to dual loading. it's a good buy if you're okay with those small issues.
