Keep us posted. I've had Odd Stuff break before but this is a weird one.
-
Part of cleaning is not just to clean but also to inspect. If you're shooting a lot, parts can/do break. Cleaning lets you see wear/breakage issues.
M+P probably is a once a year detail strip. I did my Limited/Open guns about quarterly.

You sure are posting a lot about wearing pistols out. You either spend a lot of time in gunstores or you are pushing for 50 posts.
-
In this sport in particular guns are NOT indestructible. See: Open. See: Slide Mounted Optics.
As far as slide scraping off metal and thin rails.....I've not really heard that before.
-
Website screams "scam" and "fraud."
-
The learning curve for a newer shooter can be extremely steep/violent. Like someone said above......shoot a couple matches before you get too focused on gear.
-
Gunsbygiz this is the third posting you've made about stroking guns.....you've even resurrected necro threads on it.
Maybe just get one?

WML?
in IDPA Rules
Oh I think that inferences and insinuations are the best way to do rulebooks. Probably applicable to contracts as well. Just hope that people can read between the lines and pick up on the "intent."
-
Ditto to HCH but also maybe not focus so much on splits.
The more I "try" to shoot fast splits the worse it gets.

WML?
in IDPA Rules
I've honestly checked the rulebook but cannot find it. The one "thought" I had was that it might not fit the box, but was looking for a rule

Your post said 35 primers for $1000. Even nowadays that would be a lot.
These primer scams have been talked about a lot on here.
-
I work/live in a subset of the tactitard community and there's no rule change or modification that would get them to come out. The .01% that DO come out typically don't come back.
If someone's focus is the flashlight/laser/bayonet/thigh holster the last place they'll come is to a club match.
-
Some of this just seems crazy. As has been said a b/million times before this sport is chasing new shooters when many/most club matches fill up in seconds or minutes.
I might be misusing the word here, but it seems like we are pandering to people who don't currently shoot our sport.
If people want to try our sport.........they will come and try it with the gun they have. Whatever they have will fit somewhere. They'll shoot, get their pride pounded into the ground, and then either
a. Never come back
b. Come back and start figuring this sh!t out.

WML?
in IDPA Rules
Are weapon mounted lights legal in IDPA? The only mention I see in the rulebook is on Pg 15, which doesn't help.

If I'm reading the rumor report correctly, the implication is that there might be a new division, that it would be a 2011 with a slide mounted dot.........and there'd be major/minor options? This renews the "Why not just shoot open?" argument.
-
My original post re: BHP was sarcastic.
I am now on board the "Major Alphas count for 6 points and minor Alphas count for 4" program.
Limited mag length should be reduced to 138mm maximum.
-
Hopefully the Browning High Power will finally get it's own division.
-
Tough to beat ammo that costs "next to nothing." I do think splits/pairs/recoil impulse will be very different. Valuable for 1 shot draws and sho/who.
Also easier on your ears if you are indoors a lot.
-
Agreed absolutely. Not a good situation at all.
-
Yikes. Maybe it's "cheap" insurance or "cheap" piece of mind.
-
You've already got shinsplints at 22 years old.
Ammo is expensive.
Spending $1 on training will probably save you $5 in wasted time/energy/ammo.
-
I'm not seeing anything about training methodology. Be sure to find a good coach; an A/M/GM with a good track record of improvement might be a good start.
A good trainer for the physical stuff would be in order as well.

Shot a lot of singlestack on/off over the years. Never had more than 5 on the belt, and rarely more than 4. I'm not a huge guy; probably wouldn't have had room for `6```

I'll pay you for any good pics you have of Paul. Maybe you two gazing at the sunset, or maybe sharing a roll of target pasters. Tasteful of course.
Another eyeball/glasses question

Still struggling with being old and blind.
I have prescription glasses that I shoot with. Generally, the prescription seems to be correct.
However, today I shot a stage that made me doubt this. Final stage of the day; no vision problems at all.
Right handed shooter.
Moved left with a stack of barrels on my right. Went to engage an array and could not see my front sight. For a moment I thought maybe it had gotten knocked off the gun. I think I used my left eye and finished the array. RO interference resulted in an offered re-shoot, which I gladly took.
Same exact thing happened on the re-shoot. The array on the right went fine, the array on the left went fine, and then final array (again) was where I couldn't find/focus on the sights.
Would love to hear from fellow glasses wearers on this frustrating experience.
