Update, So it's been almost 2 months since my last post and I happy to report I've been off pain meds since my last post (only Tylenol). Limited range of motion which was expected. What pain I do have is minimal and still no sciatic issues.

So upon disassembly and inspection I found the extractor is broken. New part on order and I am giving the broken piece to my BIL to take back to the Smith and get his money back. Thanks for the help

So I went shooting with my BIL yesterday and he just picked up a Gen 2 G17. It is failing to extract about every tenth round. The case is stopped 3/4 of the way out of the chamber with the next round in the mag pushing up on it from the bottom. All the FTEs happened with WWB 115gr factory ammo. We did run 50 of my reloads through it with zero failures. He took it to a Smith locally who charged him $50 and said there was nothing wrong with it. I told him that I would look at it, my guns nothing experience comes from 1911s which are different but the same theory. Is this a regular occurrence? Can someone direct me to the parts to replace if any? Do you guys need more info or pictures? Thanks Jeff

How far behind are the S1050 running? Thanks

I had degenerative discs at L4-S1 and ruptured my L5-S1 last January. I had a microdiscectomy last July and that made my sciatic worse. Finally found a new surgeon this year and had an anterior discectomy at L4-L5 and L5-S1 (artificial discs implanted) and a posterior decompression and fusions at the same levels using LANX clamps. Couldn't get rid of a fever I was having after the surgery and ended up with responsive staph infection. Back in for a second surgery to clean out the infection, IV PICC line in my arm for 6 weeks of IV meds 3x a day. Ended up back in for a third back surgery for the same infection (3 back surgeries in less then a month, 20 days in the hospital). My last surgery was April 3rd of this year. Happy to report I have zero sciatic pain anymore but the back pain is still healing and I start PT this month hopefully. I really can't say I recommend or don't recommend a major back surgery. I have an excellent surgeon with a very good reputation. For me, the sciatic pain was so bad I was in the ER at least once a month having these sciatic attacks that I thought were gonna kill me. So now that that pain is gone, I feel it's a success even though I am still healing and the staph about killed me. I'm 37 with 5 kids and now I can't go play baseball or basketball with the kids. Shooting is the only hobby I am willing to risk doing for now.

Man, the way you are with NIN is how I am with Megadeth. Seen them 23 times. Dave's kind of losing his marbles these days but as long as they're playing music, I'm good. I'll definitely be hitting up the new NIN album and the new song is great.

You are about to learn a very valuable lesson about waiting!!!!!! It will be worth it!!!!! Oh yeah, I was lucky when I ordered my 650 cause it only took 5 weeks and 2 days. I ended up ordering about 4k worth of stuff yesterday all together so hopefully it'll trickle in. Haha

Just take a piece of metal and contour it and glue it to the arm making the flat surface wider

I pulled the trigger on a 1050 in 9mm and 223 conversion. Also order a RF100 primer filler. Can't wait.

So I have a 650 with tool heads for 9mm, 40 and 45 which I love. I was thinking about a 1050 to do 9mm and 223 especially because of the swager. I don't run into a lot of crimped brass but there are some. Should I just invest in the 1050 or get another 650? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
