  1. I have the Inline mount for my SDB, I think it is easier to set up and stronger than the Dillon strong mount I have for my 550. I also have tool head stands, the primer tube holder, and the rail for attaching the stands to a wall. All are top notch.
  2. I have used Bayou and SNS, both worked well. The next bullets I try will be the Blue Bullets. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the coated bullets, just pick the company that has the bullets you want and the best price and service.
  3. Chrome Version 26.0.1410.64 m Cleared cache, etc. Can not change my e-mail address, the form keeps telling me that e-mail addresses do not match. David
  4. This is what Alliant shows for the 148 HBWC in their data: OAL Barrel Primer Powder Grn Velocity 1.155 6 CCI 500 Bullseye 3.1 799 This is for 38 special brass, I can't see how loading this in a 357 case could make it anything but safer. I would shoot them without worry in any 357 I own. David
  5. I probably shot 200 rounds out of my 642 and several hundred rounds out of my 4" 63. None were timed.
  6. I have had no luck with any 200 grain bullet with the Glock 30. Jacketed, moly, cast all don't reliably cycle the 30. I think the double recoil spring setup makes the 30 touchy with the lighter loads, I have no problems keeping the 30 running with 230 grain bullets. I would love to shoot the 200s in mine if someone has figured that out.
  7. I keep thinking how angry the bear would be if I shot it with my P3AT, I'm pretty sure that it would only tick it off even more . Luckily our bears aren't as big as the Alaskan bears or as aggressive. The local bears are usually content to eat our garbage and leave people alone. I have watched them lay on their backs in the front yard and play with something in their paws like one of my killer pups playing with a toy. I think they are cool, but I'm damn wary of making sure that I'm close to an escape when they are around. I'm most afraid of cornering one or ticking off one of the she bears with cubs. We had friends release a dog into their back yard without knowing that a bear was occupying it at the time. the bear went through the stockade fence and made a big hole on the way out. David
  8. This morning at 5:40am while walking my 2 ferocious and terrifying miniature dachshunds I had the joy of seeing one of the biggest Florida black bears I have ever seen, I assume it was male because it was huge (at 30 yards it looked even bigger). When the dogs started their barking another bear (nearly as big as the first) walked across the yard behind the other. I would guess both were at least 350 pounds. They didn't even look at my 2 killer pups, they just proceeded to slowly leave my yard and walk over to eat the neighbor's garbage. David
  9. I like this one: http://michaelbane.blogspot.com/
  10. My wife is dealing with recurrent metastatic breast cancer which we began dealing with in November of last year. So far she has had 2 surgeries and has had 2 major treatments of chemotherapy. Thank God for insurance since one of the surgeries was more than 35K and the other was almost 9K. Out of pocket about 2-3K so far this year which is pretty good considering. We just got the claim for the first chemotherapy treatment 5 weeks ago. Almost $10K for one damn treatment, of which she will have 6. She also takes a weekly treatment of another chemotherapy which she will take for a year, $1400+ for each treatment. My insurance pays 90% and I have a co-payment of 10%, if you do the math I would be paying more than 10K dollars in co-pays, luckily we have a family maximum of $4000 for the year, of which we have already met about half. How the hell do people who aren't insured deal with this, we both work and our combined income is pretty good and this still slams the family budget in the groin. The good news is that her cancer looks like it will be beaten down again. David
  11. We have a friend who teaches HS math, she refers to these pants as the "small hotel" pants because they don't have any "ball room". As the father of 2 girls I can definitively say that girl jeans are different than boy jeans, especially these days. Most girl jeans are cut way differently and are made to ride much lower. I see these types of "boys" when I drop my 10th grader off at school, what a bunch of wussies. David
  12. This happened locally about 4-5 years ago, our local genius robbed a bank with his monitoring device on Of course he was in jail in about 2 hours. David
