  1. uncle mikes paddle holsters are legal, it is all i use in every division their belt holsters can be modified to be legal
  2. thanks allot, i do think i screwed up a bit, it should have been around 90-92 at this stage of my shooting, but i will take it even if it is really on the low end of master class, i don't feel bad at all doing it in less than 18 months from the first time i drew from a holster
  3. chills, chill for a second{lol} i have given this thread some thought, and you do have a point about sandbaggers, and let me be the only one ever to admit to sandbagging {will explain}, i have discover that there are three types of shooters in this sport 1. honest shooter, he is typically in master class or in the bottom of his classification 2. the sandbagger, goes up in one class, then shoots a major match in a much lower class than his abilities 3. the non-sanbagger, not good enough in any class to even sandbag, and typically hates better shooters in general now if anyone thinks for a second that making a stage part of your clasificacion will detour sandbaggers, your kidding yourself, a good sandbagger will just sandbag on the stage, and even if it where to be kept secret, it may or may not show shooting abilities, everyone has good days, everyone has bad days now for My explanation i am classified the same in four guns, this shows allot of a consistently, i shot 4 major matches last year, even though i won 1 division,1 1st place {then 2nd,3rd}, i still did not move up,{not my fault, i did try} and at the time i did have the abilities to shoot in the upper class, i did not do it consistently enough to be competitive, and now in the last 7 months i have came a long way, and very well could be competitive in the upper classes, but can i just move myself up because i know i am shooting better? no do i go out of my way to shoot a classifier because i am shooting better when my classification is not expired? no so anyone working hard at becoming a better shooter is more often than not called a sandbagger, while at one match i may have won first place by a wide margin, then the next match not as well while shooting in the same class and same division, it ether means i am in the class i should be in, or at the second match i just got out sandbagged, you make the call and as far as trophy hounds go here is my take{since i have been referred to outside this board as a trophy hound, which is stupid, just because i occasionally win them} myself as well as many other spend allot of cash on this sport, from multiple guns, to ammo, and the time and money spent on matches, for me i am married with children, this can get in the way of allot of things, bringing home a earned trophy is in a way a justification for some money and time spent, not to mention the nights before a big match spent neglecting the wife and kids so i can get to bed early to make in to the match in time the next day
  4. that's funny stuff chills, because i was the only one at the last classifier with a calculator, and just happened to be i was trying to figure out how much time i had left to make ssp master, which would be far from sandbagging i know i had the only calculator, because people who where done where sent to me to add up their scores
  5. took two tries, and it works perfect
  6. there are extended mag releases, and then there are the ones that are the size of a dime, those are the ones that they do not allow

    Cdp

if you want to be competitive go for the 5", if you shoot just for the fun of it a 4" will do, the sight distance is always better, recoil is less, and velocity is higher out of a 5", loosing that one inch will do little for your transitions, it may even be worse due to the slightly elevated recoil as far as the aluminium frame, i will not own one {for serious shooting}, they will show wear at 20,000 rounds, that means the gun will last me about a year, i have well over that in my Wilson combat and it is still tight, and shoots as well as it did the day i bought it
  8. there is not a match i have ever been to that the shooting sequence is not done in the classifier, only difference is targets are mixed up, and maybe more of them, how you get to the shooting can be different, but at a classifier it covers 99% of any targets you will engage at a match, i myself would rather move up at a match than a classifier any day
  9. i think you have that backwards, sanctioned matches require the one year limit, club matches do not
  10. ther ya go chills, next time i call you up to the line, i can yell "WARRIOR COME OUT AND PLAYAAAAAA" but do us both a favor wear a shirt{lol}
  11. sorry but i do not understand what is so difficult in the answer "fit in the box", it is clear and will always be the end result as long as it is withing the weight limit i know some guys use the sti/svi mag wells, but file them down to fit into the box
  12. yep that is exactly what it means "no heavy and/or cone style barrels without a barrel bushing" unless of course it is a 4.2 inch barrel or less
  13. hats off to you fortyfiveshooter, i went last year, and it was not only a well organized match, the prize table was a sight o behold compared to others, heck the shooter package alone was better than some prize tables oh! while i have your attention, whats the word on a date for this year, or at least speculation on the month?
  14. i just started using titegroup in my 9mm's, and i have to say i am pretty impressed, my cronographed deviation was 9fps on ten rounds using rainier 124 grain bullets 4.4 grains where hitting 1125 =139pf 4.3............................. 1100 =136pf i have some 4.2 loaded, and will test them tomorrow, recoil on those where very nice and soft

