  1. Lightly peen (a series of slight punch marks around the face) the face of the barrel extension where it mates up to the shoulder on the barrel. Apply a generous amount of Loctite 609 to the threads, screw it together perfectly indexed and reassemble the barrel to the receiver the next day.
  2. About 30 something years ago I photographed a Thompson barrel that had bullets stacked like that. It was real. Blow back guns will do that. Detonation claims are mostly excuses for double charges and/or no charges followed by a round with powder or two charges. Small volume powder charges let reloaders make mistakes that would not happen with a powder that fills the case or nearly so. If you are using a load that fills the case, you can’t double charge one. It won’t go in.
  3. As long as we have the silly high round count stages SS will continue to decline. Revolver is almost dead because of this current situation in stage design. But the governing bodies do have to take into account all the plastic high cap guns being made and used these days. Its an economic decision that has to happen based on the reality of the market.
  4. I have had a Nordic PCC for a while and it has been completely reliable and it is super accurate. Mine came with a good service grade trigger but I installed a Hyperfire and its now a very, very nice trigger. Mine uses M&P mags, which load smoothly because they are steel and center feed and thus tapered on the business end. I use Taran Tactical extensions. Which provide only 23 rounds but my reloads are fast, smooth and consistent and the mags are bomb proof. Obviously, if its a 27 round stage the Glock mag guys can skip a reload when I can't. Mostly that does not matter, IMO.
  5. I have a dead stock original version in 9mm. Although the trigger could be improved, most of the time I can clean a plate rack at 25 yards just like it came in the box. Its a great shooting small carry pistol. Used for its intended purpose I would not modify it in any way and I can't imagine using it for anything other than a small carry pistol. The trigger is hard enough that its not going to go off too easy, it points well, the sights are good enough and the size and shape is good.
  6. Try this: 115 HAP 5.3 gr. N340 1.100 oal Its about a normal “factory load” velocity and shoots great in every gun I’ve tried it in.
  7. My Nordic NCPCC15 weighs 7 lbs. 5 ozs. with red dot sight. Its been 100% reliable for a couple thousand rounds. No mods needed. I would definitely buy it again.
  8. A .45 bristle brush (or a 9mm/38 if that's all you have with you) on a cleaning rod inserted from the breech end. Push the brush in just far enough that the mouth of the case is about midway up the brush. You might want to hold the barrel in a vise when you try this (or find a helper).
  9. I find N340 to be excellent in 9mm.
  10. I'm using Taran Tactical extensions which boost capacity to 23 rounds. There are advantages to shorter magazines - lots better handling at reload, easier to carry and maneuver with. Good news on the Nordic receivers is that you can change which magazines you use after purchase if what you try first is not satisfactory.
  11. M&P. No big sticks, but faster loading, and the mags are very high quality.
  12. Love my Nordic. And I highly recommend the M&P mags with Taran extenders.
  13. 7 pounds, 5 ounces with sight - not too heavy at all.
  14. Kinda surprised this gun is not getting more traction. Mine runs >> flawlessly << and is very accurate. As far as I'm concerned, this is the nicest out of the box PCC available and at a good price for the high quality. You really don't need to do anything but put a sight on it and go shoot.
  15. I watched and waited a long while before buying into PCC and I'm glad I did. The Nordic Components is a great rifle.
  16. Can you please quote the dimensions of that reamer?
  17. My Nordic Components NCPCC works every time so far -- @1000 rounds. https://nordiccomp.com/categories/nc-pcc/
  18. The gun ran great at the match, so up to about 400 rounds now with 100% perfect function. I did have to clear the gun into the berm because the cartridges were just a bit long. New cartridge overall length is 1.100" and is tested for extraction of loaded rounds. The heavy blowback bolt will jam just about anything into the chamber but it may not come out unless you shoot it out. But that's totally my fault for rushing to get the brand new gun ready for a match in two days. The trigger is decent after getting a little break-in and lube. I am kinda of surprised at how well it slicked up. Somehow UPS lost my Hyperfire that was supposed to be here last Friday and I do still look forward to getting it in the gun. But if I never changed the trigger I am not sure it would matter that much. This gun is plenty usable right out of the box without any refinement or modification. I recommend the Nordic Comp NC-PCC without reservation. https://nordiccomp.com/categories/nc-pcc/ As for the match results, I "zeroed" one stage out of five (I was apparently unable to count past 2, so left a shot off each target) and still finished mid pack overall. Won the classifier. I think there is a lot to be said for the interchangeable magwells and being able to use other mags of your choice. I know Glock mags are ubiquitous, but I'm not sure they're the best for a PCC AR. ROing and getting to see up close when so many PCCs puked for the past year+ convinced me to keep waiting before jumping into PCC. The S&W M&P mags work great. I am pretty sure that Beretta M92 mags will work just as well. And the STI mags should be good too. Its hard to beat a high quality metal magazine. The interchangeable magwell feature is not apparent visually or functionally. You'd never notice unless you wanted to change it out - it fits that well. And the way it fits is really well thought out and sturdy. There is no downside to it.
  19. Shot a little over 200 rounds this afternoon with perfect function. Seemingly excellent accuracy - ragged bullet hole at 20 yards from improvised rest over top of my shooting box. Shot 115 HAPs (at 1.120" o.a.l. with 5.3 grains of N340, pretty snappy) and some 129 gr lead SWCs - and it did feed everything. These are very nicely built guns with a high level of machine finish for an AR. I like the S&W mags which present the rounds straight into the chamber from a single central position. I chose Taran Tactical +6 extenders and other than hard to load the last few rounds, they worked perfectly. The metal mags slid in and out easily with no tendency to hang on release or insertion. A Burris Fastfire III was on top today. I might want larger than the 3 MOA dot or I might try a 1X scope. But for Saturday's match, its ready to go except for the trigger that's due here tomorrow. Here is the page for the gun: https://nordiccomp.com/categories/nc-pcc/
  20. Picked mine up yesterday, fired 10 rounds and all good. I have the M&P magazine version. Headed to range today and will report back.
  21. Added to the original question: What magazines do you use?
  22. I see lots of posts about PCCs that don't work, this thread is for those that do work. Tell us about your PCC set-up and the ammo you use for it to run correctly. Added on edit: What magazines do you use?
  23. In .45 ACP only right now with 9mm coming: https://flintriverarmory.com/
  24. Yes, the shell holder touching the bottom of the die, no cam-over, hard contact. I also made a decap rod for that die and use the die with decapping rod as the first step in processing range brass. The die will not size the case mouth to hold a bullet, (remember we're working with a tapered case here) but it does squish the base down enough to fit any standard chamber. Any case that I run through this die and with reasonable force on the handle will gage properly when full length sized in a standard die. Any .380s in the bucket show obviously lower effort to size and wrecked 9mm are much harder to size. Once you get the hang of it, this upgrades your quality inspection and control quite a bit. Another other really good solution is to roll size the brass. The machine is pretty expensive but it will surely fix bulged brass. Sometimes you can buy brass processed this way. Its still cheap, so if you find some, that's another way to skin this cat.