  13. I quit with the newspaper about 5 years ago because our local paper (Orlando Sentinel) is a liberal POS which pissed me off every time I read it. I started reading the newspaper as a kid of about 7 or 8 and read it nearly every day until I got sick of the media stupidity. Don't even get me started about our television media here in Orlando, they suck even worse with their "Breaking News" and teasing trailers like "Your Water May Kill You" or "Why You Might Be Living Next to a Serial Killer", more at 11pm, be sure to watch. Our media during the many hurricanes of the last few years did so much self promotion and self praising that I now hurriedly mute the television when one of their umpteen commercials comes on. I am on the internet all day, every day, my wife will start telling me some news story she just saw and I'll say "Yes, I read that 3 days ago", pisses her off
  14. These folks should be pretty convenient to your in-laws, I think they run a pretty nice place. I live quite a ways north of Orlando so I haven't been in Addison's in about a year. Addison's Gun Shop 4764 Orange Blossom Trail Kissimmee, FL 34746 Phone: 407-933-5779 If you are looking for something used you might try either: http://www.planetdeland.com/aaapawn.htm http://www.centralfloridapawn.com/ David
  15. I wish I knew, I have been observing my identical twin brother (the ugly one) being abused by his wife of nearly 25 years for the last 4 years. She is suffering from delusional jealousy and basically watches him and tries to control him nearly 24 hours a day. She has ruined our family relationship and is getting worse with every passing month. She won't go to counseling again because the counselor told her she was sick and wrong to do what she is doing. Drugs didn't work and my brother won't make the hard step of moving on, supposedly because they have kids that are 9,16, and 19. The kids are totally screwed up, they don't have a clue how normal male/female relationships should be. He is always being accused of "looking" at women. Hell all men look at women don't we? I wish he would kick her ass to the curb but so far he just whines about it. David
  16. Not to be nasty since Midway is a big sponsor of NRA, but if they could teach Larry Potterfield to look at the prompter over the camera instead of to the side I would be eternally grateful. He obviously can't memorize his spiel and his looking at the prompter the whole time he is talking is distracting. It could be just me, but he never looks like he is looking at the camera. I believe they could hire almost anyone with any training as the host of the American Rifleman show and exceed Mr. Keefe. He does not have the skills that it takes to convey stuff well verbally. Neither do I, but I'm not hosting a television show. David

    Seagulls

I can still remember my Dad snagging a sea gull on a spoon while we were trolling for bluefish and Spanish Mackerel off Orange Beach, AL in the mid 70s. The sea gull was very pissed and my Dad was reeling him towards the boat, we picked up oars, poles, etc. in order to defend ourselves. Luckily (for us probably) the sea gull finally got free of the spoon and left in an outraged state. I also remember throwing trash fish up off the shrimp boat floors and having the sea gulls snag them in the air. Some nasty little flying varmints. David

    Cancer !

I always laugh now when I hear someone say something about the "weaker" sex. Just isn't so My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2000, we had gone shooting sporting clays for my birthday on October 20th and the recoil from the shotgun made the lump sore. Shooting probably saved my wife's life. After lots of testing and a biopsy we got the news that she had breast cancer. She had 2 surgeries (lumpectomy and then a surgery to get larger margins), 6 months of chemo, and 3 months of radiation. She lost her hair (eyelashes, eyebrows, etc.). We have 2 daughters who were 4 and 8 at the time. It was a real tough time having to explain that Mom was really sick. At Thanksgiving of this year we noticed a swollen spot under my wife's arm. She had an appointment that week with her oncologist who started the testing cycle that we were very familiar with. In mid December we got the word we were expecting but still dreading, she has cancer again. Telling our daughters at age 11 and 15 is by far the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life. After being sad, then pissed at the world, I have come again to the determination that we will get through this again. Her cancer is isolated to the axilla (under her arm) on one side in 2 lymph nodes. Our oncologist wants them removed so we are working with Mayo Clinic in an attempt to get their oncology team to do surgery on my wife. Cancer sucks, but it can be beaten with a positive attitude and good medical care in a lot of cases. Good luck to your friend to anyone else suffering with this nasty stuff. David
