Hmmm...seems like I need to bring a few rounds of .40 with me on Wed or Thur.
  3. Great training today guys. Learned a lot, especially considering I shoot with all of you on a regular basis.

I'll say it again...as far as sandbagging goes, your demonstration today was an epic failure
  5. you can count me in to help RO.... but only if we can have a stage that starts with the shooter either carrying..or better yet..milking a goat. That's some real world sh#&.....
  6. Happy Birthday Cowboy Steve. Glad to see you have joined the club of people who get to spend their birthdays in third world Sh#*holes.
  7. I am envisioning stage ideas for the Battle in the Bluegrass match in October! Dave Start position: Seated on camel, cradling goat....
  8. They probably start out as hostages/prisoners, develop stockholm syndrome, and become war brides....theoretically speaking of course...
  9. dude....just let it go.....let...it...go. You canceled my favorite match when I'm home and I only get to shoot about half the year. Just.....can't....let....(trying)...it.........go. Look on the bright side....if we were playing by Yemeni rules I would have already stabbed you in the heart with a Jambiya and taken all of your favorite goats...
  10. Corey, I've got an Xacti that I picked up 4 years ago and it takes great video. A lot of my FB videos are with that camera but I've converted them to flv files to upload them so they lose quite a bit of their resolution.
  11. Yeah, I'm not overly impressed with the blue guns but they would be a lot easier to get through customs than an airsoft gun...it just looks and feels too real to the average customs guy. I was just reading a bit of Steve Anderson's latest book and he mentioned that it can actually hurt your shooting if you do nothing but dry fire so maybe I'm taking the wrong approach. Maybe it's just a matter of doing some visualization, movement drills, etc. while I'm at work and then doubling up on the dry fire/live fire when I'm home.
  12. I've got the physical training part down. I'm working on the 2.5 Captains of Crush gripper (240lbs). I have also been doing some position entry and exit drills.
  13. My predicament is that I spend well over half my time out of the country working. In most of the countries I work trying to get even an airsoft gun through customs is just asking for trouble. So I'm basically looking for some feedback from anyone else that travels a lot and what you have come up with to at least maybe get some dry firing in. I had thought about taking a blue plastic training gun, grinding down the crappy sights, and mounting a proper set of sights on it. Follow that up with maybe adding a bit of weight here and there to make it a bit heavier and to get it to feel more like the real deal. I wouldn't be able to do mag changes but at least I could work on draws, transitions, etc. Any feedback would be appreciated. I've been stagnant in my shooting for the last 3 years because I've spent 2/3 of my time out of the country.
  14. I don't know anything about the IPSC clubs there but I can tell you that driving through that city at night is a nightmare. My girlfriend and I were driving from Germany down to Gavi for a wedding and ended up in downtown Milan at around midnight. We almost got plowed into by guys on scooters a number of times and every red light is like the starting line at a demolition derby.
  15. Sounds like fun. If I'm in the country I'm in...
  16. Yeah, I was fleecing it up too....and you got the gamer part right...it's just a different game (with some slightly twisted rules )... and I proudly accept that title from a fellow GAMER..
  17. still not too bad with a wheel gat. It's always more fun though if you have at least a few people shooting revolver. I felt okay about my run considering the fact that I had to stop and pick up a mag on two stages and had a 3 or 4 second pause on the Santa stage before I noticed that I'd pulled one on the left hand target and re-engaged it. IDPA is a new game for me and there will be a learning curve. I hate to say this but I'll probably end up picking up a vest at some point for a bit more consistency on concealed draws and reloads...
  18. You sure that Barry and Jeremy weren't co-counsel on the SO's side Yeah I'm sure, they both had my back...besides, Barry was too busy giving you procedurals from 3 stages away
  19. For my first IDPA match it was a fun match. I had to pick up a couple of mags along the way...you still have to convince me the sense of not being able to drop an empty mag with a round in the chamber. waiting to reload until behind cover also tried my patience a bit. All in all though the stages were fun, I managed to make it through without a procedural (although I had to argue one with the SO...with Barry and Jeremy as co-counsel) and I will be shooting this match whenever I'm in the US on the 3rd weekend of the month. If I can get some jacketed rounds reloaded I'll join you shooting ESR next time Corey (probably March).
  20. I picked up an STI Sentinel (now discontinued) not long ago and, after shooting a few matches with it, I really like this gun. It comes ready to go out of the box with ambis, front and back strap checkering, adjustible sights, recoil master, etc.
  21. Held a Toys for Tots charity poker tournament at my house yesterday. Raised a total of $680 with matching contributions from one of my poker playing amigos and myself. That's going to buy a few bicycles. Did it on short notice this year but I think next year we will try to make it a bigger event and get some advertising out there.
  22. I just got this picture in my head of people reading this and then running outside and finding the nearest dog and flipping it over slapping the tape measure to his UNIT and looking for the belly button....now I'm not saying I just did this but it could happen.... It does make for an awkward moment with your neighbor when he was just trying to walk his dog....and I had to show the police officer the thread as well...
