Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. How did it work? Just curious. I did get some clays from Powder Valley, but wouldn't mind knowing if it's a decent substitution.
  2. Well I got a response from Alliant and they said they have not tested Clay Dot in pistol calibers, so they say to use other recommended powders. You would think they are missing an opportunity of expanding their powder application with Clay Dot by not doing that testing. Why duplicate the popular Hogden Clay powder if they don't fully test it to compete with every caliber that Clays is popular in it's use? Well, I will see what else comes as my Unique jug empties, but if I have no other choice than I will try the Clay Dot if it's still available. Thanks for all the input guys, I really appreciate it!! Curtis
  3. Thanks for the responses guys! I do have 16 lbs of WST shipping tomorrow, but don't see much WST load data for 9mm bullets. Lots of Clay data so I was thinking of trying Clay Dot if there wasn't too much negative input. It seems like Clay Dot may be a best kept secret when it comes to pistol loads and I'll have to give it a try when I get close to running out of Unique. I've been using a cool site that locates powder, primer and cases. This is how I found out about Clay Dot http://www.gunbot.net/reloading-supplies Take care guys and thanks again for the help Curtis
  4. Sorry Mr. Sanders, and thanks again for your response.
  5. Thanks for the response but I don't reload shotgun. Looking more for pistol load data in 9mm, 40S&W, 38 Special and 45 ACP. So frustrating not seeing any powder in stock.
  6. Since I can't find any powders in stock ie Clays, Universal, WSF, 231 etc.... I noticed that Wiedners had some Alliant Clay Dot in stock. I read some topics on this powder and it claims to be similar to Clays. Wrote to Alliant to get their view on using Clay Dot in various pistol calibers, but wanted to get some input from you guys. Has anybody had success with Clay Dot? What calibers do you load? Thanks, Curtis
  7. His work is awesome! My Benelli M2 is a 3Gun Monster! Just wish I was as good as that shotgun
  8. Are there any discounts if you buy multiple calibers, or a smart way of buying the Mr. Bullet Feeder?
  9. And I saw that none of the Hodgen Clays line will be available until early 2014 due to a fire at their plant. It's looking like N320 or W231 if I can find it. http://www.n-ssa.org/vbforum/showthread.php/7385-Fire-at-Hodgen-powder-plant There wasn't a fire, so probably some other reason. I was just going off of what was said on this site when looking for some Universal. http://www.ballisticproducts.com/Shotgun_Pistol/products/291/ They could be wrong and I hope so because they need to make more powder!! Thanks for everyones input and help! The only powder I can find right now is WST at Powder Valley. I might have to get 8lbs or so to hold me over and then jump on some of ya'lls recommendations as they become available. I've used WST in 45ACP and 40S&W, seems to work well. The 45's seem to have less kick then my 9mm Glock 34!! Take care fella's and thanks again, Curtis Harris

  11. I agree, just glad I havent had a primer blow up YET!
  12. I've read a lot of good things about 231. Quick question, why N320 and not N340? I see a lot of entries for 340 in reloading manuals and user recipes. Forgot to mention that I'm a reloader newby, so thanks for your patience.
  13. I live in Texas so I don't have to worry about the cold temps. I'm using Unique and WST right now and both are doing well, but would like a powder that is more flexible to cover all three calibers.
  14. What would be your recommendation for the best all around pistol powder for 9mm, 40 and 45? I've been thinking of Hogden Universal Clay, but would like some more input from you knowledgable folks. Thanks, Curtis