  19. Cypress Gardens is in Lake Wales, they might have a place suitable for your party. Also if you look on 27 towards Haines City there are tons of restaurants and such, someone should have a place suitable for your party. Also you aren't far from Lakeland, which is quite a bit larger and should have a lot more choices in restaurants and venues. David
  20. You more than likely aren't losing the internet, IE is crashing and snitching to MS about what happened. Like the poster above said try Firefox and see if the same thing happens. I never use IE except on those rare sites that don't work well with Firefox. You can also run "ping www.yahoo.com" at a command prompt (or with run) and see that the internet is still there after these crashes. David
  21. I gave my 2 week notice at an aerospace engineering company in Huntsville, AL, then gave the guy my notice about jury duty the following week. Guy sh*t a brick because I was involved in a major project. He called the judge and tried to get me out of the jury duty, judge told him to pound sand. I spent a week on jury duty, worked my last week and then got my vacation pay. I did give a month's notice one time, that was a mistake, I was so damn bored for the last month and I couldn't start any new projects. I also got the same treatment as the OP on one job, I took a 20K raise and a 25K bonus to move to Orlando back in 95. I gave the company I worked for the option of paying me just 10K more than I was making at the time. They showed my brother and I both to the door the same day. Of course they ended up coming back within 3 months and paying us a butt load of contract money to fix all the stuff they no longer had the ability to do . Very sweet feeling going back to the same asshats that didn't need me and having them beg me to bail their asses out. Still makes me get a sh*t eating grin almost 10 years later. And I work for that company again now, here in Orlando in a remote office making about twice what I made in 1995. David
  22. I have been sleeping little lately and nothing pisses me off like planning to catch up a little and some yutz running up and down the street in front of the house with an ATV wide open. That and my neighbor who turns by my house at 3am with his Harley and hammers it the 100 yards to his house. I love Bike Week when he has an extra 20-30 biker friends running the roads with him. Makes me think of all those war movies where they string the cable across the road Just kidding of course, I like bikes, I just wish the drunk asshats riding them would show a little common courtesy.
  23. My cousin is a good guy who has served the community in a thankless job for almost 30 years. He is also one hell of a shooter, I grew up shooting and hunting with him and I have been with him while he was firing his service weapon (SIG 226 at that time). I believe he has the support system through family, friends, and the department to get past all this. I guess there are always people who want to tear down people who are there to serve and protect the rest of us. I remember when I worked at Texas Instruments in Dallas back in the late 80s there was a hostage situation at DFW with a guy holding a gun to the head of a kid. Several of the engineers (DUH) I worked with were incredulous that the police didn't just shoot the cocked revolver right out of the guy's hand and end the situation. I tried to explain how stupid that plan was but many never got it. David
  24. I have a first cousin who has been a deputy sheriff for almost 30 years in northwest Florida. He and 2 other deputies got called into a situation where a suicidal man was driving erratically, threatening suicide, and brandishing a firearm. After following this guy to his home and into his back yard in an attempt to get him to drop the weapon, the guy raised the gun at the officers and was shot by all 3. The man's family has been very understanding and realize that the cops had no other alternative here. There are a few idiots in the community who have been asking why they didn't shoot to wound, use a taser, beanbag, etc.. I feel for my cousin here, to know that you had to take a human life and then be second-guessed and criticized by people who have never had a weapon aimed at them from 10 feet away. The level of ignorance about firearms and police training is pretty astounding, to think that officers would try to shoot a gun out of someone's hand when they are in immediate danger of being shot is pretty dang stupid. Here is a link to the story for those interested, if you read the comments from the public on the story some of them are pretty far out there: http://www.pnj.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?A...ENTERTAINMENTfe
  25. Get a copy of Todd Bender's tapes on skeet, I shot skeet competitively for about 4 years before I got addicted to sporting clays. Todd's tapes helped me a great deal. I wish we had a local skeet or trap range, I loved shooting clay birds. David
