  1. I worked with Tom at WI Sectionals andd area 5 matches,,,great guy and very patient when working with wide variety of shooters. Go with God my friend!
  2. Try the Taccom...been good to me!
  3. When you pull the charging handle to move the bcg back how much room do you have when you lock the bc with ar slide lock. The bc should have only about 1/4 inch or so to lock ...any .. more length than that drop some quarters behind buffer spring.
  4. they only send the conversion kits to your ffl and one just arrived last week...thanks for the consideration.
  5. Does anyone have a Rhino double action conversion kit....I have a California 357 coming and every one is out of the conversion kit.
  6. If the 10 inch barrel works in the accuracy department and you want a reg. rifle 16 inches put a shroud on it and be done with the problem.
  7. right now Frontier arms has 9mm lowers on sale for 80 bucks, Gorilla machine has sllick side lowers for 45 bucks, and Delta team tactical bcg for 70 bucks. The rest you can get from unbranded ar which is general ar parts and a heavy buffer and fre float tube from Tacfun ar and barrel from Bkf for 70 bucks. Build one for around 450 dollars.
  8. Check Delta Team Tactical for their assortment of Charging Handles and price: from $14.99 and up
  9. I would go with an Aero lower, sale priced $105, Unbrabde at lower parts kit, $35, Gorilla Machine 9mm upper, &55, Gorilla Machine barrel, $75, Delta Team Tactical Lokota arm butt stock assemble, $35 anc Tacfun free float hand guard $45. Then google 9mm bcg should be around 74 to 90 dollars.....total around 400.00 ! Have built two of these and have had very good luck and they have been very reliable.
  10. Usually we see the amount of accidental discharges in the winter months when outer coats afe added....unforutunatly quals are usually in the summer and indoor ranges and training does not take into consideration the drawing and holstering with winter coats....was very prevalent when we transitioned to glock 22 for our county .
  11. Monday the day after Christmas call Aero or go to their web site to communicate with their tech staff
  12. Go with the Sterns with a Taccom barrel and bcg and Tim's 5 inch shrouded barrel with the feed ramps and top 1911 guide....works great for me for over 6000 rounds jam free!
  13. Lucky me I just got mine a couple of months ago and would have waited for the new improved version....looks a bit more heavy duty.
  14. Just recently had a local Officer with a Sig 320, discharge the firearm while exiting his squad car. Then the local news went into a diatribe about 33 cases of accidental discharge with Sig 320 hand guns nation wide and the on going law suit going on with these cases all law enforcement officers. They all are saying that the fire arms discharged themselves. I have seen quite a few of these 320's in production and optics with tens of thousands of round down range and never had one go off by itself. Just checking - with the average Office shooting lest than say 400 round a year and USPSA competitor logging thousands of rounds a year and they still do not self discharge! Just checking if anyone has any feed back on this.
  15. I put in an 8 oz with a rifle spring and did not need to short stroke the buffer tube.
  16. I have the Taccom 5.5 inch barrel with the feed ramp and over 5-7000 rounds have had one (mag related ) failure to feed and some times I am too lazy to clean abd run coated lead almost all the time.
  17. I would like to see IDPA increase the maximum round count to 24 for stages . 18 rounds maximum is a little lite for stages.
  18. I worked with Bob and his wife starting at Area 5 going to th3 Single Stack and at Nationals. Bob was a great person and fun to work with and a lot of people in Illinois and Wisconsin will miss him....Go With God my Friend.
  19. Purchase a Sheel roller buffer and shot our end of season Hozer Match, 250 round minimum....upon returning home and inspecting the buffer I noticed the the buffer had rotated out of the side hole machined in the buffer tube....do not inow how many rounds this was the condition but the Taccom upper with the Scheels buffer still was 100 per cent....too bad the end of the season but will have to watch for the rotation during winter practice other wise the rifle ran the same for the hole match and mine was the only one that did...thanks Tim!
  20. Oh and by the way watch for Aero 9mm blem lowers that go on sale for 20% off...had to buy two when that happened!
  21. I have 3 aero lowers and an 80% lower with the taccom upper that I run in USPSA all the time with over 3-4000 rounds thru and one failure to feed in all that time....I shoot the other aero lowers on occassion and have had very good results with them....just gave one to my youngest grandson and he has had no problems with the aero lower. Send Tim the bcg and he will cut it for the taccom barrel....great guy to deal with and excellant products.
  22. I would switch over to a Taccom barrel with the intregal feed ramp and top hood on the barrel....run one in one of my builds and have had one failure in 4-5000 rounds....Tim make good stuff.
  23. Go to the Aero Precision website and check on their lowers, complete or bare and the order Taccom's upper or just their barrel and BCG...you can do a build for $4-6 hundred dollars and then etc 40 round mags and you are in business. Then get a 5-7 ounce buffer weight and 5 to 7 quarters to short stroke the system....fun project
  24. If you are familiar with ar builds I would recommend Aero 9mm lower(complete or build you own) and a Taccom upper with bolt carrier, That is my build and has run 99.999 per cent....I have one fail to chamber then I cleaned it after 3000 rounds. Used glock mags,,,,I like ETS mags but main mag is taccom extension on 33 round glock mag.
  25. I have two open guns and run 3moa Burris Fastfire 3's on both and neaver has had a problem with either one of them except the dot size which I wish were 6 moa.
