Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Lightweight barrels and competition don't always go together, I can tell you from experience that I've had my Daniel Defense light weight barrel heat up so much that it was almost unbearable to hold the rail at the muzzle end. Just my two cents. I'd second JP's barrel, it's next on my list. I'd rather invest in a company who invests in our support anyway!
  2. Will be registering tonight! Glad you folks are putting it on again this year! Maybe we can find what the storm buried last year...
  3. I second Invictus Practical. It's already saved me seconds versus my other load. It's improved my shotgun loads tremendously!
  4. I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in saying that we know you only produce quality parts and components. I ran the MOA deluxe package last week without ANY issues. All buttons, latches and handles worked splendidly and no one knew the difference. And I'd like to throw out an RO friendly upgrade. A bright red follower, so much easier to show clear. Great seeing you, still super happy about the MOA!!!
  5. I respectfully disagree. I would bet everyone would invest in that if they were concerned about a DQ or a 30 second penalty at a match. And by that example of accessory parts vs price of gun, I see tons of TTI base pads on mags for Glocks, etc. The cost is a small price to pay for such an important function. My vote is for you to make one :-)
  6. I use their scope mounts on my 3 Gun rifles and they are top quality. I'm fortunate enough to shoot matches with one of their shooters locally. Great guy and tests lots of fun Aero Precision stuff!
  7. So I took my new MOA complete deluxe pimp daddy M3000 special (the new official name, I think he's still updating his website, kidding of course...) out to play this weekend at two different matches. It's the 26" model with both +8 and +10 tubes. First off I received it on Thursday and had no time to shoot it. Good thing Tom pre-tested this for me. First stage I had 3 doubles, which after getting feedback from my fellow shooters, found out I had a weak grip. So the remaining stages I held it like a man's supposed to and had no issues. I had the +8 tube on it. The next day I shot a different match and switched to the +10 to see how managable it would be with the extended length. Ended up being perfectly fine and I'm happy that it's not too long or cumbersome! Only issue I had that day was running low 1200 FPS S&B slugs, I'll switch up to the Federal Tru Ball Low Recoil 1300 FPS going forward. Tom was amazing to work with every step of the way, updating me as he progressed. I've done a few full house customs and this was by far the best experience and fastest turnaround time! I highly recommend an MOA M3000! Whoo hoo!
  8. Jesse and Ryan, Tom answered my question. My curiosity wasn't from actually firing the shotgun but from cycling the bolt. There's a distinct metal on metal contact sound and I wondered if this would be a wear issue. Went out to shoot today and damn, does this thing rock and roll. Ended up putting a Hiviz Flame front sight and I have two words for anyone who's thinking of upgrading, Blue Loctite. Also just got in my Invictus Practical quad loaders and after only 1 night of getting used to it, I loaded faster than my other load in competition, huge improvement. As my buddy said, it's a game changer! Thanks for all the help! And thanks Tom for building a rock star shotgun for me!!!
  9. Quick question, for this M3000, is there rubber pad or something that prevents metal on metal contact for the bolt cycling? Something like a bolt bumper? Just noticed the clack sound when cycling the bolt. Thanks! Going to test it today in a local match, super excited!
  10. LOL, I was like we got a new guy to the thread, new pic for your avatar..Yah the Kick Ezz pad def helps, while shooting this past weekend I really didn't even notice the recoil even with the slugs. It may have been the adrenaline flowing threw my veins though, man I love this sport!!! Congrats zeroniner on your M3k your are gonna love it!! It's just my luck that I happened to know Tom from being RO's together at a match last year. And after spending an entire day reading this thread completely, I was sold. I can't speak enough of the benefit and resource that this thread has provided, including everyone who's taken the time to contribute! WOOT!!!
  11. I think I just wet myself! YAY!!! I can't wait, I usually enjoy the mod process, however seeing how Tom has mastered the pimpage of the 3000, it was only fitting to have him do it up right. It will have every MOA upgrade/option available and still be under the cost of any comparable shotgun. Jesse actually got me started down this path after I've read his reviews about it. So thank you very much Jesse! I got two 3 gun matches this weekend so we will see how fast the learning curve is on this one. I'll be sure to report back to make everyone envious! Thanks again Tom!
  12. How about a totally different angle of it looks good on TV? I know they shorten the course and use fancy targets, all for the sake of the TV viewers, maybe the "racking" the slide gets the audience more pumped and excited? Maybe so they can play "Click, Click, Boom" as a soundtrack? Just my opinion...
  13. I was told by the sales guys at Lids that their blank caps are made by New Era. As for fit, there are many differences. Someone mentioned not having one that comes down to the ears. I've bought two caps recently, one was Oakley and the other ArcTeryx and they both fit MY head differently. I would say that it really depends on you. Once you find a "fit" that's good, then start looking at different brands. As for the flat bill, any amount of work can make a flat bill perfectly curved to your desire, the baseball folks have been doing that for years!
  14. Are you top rails 100% completely level? Many are not, mil-spec is a range of measurement not an exact spec so they often vary. Having an even or lower handguard rail would not affect any performance of POI but having a higher rail might "affect" it should you brace on the hand guard. I've ran into this once however my issue was the T markings and spacing were off and I couldn't use the mounting point on the scope base. Have you tried to push the scope all the way forward in the mount to maximize your eye relief? Pics would be helpful too.
  15. I love gear and especially gloves, I'll own a pair for gardening, handy man work, motorcycle riding, cold weather, etc. So when I started competing I said heck yeah I'll use gloves! But only to find that I'd have to put it on and take it off when having to tape targets, so I eventually gave up wearing gloves altogether, when it's cold out, I'll just use those pocket hand warmers in my pockets!
