  1. Magazines sure look like small frame but wait until someone with more experience chimes in.
  2. He said he removed the FPB already and didn't make a difference, and went back and forth between stock FP and aftermarket. I still would pull your pin again and remove your spring and see if the pin freely falls through the pin hole in the frame, also is this a new gun? older gun? was is shooting normal before mods? What mods did you do when it changed and won't light off the win primers. I'm running a small frame bone stock with a full polish job and a PD 15.5 hammer spring is my only mod and it kicks off CCI primers DA with no problems, something is seriously wrong with your set up. Is your hammer spring color pink?
  3. I am wondering if the pin is striking an obstruction or burr in the fire pin channel?
  4. Yes, thanks so much for the info. I did round 2 of my trigger job, (thanks for the videos, helped a lot!). Also put the PD 15.5 spring in, ran 100 rounds with CCI primers DA. Every round went bang and they had a nice deep dimple from the firing pin strike. The trigger pull is now amazing for just a spring swap and a few hour polish job. Thank you so much again for the work on the videos and thank you to PD for the excellent barrel ream service and spring.
  5. Interesting read on the net shows Remington 1 1/2 small pistol primers are very soft but are too soft for high intensity loads like major power factor. You may want to research that as well.
  6. I thought the CZ grips will not fit the Tanfoglio's due to screw hole not being in the same spot on the small frame tanfog vs. CZ
  7. That is smoking fast for that charge weight of 4.8 HP38/WIN231with 1.12 OAL hornady shows that charge with 1.07 OAL with 115xtp at 1100fps...
  8. I don't see why you would have to be rushing to first charge the weapon. On reloads most of my guns the slide automatically closes when you drive a magazine home with some force if that doesn't work I use the slide release. Its much faster then transitioning from mag to slide to slingshot charge the gun.
  9. Gezz, this thread is getting into a pissing match! This guy just needs help with his issues. Just don't get that cleaning mixture on your skin to be safe... Im headed to get the popcorn to watch the end of this one lol.
  10. Did you hit one of the bullets with a hammer (bullet only! NOT a loaded round LoL) to see if the coating flaked off or does it stay on the lead? Also were the rounds accurate or did you have off POA/POI problems with keyholes.
  11. Even though they are coated we should go back to basics with this issue. First do a smash test and see if the coating is flaking off or is sticking as it should. What did your barrel slug at? What size bullets did you order and what size are they measuring at? If they are running small they can still flame cut and cause lead especially with some powders vs. others. Your bullets should be at least .001 larger then the bore size from your slug test. I run. 002 larger with a.357 sized bullet for 9mm. Missouri will work with you on your size if you need it. Did you change powders from 124 vs. 147?
  12. WOW!!! I just put same spring in mine but have not been able to shoot it since my barrel is on its way back from PD for chamber ream. I don't have a trigger pull gauge, how is your trigger so light? Other springs in gun, and polish? Mine feels around 7-8lbs smooth as silk but that's light!!!! Is wolf harder then CCI?
  13. Ok, I received the PD optimized spring 15.5, removed hammer and polished the lower sides of hammer where it rides between the frame with one of my 1911 Arkansas stones to remove the high spots. Then polished the strut and spring with 2000 grit sand paper and oil. Put it all back together and WOW, the trigger is amazing. Smooth as silk and no more stacking. Now all I need to do is test with 200 rounds with some of my CCI primers in DA only... Pencil launch test did great too.. I also sent my barrel out today to Patriot Defense for their barrel reaming services, with one of my lead rounds set at 1.16". Damn throat on my barrel is set so tight I can't even pass a drop test unless the bullet is set to .990 OAL which is no way even safe! Factory WWB worked great though... I'll report back after barrel reaming!
  14. I have the EAA Witness EA9b which is the same exact gun as the MAP1. The gun is indeed a small frame and to my knowledge will not fit the large frame guns.
  15. I carry a full size CCW and at least one extra mag. I'm retired LEO, and have seen too many of my colleagues carry small 5 shot revolvers and had one run dry in a shooting during a confrontation with a guy who he had arrested prior. Guy had a semi auto full size and they both ran dry. Needless to say it didn't turn out well for my colleague and his wife. They survived but both had a few more holes in them then the bad guy did who took only one to the arm and kept shooting them. Incident was at night after leaving a restaurant and he could not see his front sight. Needless to say we all had to rethink our CCW plan. Most of the time I have 17 in my carry and two extra 17 round mags. Plus this day and age with these crazy active shooters, I think everyone needs to carry a combat capable weapon system with extra mag(s).
  16. I would definitely be open to going to a class workshop! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  17. PD 15.5 optimized spring on way. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  18. Undersized, keyholing almost always comes from no spin on bullet. Time too break out the calipers and check the unused bullets and pull some of the loaded ones to see if the crimp is down sizing them Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  19. I'm a retired LEO, Mechanic now (still young lol), Im not worried about crafty attorneys. I just want a slightly smoother and lighter DA pull down to 7-8lbs range. My duty Glock was also modified to produce smoother pulls. The biggest problem with changing you EDC guns are negligent discharges. If you accidentally shot someone because you were careless about your booger hook on the trigger then yes you got problems. Removing safeties and making hair triggers is not a good idea, especially if you live in a very liberal state or area. 99% of cops have no idea you modified a weapon, if I was called to attention that the trigger was really dangerously light then the weapon would be examined by an expert. I want to start shooting IPSC in my area and want my carry gun to be the same format at my IPSC gun, hence the reason for the move away from striker fire guns (plus everyone has one blah!). Another note was rust issues. I really have not seen any issues on the net after polishing parts so I just pulled the trigger per say and did it.
  20. Thanks Memphis, I'll make a slave pin at work so when I buy that stock 2 I am ready to go.
  21. Getting this puppy back in was the biggest headache!
