It should. SRO uses same footprint as RMR. Standard height sights work fine with ZEV OZ9 due to their RMR cut being deeper than most. I believe all the ZEV slides are like that.

SRO on an OZ9 at NRA show posted from a friends FB.
  3. Well that figures but May 9th isn't to bad of a wait. I'm a patient man even if it's June I don't really mind. It is pretty funny looking from the side.... almost like a snorkel on a Jeep. Better in my opinion than the Aimpoint ACRO. That thing looks like a double wide trailer parked on your slide!
  4. Ordered one as well from Arms Unlimited. With free shipping and no sales tax it comes out cheaper than EuroOptic and it says in stock.....though I'm not so sure about that. Looking forward to testing it out. I've had nothing but good experience with Type 2 RMRs. I have 7 of them with tens of thousands of rounds between them. Never minded the blue tint and changing the battery never really affected zero. Even if it did its a 10 round exercise at best to be back on. Hopefully this is an improvement. The top loading battery is at the very least more convenient and the bigger glass will be great for USPSA....although I again I have no problem with the RMR. Be interesting to see how it works in holsters and for concealed carry as well. Slightly larger but I think it will be manageable. I do wonder if the farther forward portion will require some holster dremeling.
  5. If you pay 699 for an RMR I've got ocean front property in Arizona to sell you. 490 bucks on Euro Optic.

Yup same exact footprint. Trijicon SRO released yesterday. Looks like a solid offering. Not ditching any of my RMRs but probably pick one up for carry optics to play with. Appears Trijicon hit it out of the park to me.

How is essentially raffling a pistol a crime? I'm asking honestly. Manufactures and dealers do huge online giveaways all the time how would this be any different? All guns are shipped to and transferred through and FFL. In one you are buying a ticket, seat, spot..whatever you want to call it. In the other you get entries for viewing a FB page or subscribing to an email etc..... That being said I do notice that all of them (multiple sites) sell seats to "reviews" then they do a "giveaway" at the end of said name review. I also noticed several are in Illinois?
  8. You don't think the type 2 RMRs last? I know not the optic of choice for Open guns....perhaps those are the types of MRDS you are commenting on. I know some had issues with Type 1s in the past. Never any issues with my RMRs and they get abused. Not the large window of some optics but I carry mine so it's the only optic I will put on handguns. Just curious if you've experienced any issues and if so what were they and when did they fail?

    GM/M

I took classes before I ever entered USPSA or IDPA or any form of competitive shooting. Of course I got training in the Marine Corps but in the realm of pistol craft that training is a relative joke. That training (civilian courses) was important in laying down the fundamentals of marksmanship and weapons handling/manipulation and exposing what you don't know. Most new shooters have no idea how much they don't know when it comes to skilled shooting let alone learning the ins and outs of a game like USPSA. That formal training allowed me to have useful practice on my own and allowed me to build my skill set doing things the right way such that when I finally got interested in competition my initial class in USPA was B and Master in IDPA. Of course once bitten by the bug, I shot with and was mentored by better shooters, I dry fired a lot, competed about every weekend, read books etc... I took a few more courses including a 5 day Mil/LEO only pistol carbine course from Kyle Defoor. Not at all geared toward competition but shooting skills are shooting skills. Being able to shoot fast and accurate on the move and transitioning from target to target doesn't change much from the tactical world to the competition one. Tactics are a separate issue and irrelevant in the gun games. I learned a good deal from Mr. Defoor but after that I quickly noticed I could out shoot most people teaching classes geared toward Mil/LEO. I was a Master by this time and felt I'd learned enough to simply build on my own. I think this is the key. You need to have enough basis in skill and you need to know what right looks like. Then you can simply improve through focused and correct practice. You need to have some sort of performance metric though. Don't think you are good at something....know you are. One way to know is to measure yourself against the best in standardized drills and in competitions. A lot of people think they are good but thinking it is not good enough. Once I made GM I went.....whoops! I'm not ready for this! I did fine but feeling that way led me to taking some personal instruction from a very good GM. This was the first "class" I ever took with a focus toward the game. It was an eye opening experience and I learned a tremendous amount. That full day of one on one with that instructor elevated my game more than any other instruction I'd ever taken. I could shoot at a high level but I still didn't know what I didn't know......full circle. In summary I believe there are many paths. You need first a solid foundation of skills. You must know what right looks like. You must use focused practice and you need a metric or a measuring stick to measure performance. I do think formal training from the right individuals can greatly accelerate progress. Most importantly, now I think, in hindsight is that it should be FUN! This is a game. If it's not fun what is the point? It maybe took me to long to figure that one out. I walked away from USPSA about 5 years ago and competitive shooting as a whole in 2015. I've recently returned just for the enjoyment of it and it's so much better!

