Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. For me 115 grain fmj loads most accurate , clean and low flash powder is WST, followed real close by N320, HP38, N310, SR 4756, WSF and Solo1000. For 124 grain fmj N320, N310, WST For 147 grain plated only one powder given me great accuracy is Solo1000. Note the barrels are with a 1:16 twist rate out of Glocks. After market barrels.
  2. My favorite WST load in 45 ACP 4.7 grains 230 FMJ OAL 1.230 Crimp .469 very minimal flash out of the short barrel Glock 30.
  3. I too like WST, really like it for the 45 ACP. The only load data I could ever find for it on the 9mm was for 115 fmj and 124 fmj in an old hornady load book. I've used it on the 115 fmj. I've yet to try it on the 124 fmj. The max load for the 115 fmj is 5.6 grains. COL for fmj was 1.105 and rated to go at 1150. I've shot it that way seems fine. I don't have a chrono so I don't know how fast officially it goes. But it is very accurate load and one of my favorite loads with the 115 fmj. Accuracy and consistency, is up there with N320 and HP38 loads I've used. Good luck in your search
  4. OAL length and bullet shape are specific to each gun. I've had where the gun just doesn't like a specific shape to feed correctly. I just had to stop using it with that gun. Do what your doing and find out what your CZ likes.
  5. I really like WSF too. very versatile. It has about the same load specs a Unique without all the Flash and dirt and it meters better too. Plus can use in 9mm and 40 as well. Favorite load with WSF 230 grain fmj, 6.0 grains OAL 1.250 crimp of .468. Very little flash.
  6. my Speer 13 manual lists W231 6.2 grains max OAL 1.260 858 FPS from a barrel length 4.4 inch that is for a 230 grain TMJ, that to me sounds like it would work. you most likely would not need to get to 6.2 grains. Since you already have the powder. It is just a thought.
  7. I know of others who shoot Hp-38/W231. Those are the same powder and like it. You didn't mention a bullet type so it is hard to mention any loads.
  8. I have found not enough crimp it don't feed properly. Too much crimp will kill accuracy. The type of bullet, you will have more or less crimp. For example plated bullets I crimp to .375 and FMJ .371. The plated is softer material and the brass gouges the bullet if crimped to hard. Where FMJ can take more crimp without gouging. Then it can also be gun specific to which like what crimp. Last week I was trying some loads, all the same crimp and load. My Glock 17 loved them, my 26 hated the same load. The groups you would not have believed they were the same load.
  9. Yes. I crimp to that on FMJ loads. Plated loads I crimp to. 375 that is mixed brass
  10. Is your brass that thin, or isn't 0.371 kind of overdoing the crimp? Last time I measured some 9mm brass, it was around 0.011.

  12. I shoot for 115 grain FMJ 5.2 grains COL 1.135. Feels a little less than 115 grain winchester white box. Cycles the gun fine. I've shot 5.0 grains still cycles the gun. But it is a powder puff load. crimp on both were .371. both worked fine in Glock 26 and 17. No flash out of both guns.
  13. Personally with 115grain plated bullets I have to goto a light crimp on the bullet .375 to get them to work. too heavy or too light you don't know where the bullet is going. Now the jacketed bullets a heavier crimp. .371 works pretty good. Then the powder and OAL lengths play a part but the crimp will kill accuracy on the plated.
