  1. I had a pistol listed for sale online. Had a good offer, and googled the prospective buyer. Saw he had a criminal history, so naturally I didn't sell it to him. Since then, if I don't know the buyer personally, I'll only do a gun sale at an FFL/gunstore, and pay to have them do an instant check on the buyer. Or if the pistol is sold to someone out of state where it is legal to do so, then it's shipped to their local FFL who does the instant background check.
  2. "New golf clubs won't fix a bad swing." That was a quote attributed to Arnold Palmer in, of all places, an ad for new golf clubs that he was endorsing.
  3. When shooting your pistols over a chronograph, do you take steps to shield the chronograph from errant shots? Or do you set up your chronograph as vulnerable as William Tell's son, totally reliant on the skills of the shooter? Rossi Rifleman ? View topic - Chronograph Shield
  4. Thank you for all the replies. They have been very helpful.
  5. Hi Guys and Gals, I hope this isn't too dumb of a question. When I watch videos of the great ones doing speed shooting drills, I wonder how much time is saved by the use of special pistols, holsters, and ammo. I'd love to compare my speed (or more correctly, rate of fire) with a champion shooting all factory stock equipment so I'll know how high of a mountain I have left to climb. For example, I checked the SCSA rule book and I could not find any catagories restricting shooters to factory ammo loadings. So, is there a competitive shooting sport where the participants use only stock pistols, holsters, and factory ammo? Thanks!