Shoots and handles great. I'm a big fan and will be using the platform for USPSA and as my new primary carry gun. It's replacing my Boresight Solutions Glock as my primary carry and I've carried one Boresight Glock or another everyday since 2010. Over 2k rounds through it now and I love it. Should be obvious by now I'm a huge fan. I also wish they'd allow Magwells in Carry Optics. Many firearms starting to come with them that fit well in the carry optics category.....ZEV, Canik TP9SF Combat Elite, Sig P320 X5 etc. Still very different than Open in my opinion. No 2011s, no comps, no gas pedals, no frame mounted non reciprocating dots, no Major power factor.

Glad to see it's officially on the list. I shot it at the last match anyway......local match so if somebody wanted to move me to open I wasn't going to care.

The front sight is definately the standard Glock Hex screw. I have no reason to believe the rear dovetail is any different. It uses ZEV's competition sights which are marketed specifically for Glock frames.

I'm a retired Marine and current Airline Pilot for one of the largest US carriers sooooooo....absolutely zero. Pardon me for introducing fellow gun enthusiasts and competitors to something fun that I've benefited from. Been here a few years longer than you my friend. In fact I took a 5 year hiatus from competition and recently returned.....super suspect. And I suppose yes...gambling with guns. My neighbor and I have good fun with it. Also their site is a mess right now..... they used shopify and got reported? Apparently shopify is anti-gun? They started a new one but lots of glitches.

Also worth mentioning I won my first one from The BM Revolution and they have a second one up now. Link below. Buy as many spots as you like despite the fact is says "one per". Trust me I've won several guns on there. 47 bucks a spot and limited to 39 viewers. You can also win spots to the Main giveaway via the bloopers. Fair warning it can be addictive but winning that and getting 25% of another one was pretty awesome. Two for less than the price of one. Happy hunting. Like them on FB and they often run discount codes as well....again....can be addicting. Don't say I didn't warn you. https://thebmrevolution.net/collections/webinars/products/zev-technologies-oz9-9mm-package-webinar

    ZEV OZ9

Fun fact when you register your OZ9 for warranty you get a 25% discount code with ZEV good for a year on any ZEV product. I ordered another OZ9 with the bronze barrel it was 1289 shipped and supposed to go out next week I think. Loving the modularity of this thing. Here is the configuration I'm currently carrying. The ability to swap frames and slides is awesome. Spent some time on phone with ZEV. Recoil spring is 17lbs, Striker spring is 5lbs, Connector is 3.5lb, Trigger spring is xtra power, and saftey plunger spring is lightened. According to ZEV all rated for carry applications but I'm rocking the Suarez slide with all stock internals for that anyway. Short grip (G19 length) should be available 3rd quarter 2019. Should sell just the chassis by next year (no word on pricing). It fits fine in any Glock Holster with a light mount since the retention is on the light. My TLR-8 Holster and PL-Mini Holster both work. It also fits just fine without the light in my Safariland 3 gun holster and my USPSA holster.

That is correct one take down pin. The other two pins on the standard three pin Glock are internal and hold the trigger group into the chassis. The chassis system comes out of the frame very similar to a Sig P320 although it's much more robust and in my opinion a better design. Ben is the man. He did two for me back in 2010 and one of his newer models with the Razor back option a few years ago. I have another G19 down there now. His stipling is top notch and the grip reduction with razor back points perfectly and is amazing under recoil. I like consistency in the way a gun handles and points. The OZ9 points very true and just like my razor backed Glocks which I like. I find consistency in presentation is even more important when running a dot.

I also just ordered two more grips at a whopping 56 bucks each from Midway to play with and see if I can cut one to a G19 length grip instead of waiting on ZEV. Boresight Solutions has performed this service on two Glock 17s I have now.