    New Rule?

there we go with that implying again bill wilson stated himself he draws no salary, that would mean he draws no weekly/bi-weekly paycheck, no implication towards anything else, he stated this himself last year now the loophole 1. if he has the corporation set up correctly, he can draw a quarterly check and not pay the full amount of income taxes he would if it where in the form of income 2. his wife may very well draw a check bottom line, the statement he made may very well be a honest statement, to read into it any further is not bill wilsons fault anyone of us have the same opportunity bill Wilson had when he started i.d.p.a., go ahead and try it for yourself, the years later hear a bunch of people on the internet whine moan and groan because they think you might be entitled to a dime, after all we know it is easy and free to do{sarcasm} back to the rules if it is a rule, and even if a club misreads the rule, isn't what matters is that we all do it, and not just you?

    New Rule?

who started i.d.p.a.? why would it be a crime if he benefited from it? the statement that he doesn't draw a salary may be correct, he could still share profit from dividends, and if he does he is entitled to it, after all it belongs to him doesn't it?

    New Rule?

page 52 rule SHOOTER RESPONSABILITIES #7obtain a valid classification and maintain it by shooting the classifier at least once every (12) months (except master class shooters) page 71 CONTESTANT RESPOSNABILITIES #2 shoot the 90 round classifier match to the best of his ability. the classifier may be re-shot as frequently as desired as an attempt to raise your classification one would think that this would be impossible to interprete that you could go down in classification, but i guess not, masters do not have to shoot it because they obviously cannot go up any further i will admit there are a few, and only a few rules that could be confusing, but none i have seen in this thread, a rule book such as this can be interpreted several ways, as with any book, who is to blame every time some nutjob misinterprets the bible?, certainly not god or those who wrote it, the blame goes to the person who misread it, i have seen md's that do not know the rules {not you cof}, and many so's that are unaware of scoring, and pe infractions, but i do not blame the rules, it is their fault for having their own head up their butts, and not understanding what is written it has been almost one year since the "new" rule book was introduced, so there is no longer any "new" rules, if you have not read the rule book {all 82 pages} in one year period of time it is not the books fault, i do find some try to make it difficult by claiming the rules are not written correctly because they do not agree with them

    New Rule?

it is a clear and stated rule, it is enforced at sanctioned matches period. every sanctioned match i attended this year has stated the rule in the application, and in the confirmation as well, this rule has been in affect for almost a year now, it is the shooters responsibility to read what is in black and white and as far as not doing it at the nationals, i cannot say ether way, i did not attend this year, but i would not chance it, since they do have your information anyway, i would no more chance not being classified than i would lie about the two sanctioned match rule
  19. anyone know what that font is? i had a "got 1911" shirt made up, white on black
  20. i have only shot i.d.p.a., only negative thing i have ever heard about USPSA is the shooters are just a bit more serious, and not as much bs'n going on the side as we tend to do,{ don't know if it is true, just saying what goes on in the discussion} and honestly i would not want to hear any bashing about the sport because it is just trigger time, i fall back into "that's why the make ford, and that's why they make Chevy" different strokes for different folks i find it immature and self centered to bash each other, just because a person likes one more than the other doesn't mean it is superior i shoot i.d.p.a. because that is what is most available to shoot where i live, when i get a chance i will shoot uspsa, maybe i will like it, maybe i won't, but regardless i will still respect it as a shooting sport, i don't care for trap and skeet, but i do see the attraction
  21. very well explained, that's pretty much how i viewed it, and stated in my first reply in the thread, but not as well defined
  22. it doesn't matter how you got there, now you know the important thing to remeber about this rule is everyone has to do it, so unless they are cheating there is no real handicap to it
  23. i think some are missing the point of the rule it is there to discourage round dumping, and is hardly ever enforced unless of course it is blatant, and then if it was not enforced then who would be to blame? picture it at a big match, where everyone watching saw a diliberate violation of the rule and most of the so's i know in this particular match would give you the "if this where a sanctioned match" speech, are in fact doing so to teach the rules, if in fact he where at a big match and did exactly as he described he very well may have received a penalty { i know the stage he did, and he did it at the key point to do it, and was open about it} the particular match he is talking about is a weekly match ran as a "non sanctioned or non club match", rules are a bit more relaxed as to promote shooting in general, no cover required, no ftn unless you completely miss the target, while round dumping is not encouraged, fight night is not there do cram it down ones throat, it is a blast and really helps new shooter get involved in shooting sports
