  1. Maybe keep an eye on the trigger spring; proactively changing that, particularly in a duty gun, won't hurt.
  2. The visceral, profanity filled rage I heard from some shooters (not the poster) was more consistent with people who were in the "Why didn't I think of that?" camp. @Mike it was your first scenario described in your post.
  3. Incomplete information given in the original post reminds me of garbage in/garbage out. The CROs/ROs present decided that a penalty was not warranted.
  4. I've also had durability/longevity issues with various 96s over the years.
  5. Experienced the same thing dryfiring one at the LGS yesterday.
  6. That is peculiar; I have had several over the years and they all ran great. I wonder how "off" the volume was from what they needed to do to make money on it.
  7. I would say just get the gun you want because you want it; I carried a Kimber as a duty gun for a good bit and never felt under-gunned. It's all about you much you train anyways.
  8. Absolute +1 to finding someone consistent and check your match percentage against theirs. Key word is a consistent shooter.......a guy who wins two stages and zeroes the other three won't give you good data points.
  9. You might have obsessed yourself into a deep hole on this one. Putting the timer away for a bit will help also. Try some other drills; still shoot tough shots but get away from your current drill. Ball/dummy can show you a flinch, or it can show you a PIP aka Pre Ignition Push. Flinching is not good but a PIP is common. Shoot some groups at 10 or 20 yds for a bit.
  10. I carried a 9mm Eagle as an off duty gun for a good bit; thing shot flat flat flat. Had Eagles/Edges in 40 over the years; Edge definitely shoots flatter, but I think in 9mm you might not need or notice the difference.
  11. I built a sight tracker years ago and was underwhelmed by it. Not bad....no real downside, just had no impact on performance.
  12. How about "never mind" and thanks for all the "help."
  13. .40 caliber. 180 grain. Data per Vithavouri. What I'm trying to accomplish is to get below 185pf................
  14. Loading some N350 that I've had for a little bit. Starting load gives me a pf of about 185. Should I dive below the recommended minimum charge or load at the minimum and push my OAL out?
  15. Over the years I've gone back and forth between platforms; another option is to store them inside for a rainy day. Maybe you'll go back to 2011, or you'll want to try single stack, or a buddy will need some ammo because his press is broken, or or or.....
  16. If I stick with PCC and go back to shooting majors I will absolutely have a backup, or a practice gun/match gun.
  17. I carried a 9mm Eagle as an offduty gun for a bit; I was using a Blade Tech belt holster.
  18. Never ran into something that egregious but I agree 100% on something like breaking the law.
  19. When you fly with guns have your act together; have your stuff locked, don't bring a loaded gun, don't bring more ammo than you are allowed, etc. Many of the airline and TSA people are just fine; there are some that don't know the rules. If you talk nice and use charm you'll almost always be fine; act like an arrogant tool and start waving their rules in their face and, rest assured, you'll be That Guy. Your goal is to get on the plane with your stuff; not "educate" the poor ignorant peasant who doesn't know every nuance of travelling with guns. Some of the airports do it differently; doesn't make sense but that's the deal. I've travelled probably 100-ish times with guns and ammo post 9/11 and never had a real problem.
  20. Availability is extremely important to me. I shoot a lot and break stuff. I need a guy who can help me RIGHT NOW so I can shoot tomorrow/next week or whatever. Agreed on what Sarge said above about local talent; it can be tricky to tell the difference though between a local stud and a guy who is a poser.
  21. Looking for a weeknight club match in the Vegas area this week.
  22. I'm a fairly experienced pistol shooter and have been working on PCC for a couple months now. My training sessions feel......off. Not focused, and almost like I'm not doing appropriate drills for PCC. Match performance with the PCC is weak also. What are PCC shooters doing in livefire sessions? What skillsets, drills, etc.
  23. What sized dot is everybody using?
  24. Been shooting pistol for a good while, just getting into PCC..... 1. Get your target acquisitions down pat. No overswinging, no overaiming. 2. You are shooting m I n o r; overall accuracy should still stay around 92%. No deltas. 3. Reloads are super important for classifiers, of course, but I've not prioritized them in live fire training. 4. Work on weakside shooting during dryfire; there's a quite a match gap between those who CAN do this and those who CAN'T. 5. There's a theory for minor shooters that says 25yds and out, just get two hits and move on. I vaguely remember Angus (I think) talked about this shortly after Production started. There's merit to this. 6. First shot from PCC start position should be about 30% less than your first shot from the holster. Still new to PCC, this is all I've got so far.
  25. Don't chase little stuff............having your hands at a minimally better location pales in comparison to having a perfect draw stroke in your tool box.