Yes set up more for competition based on the internals. It also has a very nice Fiber Optic sight set up. All my carry guns rock stock OEM internals. This is the ZEV trigger, lightened striker, steel guid rod etc.... What I don't know is what the spring weights are and have been meaning to call ZEV to find out. Not listed in the manual. My plan is to run one in carry optics and adapt one to a carry gun. The beauty is you can put what ever Glock internals you want or even put a different Gen 3 slide on it and retain all the good features.

    ZEV OZ9

Jost got one. It is the GLOCK perfected. The chassis adds weight in all the RIGHT places and addresses what I think is important but may not matter to many. My carry guns are all RMR'd Glocks with TLR8s. The laser on said TLR-8 is a tertiary aiming device for use in extremis and odd shooting positions. Problem being on a polymer framed glock the laser mounted to the plastic rail is not exactly precise. It can be shifted fairly significantly with pressure. The forward part of the steel chassis on the OZ9 adds good weight up front and a solid platform for rail mounted light laser combos. In other news it has an extended slide stop. Whoopy you say? Well that slide stop is protected by a raised part on the frame which prevents you from keeping the slide from locking to the rear on the last round because you grip the gun properly with the thumbs forward grip and roll your support hand into the gun. How many Glock shooters have that problem? Now you have the benefit of an extended mag release with out the negative. The RMR cut is much lower in the slide. NO NEED FOR Suppressor height sights. The ones that come on the gun work perfectly. This is really wonderful. The grip texturing is actually effective and no stippling is required. The grip angle is perfect....it doesn't point high like a standard Glock or low like a Sig P320. It points very true. Takes any Gen 3 slide if you are into that...and has a wonderful more Gen 4ish mag release. Some think it's over priced... I beg to differ. Buy a Glock, RMR it, mill the slide with front cocking serrations and the optic cut, windows etc....., Even worse buy a more expensive after market slide, then upgrade the trigger, sights, add a magwell and don't forget that custom grip work and stippling.....YOU WILL spend more money than this gun costs. I'm excited for the release of the compact grip frame and am already contemplating buying another. Now hurry up and get it on the approved list for production/Carry optics!!!!
  20. Nickoli, if you are having problems email Charles@tarheel3gun.com. I’m not sure if the match is full already but if not Charles will help you out. Tarheel 3 gun is always a first class organization.
  21. This was a great match last year. I’m excited to have it in the home state!
  22. Fantastic match! Thanks to Dean, all the RO’s and everybody that worked so hard to put together the match and the very nice prize table. Running 210 shooters through 8 stages by 5pm is a testament to your hard work and dedication. This was mine and Heather’s first 3 man and the format is awesome, can’t wait for next year. Proud to be a part of Team Barnes Precision. Thanks to our great sponsor Andrew Barnes for donating a rifle to the One Team One Fight raffle. As an active military guy I’m especially thankful for guys like John Weiss and organizations like OTOF. Also a quick shout out to Silencerco for the awesome suppressor certs, and thank you Mark at Carbon Arms! The wife was on the second place ladies team and I know they are all very excited about the 22LR uppers. So am I!
  23. I use a patriot cases 3 gun case…..available at Patriotcases.net. With all 3 guns and magazines it weighs in at 46lbs which is under the TSA max of 50 and I’ve yet to be charged or hear of anybody being charged oversize baggage fees. I run a Versa Max with the Carbon Arms Versa Tube and a Nordic plus 4 during the match. This WILL NOT fit in the case and is to long. I simply put a Nordic plus two on it with the same spring during transport. I cut out a hole for the +4 and when I get to the match I unscrew the plus 2, slap on the plus 4 and it’s ready to roll.
  24. I wondered if the full length steel guide rods made by ZEV would be SSP legal. That is what I run in my production gun for USPSA. From what I could discern in the rule good they “should be”. I shot the MD State IDPA match this last weekend and went ahead and asked the match director before the match and he said it was good to go. Prior to that I had contacted Robert Ray but he did not get back to me until today. He said the match director made the right call and they are indeed SSP legal. Thought I’d throw that out there in case anybody had the same concern.
