  1. Although "team events" are a lot of fun, it can be difficult to coordinate and schedule with two other shooters. Plus, the reason I go to shooting matches is to see how I stack up against other shooters individually. You can't do that in team events. Lastly, I am already competing in a 3-Man 3-Gun match this year, and once a year is good enough for me. If this match remains a "team event", I probably won't attend.
  2. Dean, do you have to be classified by USPSA to shoot this match? Do you still have slots left? Round count? Brian

Revoman, How long did it take to get the work done? I'm looking for a gunsmith to work over my S&w 625, however, Randy with Apex has a huge backlog and Clark Custom has a 2 to 3 month backlog. I need my revolver back by the end of February so that I can use it in an upcomming match. Brian
  4. Thank-you all for your help. I used the "melting method" and it seemed to work fine. Thanks again for those who replied! Brian
  5. I just received a set of Sevigny/Warren fiber optic front sights. One is for my G34, and one for my wife's G34. The problem is that the sights only come with general instructions and do not specifically state how to install and secure the actual fiber optic rod in the front sight. The front sight (see attached pics) comes with a red and a green rod which can be cut to length. However, the rod slides very easily into the sight and would fall out if I tilt the sight down. Is there a standard or typical method of securing fiber optic rods? Thanks for your help. Brian P.S. I attached two pics to this post but apparently it didn't work or something. I guess my next post will ask "how do you attach pics".
  6. I placed an order with Ready Tactical Products (www.pistolpacking.com) for one pistol holster, two magazine holsters, and a double speed loader holster totaling $142.50. I placed this order FIFTY-FIVE (55) days ago and have NOT received my products! I have been calling the phone number posted on their website every single day for two weeks straight, and I never get an answer. In addition, their answering machine is either full, or defective, or manually turned off because it answers and says, "Answer Off". I have also sent an e-mail expressing my concerns and have not recieved a response. To make matters worse, they have charged my credit card!!! This operation appears to be either a scam, or a person that is totally incapable of operating a business. Either way, I advise all of you to spend your money with a more reputable company, not with Ready Tactical Products. I will be contacting my credit card's Fraud Investigations department today. Is there anyone who has had similar experiences that could offer me advise on a remedy? Brian
  7. Thanks BigDave and Warpspeed. I contacted Precision Delta and they sell their Winchester 115gr 9mm for around $150 for a 1,000 rds plus shipping plus an 11% excise tax. I pay $128 at Walmart. Even their reloaded practice ammo was more expensive than Walmart. Maybe Walmart is my best bet???
  8. My wife and I are both avid IDPA/IPSC shooters. We go through alot of rounds each year, but we do not have time to reload, nor do we have the desire to reload. We would rather pay for factory ammo. Believe me, I know there are alot of advantages to reloading, but I've been bumped from Marksman all the way to Master shooting factory ammo with a stock glock, so I'm really not interested in reloading. What I am interested in is getting a good deal on ammo since I plan to buy in bulk. We both shoot Glock 34's and we like to use Winchester 115gr 9mm. However, we are tired of going to Walmart every month and buying hundreds, sometimes thousands of rounds. My question is this: Does anyone know of a distributor or dealer who will sell me Winchester 115gr. 9mm (or equal) in large quantities at a DISCOUNTED rate (between 8,000 and 10,000 rounds per purchase)?
  9. Good point Flexmoney. Another advantage to shooting the Wal-Mart Value Packs is the bragging rights associated with beating other shooters who are using down-loaded ammo and race guns, lol. I compete in ESP with a stock glock and factory ammo. But if I'm going to buy factory ammo, I might as well buy the lightest rounds available. It can only help, especially for my wife. Brian
  10. I appreciate all of your input. I am going to follow up on all of the ammo types suggested. Driver8m3, thanks for your point of view. Others have told me how fast you can pump out a couple thousand rounds too. My concern is not so much how long it takes to actually reload 1000 rounds of bullets. It's all of the time I will probably spend learning to reload, researching various load configurations, experimenting and trying to find the "perfect" load for me, reading post after post on this forum regarinding reloading, lol, collecting brass at the range, cleaning brass, buying powder, buying bullets, buying primers, etc. etc. etc. It's almost like an additional hobby. I have too many hobbies as it is, lol. I don't know, maybe one day I'll decide to reload. But for now, I'm going to try out some of these suggested factory ammos. Thanks everyone! Brian
  11. Hello everyone. My wife and I are both active shooters in IDPA and IPSC. We shoot several club matches a month and average one sanctioned match a month. We both shoot Glock 34's using Winchester 115gr 9mm ammo (Wal-Mart 100 pack). Now I know what everyone is thinking: "you and your wife need to reload". Believe me, I've heard that 100 times, and you are all correct. Reloading would be the most effective solution for me and my wife, however, we don't have time, nor do we want to make time. Therefore, my question is: Is there an ammunition manufacturer that makes some sort of low-recoil or reduced power 9mm ammo for competitive shooting? Thanks, Brian
