Shot 1000 rds out of a new 9mm 1911. Runs great. Take gun to match; gun won't extract reliably. Take gun home after match, tune extractor. Shoot 500 rds in practice; runs great. Take gun to match, 3 stages go fine 4 stage gun won't extract. Mix of factory and reloaded ammo. Bad extractor? Missed a step in manufacturing process? Help

Turns out I did not order that roller; talked to CGW and got one on the way. Odd little problem for a gun to have; more of a driver than a mechanic but the CZ pistols have been around a really long time. Would think it would be possible to machine things tighter.

Not exactly sure; I don't think it was the Pro Package. I do know it cost about $180. I do think I already have the roller bearing.

RO Suspected of Cheating in USPSA Matches
konkapot replied to deerassassin22's topic in Miscellaneous BEginners
I've been shooting fairly seriously since 2000; I've read time and time again about "honor" and "integrity" and other words that most people learned from watching Gladiator and/or 300. I've also read what "great folks" USPSA shooters are. This incident should have opened people's eyes that USPSA shooters are just like any other group of people. Some cool....some fool. We've also learned about how quickly some of our "great folks" are to try to cover things up and rationalize reprehensible behavior. Cheating by an official is a bad thing. Period. -
Bought it from CGW; not trying to bash them at all. I'm sure they will help me out when I call tomorrow. Just looking for some ideas on how to get it up and running for dryfire tonight and livefire tomorrow morning.
-
I have a P-09. Put an "action upgrade it" into the gun. Shot 100 rounds just perfect this morning. Went to dryfire this afternoon; when I dryfire in single action, the hammer decocks itself. It falls about 1/3 of an inch and then stops. When I release the trigger the hammer decocks to it's resting position. I will call the vendor of the upgrade kit tomorrow; was hoping someone hear would chime in on a quick fix.

It's an imperfectly worded poll; the implication is that we hold an elected official more accountable than a hired one. Some counties, for example, elect rather than appoint Sheriffs. Mostly trying to provoke some discussion/thought on the subject.

What about hiring a CEO? Instead of voting in a part-time President, what if we hired (and paid for) an actual Executive to run the organization? Maybe hire him/her on a 4 year contract.

2014SC Sectional

Had he gone any faster we would have approached a space-time continuum issue. A "wormhole" in space if you will, wherein we would enter the singularity horizon and enter a perpetual loop of infinite time distortion. -

looking left and right after finishing stage
konkapot replied to Toyotafrank's topic in USPSA/IPSC Shooting
I've worked at two high volume law enforcement training centers for a little bit now. It is almost impossible........during the course of a 8-16 week program........to get students to routinely scan before they holster. Pleading, reminders, threats, promises, encouragement, etc etc still don't get them doing it habitually. If motivated basic students don't make it a habit during a 2-4 month training program, it is very unlikely/uncommon that experienced cops will, truthfully, have made it a habit to scan/check 6/safety circle/checkpoints back to the holster before holstering. No hate for the guys that truly do it out of habit, but my vote is many of them are posers. -
Dogs!
konkapot replied to konkapot's topic in Miscellaneous Topics That Do Not Fit in Any Other Forum
One 2 yr old Beagle and one 10 yr old Beagle/Chihuaha mix. Never sure what their "sweet spot" is...distance, time, etc. The older one is about ready to be walked seperately on a slower/shorter walks. -
As part of my obligation to provide an exceptional lifestyle to our two dogs, please answer the following poll. My goal is 100% satisfaction from our dogs, and since they can't answer internet polls on a shooting forum, you guys will have to help me out.

Agreed. Thanks again.

Thanks Nik. I remember a long discussion...maybe here....about .40 and 10mm being the same diameter, and hence caliber, but I don't remember the outcome/answer.
-
I have a Glock 20. I have put a .40 caliber barrel in it. 1. Is this setup legal for Production? 2. Is this setup legal for Limited? I emailed Mr. Amidon a couple of weeks ago but he has not replied yet.

DQing a New Shooter...What would you do?
konkapot replied to Bill Filiaga's topic in USPSA/IPSC Rules
Agreed on the sentiments expressed here, however......... To quit being an RO at this club makes no sense; they are desperately in need of good ROs. I would continue to do it to set an example, particularly on enforcing the safety rules. Many times all it takes is for one guy to make a stand, and others will follow THAT example, rather than the poor one being set. -

What do you do with published stages?
konkapot replied to RammerJammer's topic in USPSA/IPSC Shooting
Had a whole bunch of stuff I was going to type but Cha-Lee said most of it. They are a very useful tool for stage breakdown, particularly on memory-type stages. Can, easily, cut the breakdown time on match day by half in some cases, particularly shooting L10/Prod/Sstk. -
I also think in our case Alan most people, if they leaned that far, were leaning against that no-shoot target rather than the wall.
-
They claim that the DA pull is 5-6 lbs. Maybe they improved it since you shot one? A 5-6lb DA seems pretty nice if it's reasonably smooth.
-
Anybody shot the P250? How's the trigger? Recoil? Not really a suitable game gun but am interested in one as a house/zombie gun.
-
New recoil spring, proper lube, problem solved.
